My family and I have seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra live at least 5 times. They have one of the most amazing and crazy light show with their performance that I have ever seen. It is our family tradition to listen through this cd as we decorate the christmas tree and rock out lol. If anyone is looking for christmas music with a different twist, this is perfect, this band takes classic christmas songs, rocks them on electric guitar and such, but still keeps the beauty of christmas and those christmas classics. Some songs on here are just remixes/reinterpretations but in other songs, they incorporate part of their interpretations of the classic christmas song into their original songs and it is very interesting

This album, TSO's first, is also their best. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra manages to create music that can be liked from teenage death metal fans, to a grandmother wearing a crochetted reindeer sweater. Each song is golden, and the Christmas Story is extremely touching. Last year I saw a TSO Christmas special on TV, and I liked them a lot. I bought a couple of their songs (Christmas Canon and Sarajevo 12/24) and was immediately hooked. Then for their 2008 Winter Tour, I had the oppurtunity to see them in Nashville. The performance was nothing short of mind-blowing. The light show, the Christmas Story, and the pure energy radiated from the musicians created an experience I will never forget. Seriously, you haven't lived until you see TSO live.

T.S.O. is great. The only thing that is not the best, at least in my opinion, the acoustic guitar played a little bit too much, but I mind it. Because it I like the acoustic guitar, and the guitar was played beautifully. But nevermind that. Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24(Instramental) was awesome. So was A Mad Russian's Christmas(the original name Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy a dance part of the The Nutcracker created by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky)

I am 14 and seriosly love TSO. I used to not really like classical music (except for beethoven [musical genius]) but ever since i first saw TSO on public tv i have a new appreciation for all of the classical composers (although i still favor beethoven the most). So thank you for taking the time to come up with this awesome music. BTW i call it classical rock.

Actually the song Christmas / Sarajevo 12/24 (Instrumental) came out like 10 yrs before the Nightmare Before Christmas came out. Also why don't u just listen to the instruments and what their rhythm really is. If u play and instrument, you'd see how good this really is.

Easily one of the best Christmas albums of all time and most likely the best in TSO's trilogy. This entire album is stunningly creative and beautifully written. I know I'll still be singing songs like, "An Angel Came Down" and, "Old City Bar" for years to come. Way to go, TSO!

These guys are geniuses when it comes to mixing palready made Christmas songs. My favorites are: Christmas / Sarajevo 12/24 A Mad Russian's Christmas O Come All Ye Faithful / O Holy Night Buy this album. It will be worth your purchase.

A lot of people write off Christmas music as not being "real" music simply because you only hear it once a year. However, I would highly recommend listening to a masterpiece such as Christmas Eve and other Stories year round. This rock opera takes you on a journey through the world with an angel who was given the task to find out what God's children had done since the first Christmas. The story, which is written in poem form, is meant to be read while listening to this extraordinarily well-done album. There is literally something for everybody: Heavy Rock, Classical music, Progressive Rock, Shredding Guitar, beautiful piano, and even some traces of jazz and blues. In short, this album is Paul O'Neill's master work.

I saw TSO when they came to georgia last week. It was amazing with cool light shows. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to start off Christmas

I bought this cd after seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert the week before Christmas. Hearing and seeing them create this incredible music was a lifetime opportunity. If you haven't heard them, just download the cd anyway. It will be well worth it!

All instrumental, but far from classical. It rocks!

In case you may not know, this song was actually on an album by the band Savatage on their Dead Winter Dead. That was the first time I heard it and thought it was amazing then. My surprise is that most people now hear it as Trans Siberian, some members of which were in Savatage. They were a great band for the 80s with metal and ballads alike. The most moving album had to be the Streets - A Rock Opera. If you have an open mind, check it out. Unlike an artist who repeats the same chorus 100 times in a song, these guys actually have meaning behind their songs. Enjoy!

This is an awsome christmas album! I wont forget when this album came out becaus my unlce worked with the group to record this album!(Love ya unlce mike!)Haha but that is not the only reason i like the album, it is a great way to get people in to the spirt and the true meaning of christmas, which is family.

The song, Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24 is one of the BEST Christmas songs ever produced. It is amazing, and I love it and have loved it since I was a little kid. It was well worth the money for the joy and power you feel while listening to the song.

Such intensity while still proclaiming Christmas joy. My dad would play this CD every Christmas morning as we opened presents, so the 'Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24' is a favorite of mine, being the one song that has always stuck in my mind.

Their albums are great...but none of them have "Carol of the Bells". Kinda stinks if you ask me

TSO is a great group, they have put an amazing twist to traditional Christmas songs and completely re-vamped them. Also go see them in concert, they are one of the best performers you will ever see. Their light show is incredible and their music is so much better in person.

I love this album it has Christmas songs that are rock. I love Wizards in Winter and Christmas/Sargevo 12/24. My mom thinks that those two songs are the worst written. I don't think those songs are too bad. They would play those songs on the radio. The Christmas Sarjevo is ring christmas bells.

Their song "Christmas/Sarajevo"; oh my goodness they tear up that song!!!!!! I hear it on the radio every year and I always wanted to know who that was and the name of it. I am so glad that I was able to find out by hearing about them coming in concert.  I would love to experience a concert like that, because I can only imagine what it must be like to see them in actuality!!

This album is my favorite from TSO. However, my comment is really about the live performance. Seeing one of these shows is an experience of a lifetime. It is the Floyd, the Who, and Queen all rapped up in Christmas ribbon. This is a Top-Ten-Must-See event of a lifetime .

Once again, a perfect gem!

There's the tracitional Christmas music, then there's the Trans Siberian way. I was given this as a gift years ago, but never put it in. Well, I "tried" it today, and it 's on it's thrid run through the cd....It is simply outstanding. They give the t raditional themese a new twist and you dont' get it all the first time through. It takes multiple listens to full appreciate the genius of this group! No wonder they keep seeling more and more at the stores. Get it now folks...You will keep this in your permanent collection...Now where is my Justin Bieber Christmas cd?? lolrof

Although, the review is good and sound, Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo 12/24 is not based on "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". It's based on Carol of the Bells. Over all, a fantastic album, and I truly wait with baited breath on Gutter Ballet rock opera coming out soon.

I've seen them in live concert and they are AMAZING. especially Christmas/Sarajevo.When they played it there were red flashing lights moving around on digital red panels and the music was amazing too. It was truly a sight to behold !

i love tso sooo much! i see them every year and when they do this tour...i just love every little bit of it! the thing is, that i am used to seeing "jay pierce" singing the song prince of peace, but both jay and the woman singing this song are very talented! Christmas eve is intense but still carries a festive Christmasy feel to the whole song. Amazing! I absolutely love it!

Christmas music be the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is the best Christmas music you will ever hear. They keep the heartfelt meaning of Christmas, while keeping the songs lively and moving, great for listening to at parties or while decorating a Christmas tree. The rock and roll is exciting, but TSO also plays touching songs like An Angel Came Down and Old City Bar, which always makes me cry. This album (or any of its songs) are a must-have on every Christmas playlist.

I LOVE TSO, but this album is ANOTHER album with the same music from other albums. TSO needs to come up with some NEW music.
