Originally i do not like country, but this album was introduced to me by one of my friends, who forced me to listen to "Top Of The World" which made me tear up.I recomend it for anyone who wants a nice soft, flowing song to send shivers up your spine. Especially the violins at the end, very well done.

Excellent album. Great listening. Enjoyed the Dixie Chicks and their style of Country music. Would certainly buy more of their albums. Wasn't much of a Country fan before but they have grabbed my attention.

This is a new sound for the Chicks. It has a Bluegrass sort of style to it. The DCs know how to make new music, and still grasp our attention to it, unlike many artists. Dixie Chicks is over all the best country singers out there other than Tim McGraw. Even their political statement dropped many listeners, they didn't drop me. This is their best album and beautiful, true lyrics. BRAVO!!!!

i've listened to the Dixie Chicks since i was little. Me any my friends preformed one of their songs when i was about 8. I love this band. i love "long time gone" and "truth no. 2" i love how it insults George Bush! listen closely!

i went to this concert and shook their hands! they truly are amazing, the papparazzi totally twisted their words! In concert they are even better! DIXIE CHICKS RULE!

I think without a doubt that this is the Dixie Chicks best album. I've grown up listening to it and they are amazing and powerful songs. My favorites are - gosh it's hard to pick - Travelin' Soldier, A Home, I Believe In Love, Godspeed, and perhaps my favorites song of all time is Top of the world. The insrumentation is BEAUTIFUL.

I don't think there is one bad song on this album. Well, maybe White Trash Wedding (Not really a fan of it) but other than that, these girls do it once again. It's great how they manage to change thier style with each album and manage to succeed each time. The Harmonies in this album are fantastic, but I really loved the violens and fiddles, mostly in songs like More Love and Lil' Jack Slade. Once again, these girls never fail to impress and this album is thier best one behind Taking the Long Way.

Longe time Gone, Landslide, Travelin Soldier... do I need to say more ? These Songs are amazing.

i first got this cd for christmas of 2002 and i was really young....and i fell in love with it immediately. and still listening to it today, i find songs that hit me deeper than they did then. Long Time Gone - 5/5 Nice and upbeat, a feel good song Landslide - 5/5 makes you wanna sing along Travelin' Soldier - 5/5 just plain beautiful. it makes me cry occasionally. Truth No. 2 - 4/5 i love the beat and the instruments White Trash Wedding - 4/5 haha im not sure if it should..but it makes me laugh A Home - 5/5 Another one of the beautiful songs on the album and definitely has a good meaning More Love - 3/5 Kind of repetitive but still a good song I Believe In Love - 4/5 Once again beautiful, but what really gets me is the strings that were added Tortured, Tangled Hearts - 5/5 Probably my first favorite one on the album it's definitely catchy Lil' Jack Slade - 3/3 I'm not very fond of this one but it has good instruments Top of the World - 5/5 My favorite one on the album, it's catchy, beautiful and i love the strings Godspeed - 5/5 Probably my second favorite after Top of the World they both have the same qualities So, what I'm saying is, this cd is worth it. without a doubt.

Great Job! If you want real country music buy Toby Keith. Id rather spend 9.99 on a William Hung album than this junk.

Travelin' soldier would have to be my fave song, it's so touching. But it's kinda in a tie with godspeed. I love that song, it's so sweet. I love the DixieChicks. I also like Taylor Swift.

It's unfortunate this album is forever tied to controversy that occurred shortly after its release. The Chicks' greatest effort ever was skyrocketing up country charts for good reason before it found its way onto bonfires. It is chock full of passionate poetry and playing, authentic country and bluegrass (not corporate formula), and amazingly tight harmonies and it is all over the emotional map. It improves with age and will easily be on my all-time favorites list till the day I go "home."

This album is SO good...I mean, Travelin' Soldier is not only meaningful, but pretty. No matter what, I have and always will adore the Dixie Chicks. If some people weren't so closed minded as far as what Natalie said about Texas...honestly, just because she had an opinion doesn't make her a bad person, and it sure as heck doesn't make her music bad. The Dixie Chicks will continue to churn out amazing music for years to come!

