Still a great album by architects and it’s about what direction they feel their music needs to go but, this de-metalization trend that continues to claim favorite bands is a scary possibility that could claim architects soon. The genre is fading into pop-rock and hardcore very quickly.

Look, it’s calmer. It’s new. It’s still good. They didn’t sell out and just approached it slightly more melodically. If you see this guys - well done!

After the second single I’ve decided that I won’t bother. They went mainstream. A fear I had when I fell in love with this band. I get it; mainstream = more money. Oh well.

I’ve had each release on repeat as soon as they come out, can’t wait for the full album!!!

Animals is different but still freaking good. After hearing two of their other songs from their live stream (Dead Butterflies and Discourse is Dead) I know this album is going to be 🔥🔥🔥

I never really even heard of Architects prior to seeing the video for Black Lungs on Youtube, but Animals and Black Lungs are definitely more my style than the older stuff I looked up, so I definitely like the more melodic approach here.

I don’t understand all the hate? This is amazing! Every band throughout the years change there sound. Fortunately, architects new sound is still punchy and aggressive.

these songs just keep getting worse and worse

Yes I’ll admit this is different than what everyone is used to hearing but I can respect the direction change! Why don’t people get that bands evolve and yes the sound changes but it’s still the same people, putting their blood, sweat, and tears into it! People need to let bands grow and learn to accept their changes! Just because you don’t like the new sound doesn’t mean they are garbage! It’s still the same guys vibing off each other and making music the way they want to! Long Live Architects!!

If Architects wants to try out some different sounds then let them. It’s their creative choice. They have the right. The songs are good. People are just pissy because there’s no “bleghs”. Boohoo.

i'm new in the architects universe and those first albums were awesome but this is like linking park more or less, it doesn't have that energy anymore.

It’s a perfect mix of both metal and hard rock, with a few soft rock songs in the bunch.

I have been an Architects fan for many years and was thrilled to see a new album coming out. When I heard Animals, I knew we were in trouble. It wasn’t as dramatic of a transition and Bring Me to the Horizon, but I can see them heading in that direction. It’s also not just the style change change that bothered me. The music quality took a hit as well. I’m still a huge fan and will continue following them, but I hope they turn it around!

I don’t like the direction this album is headed. I understand musically evolving but this is over simplified and boring. I’ll appreciate the old albums more for this one. Sorry guys but this album just seems weak.

Boo boo

I’m not sure what happened, but their classic Architects sound and feel are completely gone. It doesn’t give you that same raw emotion and beautiful yet melancholy ambiance the past 3 albums gave. Very very very disappointing. Nothing is wrong with change, but they have changed before but kept their overall style. This is pretty much just a new pop rock band. Sad to see this band go.

This album is incredible

I haven’t found a single song from Architects that I have disliked. They’re constantly evolving and always pushing the boundaries. I can’t wait for this release!

Every band needs a sound change sometimes. This is probably a one and done. Just let them find their middle ground and stop complaining about it being “mainstream”

First 4 songs are killer

Another user pinpointed it correctly, Linkin Park hop to it rip off. This band died when Tom passed away. Music is not precise and grabbing as it was when the prowess of the song writing was filled with Tom’s excellent music. This feels like a bunch of live show chorus fluff.

Do not be foolishly deterred by the ones who can’t accept progression and growth. This album is still very much an Architects album, but also very much a beautiful change that is worth embracing. The singles are just the top of the iceberg that is this mammoth of an album. The sheer amount of variety yet consistency here will keep me re-listening for years to come. RIP T//S

Architects haven't changed. People out here complaining about them not being good. I’m so tired of people bashing bands for changing their sound. And they didn’t even change that much. They still sounds like their other albums but added in clean vocals. I’m loving the album so far

Architects and Bring Me the Horizon are my favorite artists of all time

Completely amazed at how much of a masterpiece this is!

i made it halfway through goliath and had to turn it off because i was getting angry at how awful this was. besides animals, black lungs, and impermanence theres nothing worth listening too. even discourse is dead is a terrible song even though its heavy. Its all so generic and processed and feel like its soul was whiped out. truely a case of quantity over quality with this album.

I think this is a good album, for anyone that’s never heard the band before. It’s a very disappointing album for any long time fans. It’s too simple, and clearly focused on mainstream support. Josh is a great guitar player, but I don’t think Tom can be replaced. Tom was the sound of this band, and an amazing artist. I love this band, but am having a hard time enjoying this one. Sam’s vocals on most of the songs sound very Linkin Park.

Very interesting album; Very groovy! I really this album, but a few songs were wanting me to want that big heavy breakdown. But this is a great one! Good work.

Vocals sound weird, poppy, and overproduced. Guitars are neutered and boring, drums sound fine I guess. Each song they have released has been worse than the last. I’ll reserve my full judgement until the album drops, but so far the 4 songs I have heard are hot garbage. If you’ve been a long time fan of Architects, skip this album. If you’re new to Architects, you might find something here to enjoy if you’re into generic radio rock. What a shame.

Meteor was just released and wow I am just blown away by the 4 tracks released so far. Honestly don’t care about whatever sound they came from, this album is undeniably amazing both artistically and sonically. Just preorder the album bundle on their website and just love working out and going on runs to this music. Thank you. PS. I still liked some of their more aggressive prior stuff like A Match Made and Hereafter but I think they have found a new sound that just works so well.
