Woolfwood the amazing - Ok...

WE MISS JOHN

faedan - Lost there funk!

There doing good pop music but I loved there early stuff. R.i.P

Illini4846 - Chili peppers at some of its best

Red Hot Chili peps new album is so underrated. They have a wide variety of songs from fast, upbeat songs (Monarchy of Roses, Factory of Faith, Rain Dance Maggie) and slow (Brendan's Death Song) but it is not just the same with Josh. U should definitely see them on tour.

Skkizzle - Great Album Overall

When I first listened to this album, I'll admit I was a little disappointed. I listened through the whole thing expecting one or two immediate standout songs on par with "Under the Bridge" or "Snow" or "Californication", but I didn't find one besides "Adventures of Raindance Maggie" which had been released a month or two before. I was close to not even buying the album but I decided to listen to it again. On the second listen, I decided that the album was relatively decent and I bought it. By the third listen I had decided the album was very solid and I liked it overall. Now, after around eight months I've decided this album is AMAZING. Overall, the melodic interweaving of instruments are better than previous albums, and Anthony Kiedis is really on his game with nice vocal melodies and great lyrics. Although Klinghoffer may not deliver as impressive guitar as Frusciante, he has very nice melodic and rich playing as shown in songs such as "Meet me at the Corner" and "Annie Wants a Baby". Overall, this album really works and gets better and better every time you listen to it.

Musiclover!Whatever. - Some of the Best music out today! Love the Chili Peppers!!

At first listen i didn't feel connected with this album as much as their previous albums, but after listening to it a few times i have fallen in love with it!! Saw them in concert at the beginning of the summer and they put on an amazing show :)

Musiclover114133 - I am very happy with the new and fresh RHCP

I have had this album since the day it came out. I loved it from day one but I did miss John. I can tell Flea took a lot of the creativity space that John had when he was in the band. This album has a funky sound and a little bit more funky than their last three releases with John. I loved the vibe that John had with the band and was somewhat critical of Josh's playing in the album. But after hearing this album hundreds of times I see how great of an artist Josh is. I knew he was a great artist with John on albums such as Shadows collide with people and A sphere in the heart of silence and all of the other albums Josh and John had worked together on. This is a new side of Josh and a new side of the Red Hot Chili Peppers that I am happy to hear. I love songs like Meet Me at the Corner and Police Station, such great songs that tell great stories and hit me in an emotional place. Meet me at the corner is my favorite track off the album and a big reason for that is how the song gets so uplifting at the end. It was unexpected and great to hear. Songs such as Brendan's Death Song and Annie wants a baby both show a deep side of this new and fresh RHCP lineup and are a couple more highlights to this fantastic album. Monarchy of roses is the one song on this album that I would say touches on ground that is more expiremental, such as the verses in this song and the vocal effect on Anthony's voice. The time signature on Ethopia is crazy but the track is fantastic and one of my favorite basslines on the record. Even You Brutus is a great track as well and combines this shout vocal style along with singing and makes the track very refreshing to hear when you want to hear a lot of emotion within Anthony's voice. The only track I dont like so much is Dance, Dance, Dance. I feel this way because the guitar is really tranquil (and thats a good thing) but then the bass just dose not mesh well with it and the song was a lot more happy and "Dancy" then I expected. Chad Smith really carries this album very well. His drumming is fantastic like always but you cna really notice it here. If anyone dose not give credit to Chad for what he has done with the peppers well then you dont understand how crucial he is to the song writing process and how his energy sparks the band. I love his drumming on every track and its just obvious Chad gets better with age. Hey it's the Red Hot Chili Peppers as always they get a 5 out of 5

Johnny phairplay - It's an acquired taste.

You will not like it immediately, but eventually it will grow on you. I recommend Did I Let You Know, Ethiopia and Even You Brutus to start you off on this album.

