DISCLAIMER: NO SINGING!!!!!! ((((: I had to leave a review because I have to say I was overall disappointed with the grey chapter and a little nervous about this single BUT... This song sounded like something off of Vol. 3.... It was HEAVY and HARD HITTING and FAST PACED. Hopefully the rest of the album follows suit. #MAGGOTFORLIFE

After you’ve heard it at least a few times, it’s a great track. When I read interviews and teasers from vocalist Corey Taylor explaining “This is going to be Slipknot’s darkest chapter and will pass levels of Iowa heavy”, that would be the start high expectations coming to me. After this track, I feel like it hits close to what the band was speaking about, however (in my biased opinion), if they’re going to get louder than Iowa, then they’re gonna have to return back to their prime roots...

So heavy!!

Absolute rubbish and exactly what I think a tribal tattoo would sound like. I love Slipknot for what they were, but to me they are no longer relevant.

I know they can match the intensity with their new album (but I hope they have some melodies/regular singing to make it stronger) because Slipknot is going on a very solid 20 years... which is an amazing milestone, and that will create a challenge for their creativity on new songs/albums

This is exactly what Corey promised! Iowa levels of heavy. This is a killer song! Sounds like a mix of Self Titled, Iowa, .5. I know that there are even heavier songs coming our way from this album.

Never really liked these guys except for a few random deep tracks. This doesn’t really do anything for me. Maybe I’ve leaned more towards stuff like Architects too much. I respect that their influential and all but nothing about this track stands out to me...

This song is ok, nothing ground breaking at all compared to their past track record. This falls short considering the wait since the last album.

So wasn’t ready for this! I thought they were just going to be doing a music video of their first albums anniversary but they dropped this instead and it’s incredible! I can’t believe how good it is, especially for what they said was supposed to be “a demo.” They’re back with a huge bang and it’s only getting better from here! Welcome back boys!

Never really been a big fan of these guys, but this song is good. Really good.

I’m very happy to see/hear a new Slipknot song. This one came out of nowhere. After listening to it for 5 or 6 time, I come away thinking that this song is good, but not great. It sounds like a previously unreleased song from the .5 (The Grey Chapter) recording session. The riffs repeat more often, the bridge doesn’t excite me like for example, Disasterpiece, Surfacing or Vermillion. Those songs have bridges that are special, All Out Life does not have that. I hope this song is not representative of the up coming Slipknot album, but rather something to hold us over until the new album comes out. This song sounds too much like .5 (The Grey Chapter). I was hoping for something different but still really heavy. But still a good one, I like it.

So happy to here my favorite band comeback even for just a single, hope the album turns out as good as this song. No, I hope it’s better.

Slipknot is back with one of their most aggressive songs in a long time. This isn’t the most aggressive the band has ever sounded, IOWA is just such an intense listening experience right up there with “Scum” by Napalm Death or “Jane Doe” by Converge. This song does have a big thrash metal influence and it is very moshy. The one thing I didn’t like about this track was Corey Taylor’s little spoken word bit in the breakdown of the song, not gonna lie kinda cringy. Overall, great return track for Slipknot.

I give anything Slipknot 5 out of respect. But I think they're lost without Paul and Joey. The songwriting isn't there and Corey's voice is just shot. Plain and Simple.

If you’re a maggot (Slipknot fan) that has been with the band for a while then this is a treat. I do see how newer Slipknot fans (since to Vol.3 subliminal verses) may find this hard to listen to at first. Give it a few listens and train your ear with an open mind and you’ll understand a lot of what Corey is saying. Thanks Slipknot now I have a new song to learn how to play on the ole Gee-tar! 🎸

I liked The Gray Chapter because it was different. Everything else sounds exactly the same and this song is no exception.
