I grew up with Green Day and this album is there best I love Green Day they are my favorite band i will never change my mind about them!!! Keep making awesome songs Green Day!!!

Green day all day

Every song in this album is perfect, i just wish that the itunes album didn't have most of the songs grouped together. Jesus of Suburbia is the best 9 minute song i've ever heard. American Idiot, Holiday, Wake Me Up When September Ends, St. Jimmy, Letterbomb, Boulevard of Broken Dreams. All Hits. It's amazing that theres not a single poor song on this album.

i is on a budget, so i like to choose songs i download, however the only songs i like on the album can only be purchased with the whole album...not cool itunes, not cool

Best rock album of the 00' decade

By far one of the best albums Green Day has ever written. Billie Joe speaks to me as a listener. I prefer the song Jesus of Suburbia, amazing alternative album

This album is amazing, but I hate how I have to buy the whole album just to get boulevard of broken dreams. The only version that iTunes let's you get is the live version which isn't as good. Anyway, I love green day, awesome album. Nuffield said

Second best Green Day album, after 21st Century Breakdown!

Here is my rating for a couple songs/ Jesus of surburbia 10/10 American idiot 9/10 wake me up when September ends 9.5/10

American Idiot is probably my favorite album of all time and I highly recommend getting it. However, if you get the iTunes version, while you get bonus tracks and a video, many of the tracks are combined, making it hard to listen to some of the tracks by themselves. If you want to have the seperate tracks, buy a physical cd copy and burn it into your computer. Just be aware that the Cd version doesn't have the bonus content. Just thought it should be something to consider.

I love Green Day so much and am proud to be an idiot!

I was about six or seven when American Idiot came out, and I remember Boulevard of Broken Dreams was my favourite. I'm really glad to have rediscovered Green Day. On this album, Jesus of Suburbia used to be my favourite, but now I'd have to say its Give Me Novacaine. Keep up the good work, Green Day!

No other album will ever come close to this. No other album will ever top American idiot, it stands above all others as king. This will alway be my fav album and it will remain the album of, not the century, but of the millennium. The only band that can top this album is Green Day themselves, yet I doubt it can be outdone but I'm not counting them out just yet, I got a very strong feeling that something HUGE! Is coming from them. Idk how they'll do it but i get the feeling that they will top this album it's just mind blowing to think about. My all time favorite song: Holiday.

This I'd definitely thee best album that I own from green day. I know that they have new Albums coming out, and I really don't think that they can top this! I rennet the first time I ever herd one of their songs. The song was "she." when I got out of the car I did some research on the band and became in love with them ever since.

it's amazing

Even if you're not a Green Day fan, this album will still blow your mind! Almost all the songs are hits, and are absolutely amazing! Just like all of Green Day's stuff. (Btw if you want a edited one, they sell them in stores)

There's not one song on American Idiot that even remotely fails to impress me. My favourite tracks however, are American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, St. Jimmy, She's a Rebel, Letterbomb, Homecoming, Whatsername, and Governator.

The only problem with this album is I would really like to buy Boulevard of Broken Dreams but I can't!!! I won't buy the whole album because I don't like all the songs. But the biggest thing is WHY are all of the other songs available to buy singly EXEPT Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Holiday!!! I already accidentally bought the broadway version and deleted it.....

Best album of the century. Bold nd strong with the soothing melodys that can take ur worries away! Green Day is the best band of all time. U can always rock out or relax to american idiot! It helped me thru rough times.it will go down in history as the most epic album of all time. And all u say they are sell out were never true fans!

definetly one of the greatest albums recorded. you feel like these few songs speak to your soul while riding on the war ship that is these great punk rock riffs...the jesus of suburbia has a little something for everyone because after all i think were all sons of rage and love...and holiday puts the idea of war in its place....truly great music....

Good album gonna get it

The only reason I looked at the album was because I really love the songs Holiday and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I am disappointed though because you have to buy the whole album just to get those two songs.Although good album.

This perfect album captures the life of a rebellious adolescence. Armstrong is able to write in a way that each person, no matter how their childhood was or is, can relate to. It starts with the character "Jesus of Suburbia" not wanting to turn into an American Idiot. He goes through the year battling with himself and his demon St. Jimmy, trying so hard to not be an American Idiot. It takes all the way to Letterbomb to realize that all this trying has just led him to become one, the idiot of America. He then decides to go home and reminisces about the girl he lost along the way and how things could have been different. I don't care who you are, as a kid growing up, everyone has their phase of being the "Jesus of Suburbia."

This is in my opinion their best album but to fully understand and enjoy the songs it's good to know the whole story behind the songs about st.jimmy and jesus of suburbia (played by lou taylor pucci) and so on...sincerly the best punk rock album ever made <3

Holiday and Boulevard album only???!!! Whats up with that! Green Day :) iTunes :(. I dont want the Brodway version I want the true music. Album cost is too much to get two songs i want so, send iTunes down the boulevard of broken dreams for this. I like GD, iTunes gets a one star. Green Day scores 6 stars but there was no option for that.

Green day has always been the music I've listened to for my whole life, and I am proud to keep buying their songs...

Green Day has crafted a powerful and timeless album, simply epic in its concept and lyrics. The band have found the post-9/11 world a miserable time, and are expressing their anger towards Bush and the Establishment on powerful political anthems Holiday and the album's sassy title track. Meanwhile, they tell the stories of misunderstood kids striving for acceptance throughout the album. Jesus of Suburbia, one of the greatest songs ever written by and band, pushes the limits of a punk song in the acoustic "Dearly Beloved", and the powerful, emotional "City of the Damned". American Idiot will be admired for years to come as one of music's defining records.

THEY ARE GODS AND KINGS OF MUSIC

During the time period of January 2010 to May 2010 I was going through a lot in life with no where to go to when feeling sad. Then I listened to this album a year after that time period. WOW. Every song on here can perfectly describe what I was going through during those times. For 2 years now I've been Green Day fan. I HIGHLY reccomend this album to newcomers. After listening to this you should listen to Dookie which is Green Day's 2nd best album. To close this out I will write down my top 6 Green Day albums. 1: American Idiot 2:Dookie 3:Warning 4: Insonamic 5: Uno Dos Tre trilogy 6: 21st Century Breakdown I love all their albums so If one was not mentioned I simply didn't hate it but it's not the best.