Hotgirl179 - Sweet

Cool

shutupidontnneedanickname - exceptional record

as a megafan of RHCP i feel i may always be a little biased to loving everything they do. but forcing myself to be a little critical my main problem is that josh's guitar playing too often takes a backseat in this new band. his guitar solos are suttle and filled with loopy layered effects which sound awesome, but are not the guitar driven silky sweetness we all are used to with the great John Frusciante. that being said it is a good album with top notch songwriting and some of anthony's best vocals in his career, he has really grown comfortable as a singer. i love Flea's bass riffing whcih seems simple at the surface but is actually quite intricae as it fits in so well with the bands new sound. my only complaint is where is the slap! this is the first album that he does not slap AT ALL on i mean even by the way had a couple of slappy moments what is up with that? all in all the album is just as relaxed and jammy as it is choatic at some points which in my opinion is a perfect direction for the chilis. my only hope is that their sound becomes even more broader in future releases and that josh steps it up some more. Many people who dismiss the album as garbage just dont understand their new dynamic and just want them to shutup and play every track from Californication, the peppers are always finding new ways to construct their music as they move forward which to me makes them one of the most important rock bands out there right now. im saying 4 out of 5 but really i would give it 3.5

DblOhParker - ....wow....

I have listened to RHCP for the better part of 20 years now,and in that time you can hear and see RHCP grow and mature as artists. Anthony brings a level of emotion that we have not seen since I guess "scar tissue," it is (in every sense if the word) beautiful. "Police station" blew me away with the pain and tears woven into the sound and lyrics." This album is also loaded with an impressive amount of sounds from song to song, "did I let you know" is a great example of how they have grown in their music.

Weirdlove - longing for Frusciante...

I miss john so much. His hauntingly mezmerizing harmonies and searing guitar are sorely missed and OBVIOUSLY absent.

SlutsLoveCum - John Frusciante was the Red Hot Chili Peppers

I've grown up listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and they have always been far and away my favorite band. I loved everything from Mothers Milk to Stadium Arcadium, with Californication and By the Way probably being my favorites. I'm not going to say that this album had no good songs because there are a few songs that you'll want to hear again. However, for the most part, this album is completely forgetable. This just goes to show how much John meant to the RHCP. I love Anthony, Flea, and Chad but they can't do it without John. He took them to a whole another level. Josh is capable of decent guitar work but this album doesnt show that at all. Maybe, a miracle will happen and Frusciante will put an end to his second hiatus with the Peppers and return for one last album. That would be an album I would buy; this isn't.

AnonymousReviewerToday - Not the Same

I just don't feel the desire to listen to it over and over again as I have with past albums. I think the loss of Frusciante is bigger than originally thought. This album is a dud in my opinion.

Cougar Chen - 不错,就是喜欢红辣椒

不错,就是喜欢红辣椒

miguelfc55 - Blood Sugar Sex Magick

...was the last album by RHCP that I can listen to. The rest (and I REALLY have listened to most of it.) is just drivel - I do lament this fact with every album they release. It's alternative adult contemporary. Man, the RHCP used to be dangerous, funky, not something you'd play for your mom or that you could listen to with your mom. I understand getting older. I turn 40 this month and I'm not asking for "Funky Monks" or "Walking on Down the Road", "Special Secret Song Inside" or "Sexy Mexican Maid", but really - Anthony Keidis sounds pretty much the same on all the songs. The bass is...where? Meh. I gave it 2 stars, because I still dig everything pre-BSSM, but that's it. p.s. Stay FAR AWAY from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame covers - blech.

Msrace - Best band

Best song ever: Brendans death song

Tomservo416 - 👎

In most of the songs the guitar is too quiet. The bass is too quiet in some songs too. That gets annoying, I want to hear everything fine without cranking up the volme so high! Along with that these songs are too mainstream and poorly done. This just isn't the kind of stuff I want to hear from the Peppers. This is the only album I don't like.

Kyle Martin_18 - not bad

i wouldnt go as far to say it was a bad album, but i dont think it is as good as Stadium Arcadium, or RHCP greatest hits album but overall i thought it was good was pretty god.

Turk133 - Not Bad...But still

So, elephant in the room. John Fusciante wasn't on this record for guitar, and we are all very sad about that. Musically, I felt like Flea and Chad pretty much carried this record on their shoulders, I felt like most of the new guitar parts were more auxiliary rather than the melody like John's parts were. Listen to any track except for Brenden's Death Song, Flea's bass line is almost always the melody while the guitar's are almost just there for decorative chords. Overall, it wasn't a terrible album by any means, the music was still good. But for Red Hot Chili Peppers, it was a step back, but an understandable one due to having lost Fusciante. Final words? JOHN COME BACK! WE MISS YOU!

Red hot chill peppers#1 fan - Boss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boss just too boss!

