The Ultimate Sin by Ozzy Osbourne Album Info

The Ultimate Sin is an album by Ozzy Osbourne. It was released on February 22, 1986, and it was remastered and re-issued on August 22, 1995. This album was certified double platinum on October 26, 1994. This album also features former Mickey Ratt, Rough Cutt, and Dio guitarist Jake E. Lee. This is the only Ozzy Osbourne album to feature bassist Phil Soussan, who wrote the album's U.S. hit single "Shot in the Dark". This was the first Ozzy Osbourne album to feature drummer Randy Castillo, who has since died due to cancer. Lyrics were largely written by long-time Osbourne bass player Bob Daisley, who was also present during the initial writing sessions. Daisley left after having a disagreement with Osbourne which led to the hiring of Soussan. He was also not credited as a co-writer on the initial 1986 pressing of the album. This was corrected for each pressing after that. "The Ultimate Sin" was Osbourne's highest charting studio album. The RIAA awarded the album Platinum status on May 14 1986, soon after its release: it was awarded 2 x Platinum status on October 26 1994. In April 2002, this album was deleted from the Ozzy catalog and is no longer being made, due to legal issues between Osbourne and Soussan over the track "Shot in the Dark." The most recent issue is the 1995 remastered CD, which, unlike other more recent Osbourne reissues, does not include any bonus tracks. It is, however, still for sale in the iTunes Store. The album was ranked #22 on Metal-Rules.com list over the 50 greatest glam metal albums. Track listing All songs written by Ozzy Osbourne, Jake E. thedrumm - Great

Ozzy rocked here! The title cut is the best I feel, with Shot in the Dark next. You can't go wrong with this one.

AcerellA - Ultimate Sin

Grew up with Ozzy (with and without Randy) now my son is digging it, old and new, gotta love it!!!

The Other Logan - Good but not Great

Personal favs are the Ultimate Sin-Killer of Giants and Lightning Strikes. Shot in the Dark is a good song, however, it should never be referred to as "tight". This is rock-n-roll, son. Remember that.

Fire stopper - Ozzy Rules

This isn't Ozzy's best record but when it came out it was one of the best albums of that time. Jake E. Lee plays some awesome guitar on this. Definately worth a listen. Ozzy is a mad man!

Vikingwargod24 - The best since Sabbath

Some of the other purists, or Rhoads fanbois, will tell you that the previous albums were better. Well that is their opinion and I can respect that ... but this album was the better of em all. Ozzy drops two songs about nuclear war, rants about himself and manages to dish out a ballad that people (even the folks who were afraid of him) will sing along to when it comes on the radio. ~ VWG

400 barz - Ozzy rules this album is no sin at all

Not as good as the last, but I recommend it for any Ozzy fan.

epicmetal4life - shot in the dark

this cd rocks, shot in the dark is one of the tighest songs, to bad its not on any cds exept live ones, but rip randy rhodes 12/6/56--3/19/82

Metal Is Music! - Great!!

I love the album, but I personally think that Ozzy was better with Randy Rhoads.... Zak Whylde is also pretty good. I wish Itunes would put Black Sabbath on already!!

geetarman - LOVE OZZY hate JAKE

ozzy was at his best when he had Randy but when randy died his music died with him and ozzy was never the same... im giving this 3 stars becuz its an ozzie record but thats it

#1234% - Jake E. Lee

One of my favorite guitarists of all time rips the hell out of this entire album

Undertaker39614 - Ozzy's worst album

Shot In The Dark is one of Ozzy's best songs, but this album is horrible, because that's the only great song on it. Secret Losser and Lightning Strikes are okay, but aren't even worth buying. I'd stay away from this one. It sounds much too glam for Ozzy, and the lyrics are laughable (you'll never know why... WE ROCK, ROCK, ROCK. WE ROCK, ROCK, ROCK.)

sunsman - another awsome album, a 10

ozzy and jake e. lee do a good job together in this one buy it and you will not be sorry check out the songs the utimate sin never know why lightning strikes and shot it the dark

DharmaLogos - Forgotten Ozzy

This is Ozzy's forgotten album. It featured guitarist Jake E. Lee rather than his predecessor the legendary Randy Rhodes or his badass successor Zakk Wylde. It lacks the strong visual imagery of albums like Bark at the Moon and Diary of a Madman. It features a more dated 80s hard rock sound, political lyrics, and a shortage of memorable songs. As a result this album is underrated - when it is thought of at all. It is definitely worth a listen, and the song "Shot in the Dark" is especially outstanding.

cooper93 - HIT THE BUY ALBUM BUTTON

DO IT NOW ^^ DO IT!! THIS ALBUM IS SOOO GOOOD!!! SO BUY IT!!!

RacerXfan - Ozzy

Jake E Lee at His Best. This Album Is A Must Have For Ozzy Fans.

theozzyman - ozzy!!!

yo man this album rocks!!to bad u can only get these songs on live versions or this album...but still id say the best song in this album is def shot in the dark..y aint it on the essential?? .rock on ozzy!!!i still love album!!

Scored a Goal - Awesome Album

Well apparently this album got some bad reviews. I don't see why I think this is some of Ozzy's best work. Jake E. Lee played some amazing guitar in this album. The best songs are The Ultimate Sin, Lightning Strikes, and Fool Like You. Good job Ozzy
