Rock music often times doesn't have a meaning. But this band shows that you can have a deep relationship with God. Also, most of my favorite songs are from Rise, and the price isn't bad at all. Great buy, I recommend it strongly! ☺️

Do some of you guys not know that skillet has been out since the 90s???

Skillet has adopted the same producer Red has recently dumped. I love Skillet and most of their message up to date but honestly the lyrics in this new album "Rise" are awful and the music behind it is shallow and repetitive. John, Kory, and the rest of the gang have made a sad mistake in choosing a producer... I just hope they make the smart decision and go back to their more Christian metal sound and lyrics. PS: I understand trying something new... But you need to drop this style and regroup if you plan on being anything more than another bland spam secular group in the future.

I thought this album of Skillet was really good but I really miss their old sound. With that said I believe it was I right move to change their sound because if they kept doing the same thing over and over the audience would get bored, so they made the right move with this album. The lyrics give you a sense of reawakening, it gives you a new perspective. So I truly believe this is the new Skillet, hope to hear more of it.

I meant to write this review a year ago, but anyways, as the title of this review says, it gets old quick. The melodies are pretty catchy and nice, but the lyrics sound like something ripped out of a middle school kid's diary. Also, third album in a row where the wood string instruments sound synthetic. Collide used actual violins, cellos, you name it, and each pull on the string was a pull on my heart. The fake orchestra here just sounds like the MS Paint of music.

First I had bought Not Gonna Die, and I loved it! I went to winterjam in 2015, and then bought Sick of It. I loved that one too. I finally decided to get the whole album, and it was instantly my favorite album by the band! There wasn't a single song in the album that I didn't like, so this was a rockin album!

This is one of my favorite albums they've ever come out with!!! I 100% recommend!!! Some of my favorites from this album are sick of it, good to be alive, and not gonna die. I love all of the songs though except for one or two that I don't care for too much but other than that it's amazing!!!

Skillet is my favorite band because the music is exceptional and the love of God is very, very inspiring. I have loved it for more than a year and a half and that is the longest I have ever loved an artist or album like this. Usually I am liking something else in a week or two, but right now I am just dying until their newest album comes out next summer!!! Skillet is the best Rock band in Christian music and (in my rankings) is pretty up there in today’s overall Hard Rock bands. They always amaze you in their concerts and brought us two of the most amazing albums with ‘Awake’ and my personal favorite, ‘Comatose.’ When ‘Rise’ came out, I only liked about 3 to 4 songs. Compared to other bands, that’s great. But considering it’s Skillet, it’s not what I was expecting. Before you buy the full album, consider just getting the ones you like best. I love you Skillet, but time for the next album.

Honestly this album sucked harder than Kim K with Ray J. And now I can't even get it off my phone because of the cloud. Smh

You know, i spent time reading everyone's reviews and yes... its hard to top some of their past music. But, this is still a solid album. Thank you guys for bringing quality christian music to a secular world.

This is an amazing album! Even when I thought they couldn't top there last album they did!

I definitely love these songs but who ever produced this album should be fired. There is way to much compression added to everything. it sounds really quiet when compared to other songs such as awake and alive and comatose.

This is an awesome album. My second favorite by them, after Comatose. It holds many amazing songs on it with a sound that makes my ears ring, in a good way. Now time to review the songs. :) 1. Rise 10/10- My all time favorite on this album. It's hard all the way. Plus I like the addition at the ending. 2. Sick Of It 9.5/10- An amazing song after Rise and it starts the album with a good beat. You won't get sick of it! 3. Good To Be Alive 8/10- It's a great song but I've heard some songs by Skillet that sounds somewhat like it, but still an amazing song to perk me up. 4. Not Gonna Die 10/10- Started off with the intro from Good To Be Alive, it is heavy and good paced with an amazing addition of Jen's vocals! 5. Circus For A Psycho 9.5/10- It has an amazing chant with additional vocals put in the chorus and screams at you all the way! Plus it fades into American Noise surprisingly good. 6. American Noise 10/10- The first song I heard off this album and it set my expectations high. And it puts me in a good mood every time I hear it! 7. Madness In Me 7/10- Honestly, my least favorite song on the album, but it is still amazing! It's just not my thing, but I highly recommend it! 8. Salvation 9/10- An amazing way to show off Jen's amazing vocals mixed with John's and keeps me on edge the whole song. 9. Fire And Fury 8.5/10- A nice piece of work by the band, the song keeps playing in my head and will not leave! 10. My Religion 8/10- I love the rift of the song and how John's voice fits with the song really well! 11. Hard To Find 10/10- An amazing song that I didn't get into until I heard it some times, now it's on of my favorites and I love chanting with it and it's on going mood. 12. What I Believe 9/10- An amazing end to this new publication of art by skillet and I can't stop listening. I also love the bonus tracks: Battle Cry, Freakshow, and Everything Goes Black. All in all, it's an album worth getting!

I've seen them twice, watched all podcasts they've done, and listened for almost ten years. They are real people, honest and caring, and great musicians. This album is just a good as anything they have done. Keep rockin' Skillet!

