Back from the Dead by Chief Keef Album Info
Sosa’s self-released mixtape marked the debut of “I Don’t Like,” the song that brought national attention to the controversial then-16-year-old rapper and the rest of the Chicago drill scene. Produced entirely by Young Chop, the influential collection features a Soulja Boy remix of the local hit “3Hunna.” Chief Keef named the mixtape Back From The Dead due to an incident on on Dec 2, 2011 where Chief Keef was spotted on 6100 block of South Indiana (Frontstreet the hood Chief Keef claims) holding a coat over his hands that were in front of his waistband. When a police officer tried to stop and question Chief Keef, the rapper dropped the coat, flashed a blue-steel handgun and sprinted through the vacant lot next door, according to police reports. When officers gave chase, Chief Keef who was 16 at the time, twice turned and pointed the pistol at the officers, according to the police report. The officers “discharged their weapons” but missed. This incident lead people to believe Chief Keef was shot and killed, but in reality he was arrested and was locked up in Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center where he was subsequently released, but to be on house arrest on Dec 30, 2011. When appearing on the MTV show Ridiculousness on Mar 21, 2020, Keef spoke about why he named the mixtape Back From The Dead.
