A well-produced and brilliantly performed collaboration between pop-jazz-country artist Norah Jones and punk rocker Billie Joe Armstrong. The quality of the performances speaks well for the likely quality of the entire album.

What happens as you approach closer to the point of midlife crisis? You start to appreciate 'true' country rock n' roll such as the Everly Brothers. Listening to tales of possible confrontation with the law, romantic heartaches, and countless empty bottles of liquor that follows somehow relieves our pain. Due to an era where digital instrumention is becoming more popular, it is becoming more refreshing to hear such raw, more Americana music such as this cover album of the Everlys. Billie Joe and Norah seems like an unconventional combination but, as witnessed from the first two songs streamed online so far - "Long Time Gone" and "Silver Hair Daddy of Mine", it seems to work. (I'll be brutally honest to say this might be more in thanks to Norah, who has dabbled with country renditions in the past; a.k.a. The Little Willies. Whereas Billie Joe seems a bit out of place in this type of genre). With that said, regardless of whose idea it was, I truly think this project should have been named "Norah and Billie Joe" but that is just me being nitpicky. One thing I do know is that this release will hold me over until Norah's next album release. Billie Joe and Green Day? They released three different albums, Uno, Dos, Tres, within a same year, none of which I find particularly memorable. Enough said.

I was a little worried about BJ doing country music but hearing the track it sounds really good. It's a good track for just kicking too.

A very beautiful pair to duet. Both compliment each other through vocal brilliance. Long Time Gone is a marvellous tune to relax to, instant bliss. 10/10, would recommend.

This will do wonders for any female OR male fan of Billie Joe. Their voices really mesh. It is throwback chilled out lovey music. It's almost as tasty as Poprocks and Coke.

Just listened to Long Time Gone...and WOW!!!! I KNEW all these years Billie Joe had more to him than meets the eye! THIS album will finally showcase what he's had hiding just under that punk spiked haired surface all along...and Nora is brilliant as always. They compliment each other so well... Smooth, beautiful harmonies....I can't wait to buy the album! PS) I'm predicting a Grammy nod already! ( yes it's that good!)

Great album of Everly Brothers classics. These two people, who are from such different ends of the spectrum have taken these songs from a different time and really created something very special. Brilliant simplicity and I would like to hear more. Wonderful Wonderful!!!!!!!

I'm too young for the Everly Brothers, and really don't care for them that much. That said, Norah and Billy Joe do an excellent cover of "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us" with just as good harmonizing and a richer sound, probably in part to better recording technology and modern technique. That being said, I'm still not interested, and would buy the original version first if I adored this type of music. People who love folkie country and soft ballads will love "Foreverly." Fantastic title, BTW.

This is absolutely fantastic! I love both bodies of work, and together they create something new and exciting. I hope this isn't the last time they work together.

I didn't think they would be able to pull it off! I was proved wrong, it sounds great.

First the negatives, too few tracks for this brilliant project. Also, “Here to get my baby out of jail,” was one I was looking forward to and out of all the tunes to put a twist on, I wish it weren’t this. Stil, the song is good, it may make you cry. If you’re a fan of the Everly Brothers (I was very young when I got a 20 song collection), Billie Joe or Norah Jones, BUY THIS ALBUM. If you fall into the first or “all the above” you’ll be shocked at the beauty and maybe have your eyes opened to a different genre and time. If you fall into the latter two categories, you will be shocked at what they have come up with and I bet you buy at least one if not the whole collection of Everly Brothers tunes. Beautiful.
