She’s done it again. Everything about this sweet, family friendly program and album is a win in every level. She’s re-recorded her old songs in a new register. It’s great to hear her Xmas originals, extra props to Oh Santa which has now been added into the Christmas canon.

Love how Mariah keeps on adding to her portfolio of Christmas songs - if it were for me, I’d have all existing Christmas songs in a Mariah version.

This album has been on repeat in the house nonstop. My family can’t stop gushing about Ariana, but it amazes me that Mariah wrote the majority of these tracks because they sound so good and fits with the traditional classics like Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, even Elvis, which means that she’s outdone her first Christmas album! The uptempo songs are catchy, which is hard to do these days. She also re-recorded some of her favorites and I love that it reflects who Mariah is and how far she’s come in her career, but that it proves her long standing during the holidays. JHud and Ariana makes very brief cameos which isn’t bad at all. It’s their performance in the Special that counts. All three, including Snoop and JD are adorable. I especially liked the stripped down version of When Christmas Comes, it just sounds like a classic now. The uptempo songs are surprisingly catchy—surprisingly less corny than expected as everyone would sing along, even during the cute interludes! This new Mariah sounds so good and so festive, especially in this new Holiday Special that just breathes new life, especially in these trying times. Mariah has definitively saved Christmas—and 2020!

I honestly didn't know what to expect with the special or the resung vocals for the soundtrack, but it was a masterful display of a woman who is constaly outdoing herself. Everyone is going to talk about "oh Santa" because of the 3 powerhouses coming together but "Sleigh Ride' is the undercover gem!