Ivan Dario Cortes - RHCP!

Nothing more and nothing less

weezy biggest fan - RHCP!

Been listening to this band forever, so if your a fan of RHCP don't hate on there new material grow with them and stay loyal ! ✌

Kiran Pande - Great addition to an already impressive music catalog

Plenty of catchy choruses, dynamic bass from Flea as always, and an impressive variety songs on one album. Each song seems to tell a story, most of them very powerful and meaningful. This album surpasses every expectation.

p4g4n - Forgetable

The album is all filler with the possible exception of Look Around. Listen to Blood Sugar Sex Magick again instead of this lame offering.

PinkPrincess69 - Back on top!

Wow..these guys are awesome musicians! This album is RHCP now...but still worthy to be mentioned with the other great RHCP albums (which is really all of them!)

Aeroplane Captain - Average for the RHCP

I thought it was funny seeing someone posted in a review that the RHCP's stuff never changes. Go listen to their first few albums and become educated on the history of the band. That being said, I've loved everything between Mothers Milk and Stadium Arcadium, but this one just misses with me. I understand they're long past their days of funk/punk rock and wearing tube socks on their junk at concerts, but this is just too soft for me at times. I have no trouble listening to Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magick or Californication repeatedly. Those albums really show their edgy sound and catchy lyrics, along with the awesome bass and guitar riffs. No other band in history has a more talented bass player in my opinion than the RHCP have in Flea. But i honestly have trouble listening to this whole album without stopping to take a break, it's just simply not the same sound, I'll give Monarchy of Roses a good grade but after that its just too mainstream and average for the RHCP.

Sabrina Slavin of VA - good, but i really miss their old sound :(

i miss otherside, under the bridge, snow, dani california, cant stop, by the way, scar tissue, ALL OF THEM. please make more of you old songs :((((!!!!! as for this, i kind of like it. good job. :) LOVE YOU RHCP

INFOWARS48 - OOOOOOOF

I ALWAYS felt bad for FLEA.....

Bardock SSJ - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

THIS IS MY FAVORITE BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total Putz - Sorry RHCP

Do a concert for Obama Campaign Workers and I am gone...

Sweetsept2189 - Its alright...

I do appreciate the evolution of their sound and their contribution to the music world. However, I think this album may be my least favorite. I personally think they should have retired after Stadium Arcadium, that was a fantastic album and John F gave his absolute best. Im With You sounds like a compilation of Californication and By The Way b-sides, those albums were great and all, but the point is that its already been done. I just feel like this album was rushed and over promoted for the lack of effort in the quality that came out.

Shawanosnow - Very good

As always!!!

Mr. London - YEAH

I just can not seem to get enough RHCP…. This album has some classic cuts in particular "Brendan's Death Song" moved me but they are all hit and production is awesome. Highly recommended.

IARAB123 - AMAZED

I love this whole album well worth 11 dolars and as always, the RHCP seem to elevate there reputation and quality!!!!

NG794 - Nay....

I just don't like this album. I won't say it's terrible but I like the other albums better. There was just something about Josh's solos that made the band that much better.

coldstack - Not a big fan

The red hot chilli peppers is one of my fave bands. I just don't like this album. It's different. However, brendons death song and rain dance Maggie are terrific songs.

warbuck1 - Not the same

Compared to any other album they've made, this is total garbage. The rhcp have gone from some of the worlds best musicians to just another average mainstream band. What's missing? John Frusciante, one of the best guitarists that ever lived. I'm really disappointed that they think its satisfactory to replace him with someone as bad as Josh Klinghoffer, he's an average guitarist at best and is not even remotely compable to John. You can tell the band relies on the singer bassist and drummer almost completely now and its just not the same.