Skillet should really come out with a TOP 20 album. With all the great songs they've made over the past year it would be EPIC!!!

Skillet are the best

I have most of Skillet's albums, first on CD then a couple from iTunes. I really like Collide and Awake. This new album has some good songs, but it just seems, well, average. I know you can't always have a great album, but the prior 2 I like much better. Also - I am having a terrible time with the files. I downloaded them from iTunes, but there are duplicate files it wants to download from the cloud, at lower bitrate. (these are tracks 5, 8, 11, and 12). 2 or 3 of them have the wrong song label. I keep going back and forth using iTunes to delete them from phone, then try to reinstall. If I delete them and only use iCloud to redownload, the duplicates are there and tracks 1-4 are not downloadable. Ugh.

I just absolutely love skillet there are just so amazing with share Gods love on fire. Best album at all time and I really love there songs it truly help me with my faith with Jesus :). They have a message. Their songs are relatable when all you feel is anguish. Their music will save you and give you hope that you have a reason to live and are not "worthless". The vocals are beautiful and understandable. When you sing along, you feel like they're describing your life story, that someone finally feels the same. This album makes me just.. speechless (in a good way of course). Please support them. They deserve to remain in the music industry. I just wish they were more famous.

Rise is my favorite Skillet song ever! There's a reason why Skillet starts with skill!

Skillet! You didn't just bring hope to my heart. You brought the Bible if I am not incorrect, isn't that dragon suppose to be Wormwood? Well that is what I thought. But I loved it all I saw it in the point of view of Revelations. People if you don't like the album then don't complain, because it is the perfect album. Skillet keep on with this amazing piece of art and please come to Puerto Rico. And if you think the girl is complaining then no guys this girl is plainly fighting for her life, in Rise demons are trying to fight her, and in Not Gonna Die well for God's graceful sake it's a mother***** dragon(Wormwood, if you have a question read Revelations 8: 10-12) Thanks Skillet for giving me more and renewed faith :) love you guys.

I have all of Skillets music and it's so cool to see them evolve and adjust to make their music relevant. This is the first time Skillet basically told a story from the beginning to the end and I LOVE IT!! I also really enjoy how each person in the band is given a chance to shine: Seth Morrison's guitar is the star is Circus for a Psycho, Jen Ledgers vocals shine out in quite a few songs such as Salvation, Korie Cooper wrote and orchestrated Fire and the Fury, and of course Jon Cooper either wrote or co wrote every song and his voice just SHINES. My favorite song is Not Gonna Die, what a message!! It's all a Beaut!

This is the best album Skillet has ever released! Comatose, Awake, and now RISE....they are just getting started! Watch out world!

Skillet did a awesome job on this album. It was not only some of the best music I have heard, but it helped me through a lot of tough times. The album mixes it up while still being spoken through the Bible. Some people might disagree with me, but I think this was one of the best albums.

This is a wonderful album. Skillet is an awsome band and you should definetly check them out! If you like rock music then Skillet is for you!

So, I'm somewhat new to listening to Skillet. I'm a 36 yr old mother and my 15 yr old introduced me to their music last year. First I had ever heard of them was from their Awake album and I was conflicted at first. This is coming from a soft or "hip/hop" Christian music listener. "Harder" music is not something I have ever really ever gotten into. Other than some AC/DC when I was a teenager. However, I fairly quickly became a fan. And then Rise came out and my son just HAD to have it and I got addicted QUICKLY. It seriously is about the ONLY music I listen to in my truck. Side note on that...I have a very built up sound system in my truck and I BLAST "Rise" up at ANY chance I have. I realize a lot of Skillet fans may be more used to this style of music than I am, but just my personal opinion is I think they are my second favorite band....EVER. The only band I like more is Newsboys (circa. Peter Furler). But I digress. I have seen some awful reviews on this album from self proclaimed "hardcore" fans and while I honestly cannot judge Skillets past albums as I have only really listened to Rise and Awake, I have a hard time believing anyone could think this album is so awful IF you're a true Skillet fan. I feel it has some nice, hard sounds and it also has some nice melodic sounds as well. Some of the guitar work in "Circus of a Psycho" I feel are AWESOME. My favorite track is "Fire and Fury". True, I do feel they have distanced themselved from strong Christian messages, although it is not entirely wiped out. Especially in "My Religion". And can I just say...I LOVE Jen Ledger! I love her voice (although when listening via headphones I can hear AutoTune being used on her voice which is a bummer) but then I read some on her and how young she is and what she has done and I'm just blown away by her. So, do I feel "Rise" is a let down? NOT EVEN A LITTLE. This is truly my FAVORITE album in it's entirety. From ANY artist. There is not a single song that I don't like. My only caviat is "Madness in Me" and it's not even that I don't like that song, it's just that once in a while I will skip that song. This almost the only album I really ever listen to.

This is probably the best album that skillet has done and I believe this album is one of the many that will make skillet the best band of the past 2 decades. Just one persons opinion.

It's definitely a decent album, but not their best honestly. Awake and Comatose were stronger, but regardless this is still the Skillet we know. Personal favorites of the album: "Rise" and "Not Gonna Die".
