He's such an effortless songwriter, that's what makes this project so good, along with top notch production. I wanted to hear more melody in the vocals and production (like Something Tells Me) & less drums and monotone rapping/repetitive melodies. But that's my personal preference because he has SUCH a nice singing voice for r&b. Overall it's a great album, quality is A1. It just doesn't hold my interest as much as I would like it to.

I was worried about this album man. Trapsoul was so good I didn't think he could top himself. When it dropped I accidentally listened to "self-made" first (I try to listen in order because that intro/transition in Trapsoul was 🤑). I lost it when I heard self-made, it reminded me of Lil Wayne's Carter II and his Like Father Like Son album blended into a smoother less weezy more tiller vibe. The man stuck to his roots! Do yourself a favor and listen to "Teach Me a Lesson" then buy a couple copies from your nearest Target to support the dude.

I only got 16 out of the 19 songs and this album is very repetitive and nothing new. Not impressed.

Maaaan this album is basically one loooooong sloooooow boring song. First album was 🔥🔥🔥. This album is trash. I expected so much more than this. Try again, Bryson.

First off, I wasn't feeling the first album couldn't catch the vibe other than couple of the popular tracks that was nice and well produced. I was waiting fo rthe follow up I wasn't disapponited at all actully it's production sonic wise is infectious and knocks threwout the 18 tracks that makes it hard to fast forward even if you don't like the track. Really overall this project is better than the first lyrically it's on point with young vews and situations, problem is thers no growth production wise with each track almost sounding like the previous. I'm looking forward to him taking chances with different production hopefully incorporate some live instramatation on his next project, but for the summer / fall this will work.

This is in a category of its own and Bryson takes you through different aspects of his life more than just dealing with a relationship. If you take the time and listen to True to Self you will be in for a delight.

Amazing sound and beautiful music

So is he a singer or a rapper? I'm so confused about his sound. He's literally talking over a beat and when he attempts to sing, Im unfamiliar with his notes, pitch and etc. This is crazy. Besides the songs all sound the same as all the songs on his other album. Im bored with this guy.

Loving the bass that runs from song 2, after the intro, through song 6 "You Got It." Song 7, "In Check," is kind of mellow. I need a minute. In Blowing Smoke, the low drop of the bass got Play Picasso hot, and honestly, I was so glad not to hear the sicky-sweet falsetto of Tory Lanez. Bryson Tiller is a real dude, real singer, real musician, the truth. Music to my ears to take a break from world news. You ever think if certain singers never went away, other singers would never happen? For example, if Remy Ma, a real rapper, had never going to jail, there would BE no Nicki Minaj. And... If Bryson Tiller had dropped this sophomore joint a year or two ago, there would BE no Tory Lanez. Anyway, so nice to hear a man singing with a relaxing and hot tenor, and just kind of making us dream with his crazy meandering all over the scale as only he can. Peace.

Something about Trapsoul was just different, I feel like the songs off it were all specially unique. With this album seems like there's only 2-3. Either way good album just slightly disappointing.
