I always heard his first hit from his first album i dont wanna be was the title of the song its great song i wasnt sure i he could follow up but he did his new album is great every song not just in love with a girl get the whole album

Gavin DeGraw's style is so original and unique. Most look at only the lyrics in a song, but really the musical composition is simply amazing. This album isnot a let down to all those fans who've been with him from the start.

One thing that would make this better is if he had a stripped version of it like he did with his album "Chariot". A few of these songs sound a bit overproduced and having a stripped cd would give it the raw feel I got from the first album.

I like the way Gavin lets his ideas out through his music. "In love with a girl" is my new fave of his songs. The guitar intro is memorable. Although, I do have to say, the point he makes in the song is kinda obvious, don't you think? i also highly recommend "Chariot" and "I don't want to be"

There are only about 3-4 CDs that I can truly say I like every song on them, and this is one of them! Simply amazing... You have to hear for yourself!

AMAZING! I have loved Gavin's music since Chariot came out in 2004. He is the first real artist that has put out full albums that I have loved and enjoyed time and time again!

I was excited with the prospect of his first single, In Love With a Girl, and since have been let down. Every song on the album is so manufactuered and over produced, including the lead single and the Tristan & Isodel former iTunes #1, We Belong Together, it loses the raw nature of the artist. I only really listen to Chariot - Stripped because it brings Gavin to life. But Gavin can not pull off the 'Live to Production' change like a John Mayer. Word of advice to the Record Label, because I'm sure GD already feels this way, use the K.I.S.S. method.

I have been waiting (anxiously) for Gavin's new album only to be terribly disappointed. Unfortunately, it sounds over-produced and I won't hold my breath for the next album. Where is the soul and raw emotion that he expressed in the stripped version of the first album?

Gavin DeGraw's most recent album is the perfect mixture of blues, soul, rock n roll, and pop. A superb follow up to his 2004 album "Chariot", DeGraw does not disappoint, with poinient tracks such as "Cop Stop", "I Have You To Thank", and "Next To Me (Wait a Minute Sister)". This album is a must download/pick-up, no matter what your musical style preference, and be sure to look out for this album at the 2009 Grammy's.

i love gavin degraw and his music actually has meaning.

This is a awesome piece of work. Everyone knows in love with a girl but how many actually can get past it.If i had to pick one song to suum up the greatness of this album i would say untamed. I didnt like it the first time i heard it. But it has grown on me.

I hadn't heard of Gavin DeGraw until his song "In Love With a Girl" , and that song is uber-awesome i mean really check it out !!

When Chariot (and its equally full-filling Stripped counterpart) came out I immediately fell in love with Gavin's voice and creative melodies so I anxiously awaited his next album. Although Gavin is definitely still a talented artist, I am disappointed with this album. Instead of playing up his beautiful, soulful and at times somewhat bluesy voice, Gavin's vocals get swallowed up in typical mainstream sing-songy melodies in most of these newer songs. I hope his future work shows more of the originality of his former work and allows us to hear more of that amazing voice of his.

I love this album by Gavin Degraw! He's extremely talented. Don't go by which songs are popular. My personal favorites are "She Holds a Key", "Medicate the Kids", and "I have you to thank".

Gavin DeGraw's new self-titled album includes the great song "In Love With a Girl." The album was released in 2008. I haven't listened to the entire album yet, but "In Love With a Girl" is really good.

I LOVE this album, just as much or almost as much as his first. The style is a new feel, Gavin is truly experimenting and growing with his talent, creating beautiful songs. His voice never fails to amaze me. Some favorites are Cop Stop, Young Love, Cheated on Me, amd Next to Me (Wait a Minute Sister)

Catchy, relatable songs that are (for the most part) good songs for a sophomore album. 'In Love With a Girl' makes me smile. :) I was going to give it four and a half stars, so I wish iTunes had half-star ratings, but I was leaning mostly toward four stars because Gavin DeGraw's first CD, Chariot, was one of my favorite albums ever. STILL EXCELLENT.