This album is my favorite album of theirs total! Top of the World Godspeed and Travelin' Soldier are beautiful and I just love it. Very well rounded. If i had to pick the best song it would be Top of theWorld

While not a Country music fan, the songs on this album are quite good. I read the reviews just waiting to read one like FordMan150. I'm surprised that their aren't more Duh-bya apologists (and their lackeys--Toby Keith) on this thread. I can just see the cheering throng of haters throwing the DC albums on the fire a la Germany in the 1930's. Express a view about the worst president in the 20th Century and you're vilified by the hypnotized masses.

Bluegrass, heartfelt lyrics, great vocals, pretty much sums up this CD. Only bad song is 'I Believe in Love' Top of the World' one of those songs everybody needs to hear.

I can't stand country in the worst way, but when I heard this album a couple of years ago, I thought it was actually really good. And even if you're not a country listener, just listen to a couple of songs. This is the only album of their's I actually like, cause they sound much different and more acoustic/bluegrass. But seriously, this is good country. Truth No. 2, Landslide, More Love, and I Believe In Love are good songs. Also Travelin' Soldier. If you listen to one of those songs, atleast the whole thing, I'm pretty sure you'll think differently about them.

This CD is one of the Chicks best. As a true Chicks fan you can feel the emotion in every song of what they went through which makes it such a great CD. I loved the Chicks music from day one & still love them. I am waiting for their next CD & hope to see the girls in concert someday.

The Dixie Chicks' third effort is by far their most pure down-home country bluegrass album yet. Much of modern country music is criticized for pop and rock influence, but their is absolutely no trace of pop to be found on this album. Thumbs up for daring to be different and not forgetting your roots! Their excellent cover of "Landslide" totally tops the original version. (Sorry, Stevie! I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, but the Dixie Chicks version is better) Lead singer Natalie Maines squeezes every ounce of emotion from the song, so much so that you'd think she wrote it herself. And you can't top the sound of banjos and fiddles alongside such pure, sweet vocal harmonies. What this album lacks, however, is the impressive variety that their previous albums boasted. This album leans a great deal toward slow ballads. Don't get me wrong; I like ballads, but too many of them can make you think you're listening to the same song over and over again. (Forgive me for not saying "AWESOME!!!! click yes if u agree!" but that's my honest opinion) A few ballads that do stand out are "Top of the World," "More Love," and "Travelin' Soldier" - real tear-jerkers. Overall, this album is not perfect, but it's still a solid effort, an enjoyable listen, and a good buy. Now, I'm sure I must have said SOMETHING that you disagree with, so go ahead and click "No" - not helpful. (Come on! Just because you may not agree with every word doesn't mean my review is poorly written)

After one listen, Home has become one my favorite Albums. The first 6 songs are unreal. Natalie’s voice is wonderful and the harmony that the women produce is intoxicating. The strength of the musicianship is very strong (great fiddle and banjo). I love that that the album is acoustic; there is no feeling of it being overproduced. This is pure American music! If you like Allison Krauss & Union Station Live, you will love this disk too. I hope that they create another disk like this one.

This album is probably my favorite DC album out of all of them. The song writing is second to none, the music is spine tingling and the lyrics (especially Top of the World) are heart breaking, and hopeful and fun. The Chicks are one of the best acts in country music today, and anyone who discounts them because of their political opinions is not a a true music fan. Anyone who truly listens to them knows they are hearing a unique sound that will never be duplicated. Plus, they're all from Texas, which makes everything better! ;o)

This is overall a good album. The song 'Travelin' Soldier' is byfar my favorite one on here. It brings tears to my eyes almost every time I hear it, but I love it anyway

This album is one of the best albums of the 2000s and just in general, EVER. Landslide and Travelin Soldier are masterful choices and the chicks deliver. The whole album is great. They are truly talented. They are definitely a step above everyone else. This is great!