Shaniepatrick - I'm With You

I'm going to see u at The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota can't wait!!!!!! Since they came out with this great album I have been listening to " Meet Me at the Corner" a lot even though I used to hate it!!! But the thing that RHCP is showing is that they have been having a lot of fun being a band and being new and a lot of peoples favorite band!! But in this album they express a lot to me!! It makes me more open to people and shows me more love and care against relationships!! So what I'm saying is that they inspired me a lot these last couple of years with new songs and having fun with writing and making songs!! That's what made me make a band with my buddies!! We are called "The Last Remaining" Monarchy of Roses 4.9/5 Factory of Faith 5/5 Brendan's Death Song 5/5 Ethiopia 5/5 Annie Wants a Baby 4.8/5 Look Around 5/5 The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie 5/5 Did I Let You Know 5/5 Goodbye Hooray 5/5 Happiness Loves Company 5/5 Police Station 5/5 Even You Brutus? 4.7/5 Meet Me at the Corner 5/5 Dance, Dance, Dance 4.9/5

BayAreaDBoy - Great Album, Guitarist Down

As it was made public, John quit the band which allowed them to go back to their funk roots. The first producer they ever had was a funk producer, freakey styley and so on got more towards rock, im happy they went a different way and let flea run wild

Mertas267 - Underrated

This is the chili peppers at their best! Josh Klinghoffer is not the same, but he is still a worthy replacement for John. If you listen to this album in its entirety, i think youd be surprised. There are fast upbeat songs (Monarchy of Roses), and slow, melodic ballads (Brendan's Death Song). The only song i dont like is Even You, Brutus? which sounds a bit too much like eminem. Other good tracks are Police Station, Look Around, Ethiopia, Rain Dance Maggie, Meet Me At The Corner, and Did I Let You Know. This isnt the end, its a new begi ning.

paparoach rocks - Amazing Album Idiot Fans

I read a comment stating that the fan now doesn't like RHCP because they played a show in support of Obama. Thats extremely infantile. "They don't like what I like so I don't like them" -Fool

lopezac - Not a new a beginning, but a continuation to their greatness!

Forget for a second that Frusciante left the band, and try to accept the fact that he Chili Peppers backbone lies on Kiedis' heartfelt sometime fractured voice, Smith's perfectly solid groove and the unmistakably, infectious funky bass lines of Flea. Yes, in RHCP's career, guitar players come and go, and while with Frusciante they entered the contention of America's greatest band by creating three masterpieces (post BSSM), Josh and I'm with you feels like a new beginning that is not that new, but us still great. On the first song alone, "Monarchy of Roses", you get all you expect from the Peppers, from the melody to the dancing beats, from the dude-poetic lyrics of Kiedis to the psychedelic-Hendrix-influenced guitar soloing....John who? Bredan's death song is possibly the best most emotional RHCP song since Under the Bridge, not to mention that the video is exquisite. But the real beauty of the experimentation of this record comes at the end. Did I let you know is the perfect summer song, if this doesn't make you dance, check your pulse. Even you Brutus sounds like Flavor Flav circa Public Enemy teamed up with Fishbone, it sounds bizarre, but it works. Dance dance dance is a great way to finalize album that had you dancing all the way through. The Chili Peppers are creating music that is very hard to find nowadays; it's fresh, experimental, melodic, and very alternative. Maybe they already won the contention of America's greatest rock band, we just haven't realize it yet.

Niiick47 - I'm with you chili peppers

This is a great album. Period. People have to stop expecting the chili peppers to release another californication, those days are over. The chili peppers have grown and developed over the years and so we should have to. Take the music in. Give josh time treat this album like its johns first album and go out and see a chili peppers show. the guy rocks!

Dinks197 - Dear Johnny

John Frusciante is the RHCP's savior. He saved them twice before and my guess is he'll save them again when the time comes...

Submit to the Reviewer - It grows on you

Initially I disliked this album tho as I listened to it it grew on me. I find it addicting at times and can't help not loving it. It's definitely kidda different from their old stuff but just as good.

Kneedragr85 - Greatest Band Ever!

Awesome album as always!!!!

Chaos haivksbskvkshsojsjdo naivjxbdcnskdp nsk - RHCP ROCKS!!!!!!

One of my favorite bands and one of the best rock bands of all time!!!!! I've been waiting for an album since 2007 and I could not ask for something any better!!!!!! ALSO THEY PREFORMED IN MY COUNTRY LAST MONTH!!!!!!!!!!! GO RHCP!!!!!!!!!!

Makboy101 - Classic stuff

Title says it all ...

A. Aaaaaa - They're back!

This album shows that the chili peppers can still make excellent music, even with a new guitarist, josh has done a great job replacing John. Love this album and would recommend it to any long time chili pepper fans

Beemokirby - enh

The only really good one was "look around". They made a bad move replacing fruciante, and overall, the band seems to have lost a lot of its pep.