WOW! i have been a huge gavin fan for 4 years and i was nervous that his next album would never be able to live up to the greatness of chariot. however, the album does not disappoint and i love EVERY single song which is really rare for me. if you like this album, check out nathan angelo- he's amazing as well! my favorite songs- let it go, she holds a key, medicate the kids

I definetly enjoyed his first album more....but this one isn't bad. He's still an amazing singer and song writer. :)

I came across Gavin in 2003 when Chariot was first released and gained even more appriciation for him when Chariot Stripped was released. However this album is over produced, unorigional, and so cookie cutter pop that there doesn't seem to be any Gavin lingering in the bylines of the album. I would much rather see him live, however it's hard for me to justify doing so when Gavin goes away for three years and returns with an album that seems rushed. He has not developed as an artist lyrically! Where are "Glass," "Control," and "Lay Me On The Water?" Those songs along with "Dancin' Shoes" and "Never the Same" are the essense of Gavin and the fact that he let the record company over rule everything he said to have stood for is not right! ps. for your sophomore album the self-titled title is not acceptable.

I was a Gavin Degraw fan back in 2003-04 when his first album was released, so I was extra happy that he was recording again. I heard him perform many of the songs from this album live and I immediately went out and bought it. It's absolutely excellent. It has a lot of quirky lyrics and unique melodies. Love it! Ballads are great, emotionally-charged songs and the more upbeat songs are great to perform in the shower. Way to go, Gav! =) It rocks

...I wish he would do more stripped songs! His lyrics are amazing and I think they get too washed out on this album by the background music. Just his voice and a piano is all I need...give us some more stripped songs Gavin!

His voice is so different. This song doesn't sound like something i hear everyday. he has a different style. Plus the song is quite catchy. I LOVE IT

I absolutely LOVE Gavin and I think his albums are the best!! The slower songs really get me attatched to him. I can't wait for another album!!!

1. In Love With a Girl - catchy, nice harmonies, radio friendly.....sounds a lot like I Don't Wanna Be 8 2. Next to Me - I love this. It reminds me of Chariot....killer harmonies....kind of bubbly 9 3. Cheated on Me - very catchy hook "I think you cheated on me" is repeated throughout the song....but I really don't like the rest of it 5 4. I Have You to Thank - pop-rock, kind of like Next to Me.....not a big fan of the lyrics 6 5. Cop Stop - VERY catchy.....nice lyrics, but the backups are too processed....this would be much better as acoustic....but just let the overall sound wash over you and the other parts are great 7 6. Young Love - freakin masterpiece.....epic lyrics... heartfelt 10 7. Medicate the Kids - anti-government rock.....surprising, but as always well done, catchy 8 8. Relative - slower, building momentum.....not particularly my favorite 7 9. She Holds a Key - So powerful, killer lyrics "Listen you sinner/ I 'm sinning too" BEST...this song is stoic 10 10. Untamed - in one word - Cute. hum it all day. 8 11. Let It Go - Slow, relaxing song....lyrics remind me of "over-rated". Great to listen to late at night 8 12. We Belong Together - Classic....this is a different version, more rock, but just as lovable. 9.5

Gavin's first album- Chariot had spectacular ballads, and organic upbeat songs that you got hooked on the first time you listened to them. But, since his big blowup on One Tree Hill, it seems his producers are considering more of the money than the music. "I Don't Wanna Be" was his biggest hit, and so the producers must have decided to make similar songs on the next ablum. This worked out. Money-wise. Indeed, the crowds like this new album more, and he's much more famous. But if you were a true fan of Gavin DeGraw, back when he was a real artist, singing songs like Belief, and Chariot, this album won't be for you. Don't get me wrong, the album is catchy, and Gavin's voice is as amazing as ever. The songs just seem to kinda mesh together, and I really miss his organic piano ballads which he lacks in this newer album. Gavin is no longer unique, and it truely saddens me, because "Chariot" is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Awesome cd! buy it! all of it they grow on you if you don't love them at first. Ive been waiting for him to release another album and he sure did it perfectly. I heard him on the one tree hill theme song way back when it started and have been following him ever since. His voice is so easy to listen to and he doesnt sound like every other guy.
