Do anything to get that dreaded "Album Only" thing off the title track. It's the best song on the album and you can't buy it. Make it $2 for all I care. I want to be able to buy "Shogun" the song SEPARATELY. Vote yes for the abolishment of the album only sticker

This is my favorite metal album ever! Shogun is a great cd from start to finish, and the song Shogun is probably one of my favorite songs. If you are just getting into metal, or Trivium, buy this CD!

Listened to down from the sky and loved it, then listened to the song shogun and inmidiatrly knew I had to buy the whole thing. But I hate that album only crap iTunes!! Still an awesome buy

i was able to buy this album after a friend showed trivium late last december, and then i was graced with seeing them live twice. hands down, my favorite band, and again, hands down, my favorite album.

Definately no Ralphing on this album. Good comeback from the crusade...But Paulo is right, that giant bear slaps hard.....

This album sick,it's a fusion of so many different elements.Death growls,thrash riffs,metalcore sreams,acoustic seactions,and comes out as really unique album,BUY IT!!!!!!!!!! some of the best tracks are shogun,he who spawned the furies,insurrection and kirisute gomen

the crusade dissapointed me so much that i almost lost all faith in this band, but they came back with an amazing album and totally redeemed themselves, deffinitely worth buying

This album is awesome! Unlike most bands, Trivium doesn't put any songs on their album that aren't good. The don't put any fillers. Every song rocks as hard as the next one. And I love how some songs are soft and some are screamo. This album is a definite buy.

the best of their work

This album has some decent metal songs. What really gets on my nerves are the cheesy voices their singer uses at times. It makes the album sound very dated and/or like butt rock. Tough guy, low voice talking? That was silly sounding even when the mighty Pantera's frontman Phil Anselmo would do it years ago. If you like Trivium, I'm sure you'll dig it. But their vocalist really needs to step into 2010 in some regards.

What a great album, a must buy.

I picked this album up about a month ago and I have yet to stop listening to it during every car ride or time lounging. The brilliance of metal songs based around Greek Mythology and Japanese culture is absolutely fantastic. Telling a story is what a song is all about and to tell a story about myths already made is a good basis for an album since the stories are already built into it. The solos are of course stellar as well as the drumming (as indicated in Kirisute Gomen and Of Prometheus and the Crucifix). As I am a man incredibly interested in both Japanese culture and Greek Mythology, I love this album and if you love either I assume you will love this album as well; however, if you are not a fan of either I assure you the metal music and talent of this band should more than suffice you appetite.

this is every metal heads dream trivium went back to there roots and screamed in this album and they sound better than ever the guitars sound sweet drums are amazing and the bass is pretty awsome to and the vocals are intense and brutal this is by far my favorite trivium album

I fell in love with this band with just one song " Down from the Sky". This album is definitely a must have if you love Metal. Buy It. Do It Now.

This album is great! It can't compare to ascendancy because it had so much innovations but this album is really really close, one of my favorite albums period. Epically brutal, wonderfully melodic, and awesomely dealing with Greek mythology and Japanese history. I wholly recommend it to anyone who likes metal.

This album is one of the best metal records out there along with ascendancy. The best tracks are the first 7. The others are unbelievable too. The least pleasing song on the album is shogun. If I were you, I'd get the special addition to the album cause it has more features and you can learn songs off the album. 5/5

I listened to shogun by this band this morning, and it was the first I had ever heard of them. I fell in love with the band right then. Then as I listened to some of the others like.. Down from the sky and into the mouth of he'll we march... I couldn't stop listening to them. They are an AMAZING band and any metal fann would love!!! -metal rulless!!!!-

hmm... i really liked this c.d. especially that they mostly based it off of greek mythology. if you haven't heard of this c.d yet, then i highly think you should go and get this C.D. it's REALLY good. but it's nothing like Ascendency or The Crusade.

not my favorite Trivium Album, but still not terrible. Iron Maiden Cover is epic though!!!!!

I got into Trivium about two years ago. I bought "The Crusade" after learning of the band in "Guitar World." As impressive as it was, I bought their back-catalog as well. Basically they have two styles. The "Ember to Inferno/Ascendacy sound," and "The Crusade" sound. "The Crusade" was like the Metallica album that never happened. Maybe if Cliff Burton had lived until today. The earlier albums could be called "Screamo" or "Thrash Metal with screamed vocals." The beauty of Shogun is that it combines these two sounds. The album has all of the technical beauty and rage of "The Crusade," and that more classic screaming but with a deeper death growl, and thick, thick guitar sound of "Ember to Inferno/Ascendacy." While the title says "this is an asian album," It really isn't. There are a few sections that might sound Japanese or something. But these sections are sparse. Instead Trivium just sounds like themselves. Just like they described to the public when they spoke about their new album. The songs are masterfully crafted. They hammer Classical Greek themes this time, actually. For instance, "Into the Mouth of Hell We March" is about Perseus and Euridice. "Of Prometheus and the Crucifix" compares Prometheus and Jesus in what they brought to the world and how they were punished for it. "Torn Between Scylia and Charybdis" and "He Who Spawned the Furies" also share the greek imagery. There are also some Biblical comparisons on this album. "Down from the Sky" compares the evils of Nuclear war with the miraculous victory Elijah had over the priests of Baal. In short, the best tracks are in my opinion....The whole album! I highly recommend this album to adults or Metal fans. I've been listening to this while I work. It's good to hear some real talent coming out of the Thrash/ Metalcore scene these days.

Very very good album. Trivium has always been 2 steps ahead of most metal bands and this album is a good showcase why. ALL the songs are good, and Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven is in the top ten of my favorite metal songs Ever.This album isn't as strong as Ascendancy, but it is as close as you can come without rehashing the same sounding stuff.

I can summarize this album into two words, Nerd Rock. I bet they get inspiration for the lyrics by playing The Legend of Zelda 'til four in the morning.

There music is to slow for my taste and I decided they are not worth the memory on my iPod.

dissappointing. not really worth it. go buy the older stuff its much better, not to say this is bad, but it pales in comparison. if you have a lot of money, buy this anyway

I listen to metal from Sweeden, Finnland, Germany and even from the British isles and the USA, and these guys sound awesome and have a original sound. They are one of my favorites.

This is pure EPIC, with a side of AWESOME. The only reason i didnt buy the whole album is because I have most of it already
