I liked the dubstep more than the trap. but there are some good songs here like ease my mind and try it out.

When I first heard Skrillex was releasing a new album, I was thrilled. I had loved his music for a long time at that juncture. My all-time favorites of his were Bangarang, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, My Name is Skrillex, Right In, Breakn' a Sweat, and Summit, I loved their rhythm and beat drops. So when this album was released, I listened to each one, and I have to admit, I was extremely disappointed. I expected better from him. Hopefully his next album will be better. 😕

Some of the songs I don't really like and are repetitive but some of em really are good. I did like his old stuff better but this is a step in the right direction.

All is fair in brostep is so amazing, I love zomboy and his tracks so that instantly leads me into liking that song. Recess is one of my favorite songs EVER! It has a trap like mix-mash; AND I FREAKING LOVE TRAP! Third off... You know what, Sonny all of your songs on this album are just amazing. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, KEEP THIS NEW STUFF YOUR DOING GOING ON. YOU ARE AMAZING SONNY!!!

When artists are featured on a track they are recognized for it EXAMPLE it should read (Dirty Vibe ft. diplo, CL & GDragon) why is there no mention of their collaboration on the track?

This was such a great album! The music is amazing and so are the collaborations with other artists like CL and G-Dragon. Have these songs on replay :)

Why are lots of the reviews I'm reading say they don't like this album because it's not like the old Skrillex, with huge bass drops, and things like that. Yes, I know it doesn't sound exactly like what Skrillex used to produce, but music is art, and this art is amazing! In my opinion Skrillex's new sound is great. Ease My Mind, Dirty Vibe, Recess, and All is Fair in Love and Brostep are great songs. With EDM you also have a lot of space to experiment, or "change your voice", so to speak. Skrillex is trying something new, something I hope he'll stay with in the future. And I love it.

Haven't bought an album since The Big Bang. Same beats, same electronic noise progressions. No difference. I would not buy this album if your wanting something different from skrillex.

All I hear are noises

This can get stuck in your head which is an acomplishment for dubstep since it usually all just sounds the same so I'd say well done.

The album is okay but it's not like Bangarang. “Ease My Mind” is probably the best track in the album. Try it out already came out. With. Remixes. So that's one bad thing. And who the heck is yelling over “Recess”!!!! It sounds ridiculous. Plus Dirty Vibe is like a rap song. ¿¿¿¡ Ya so The whole Zomboy thing, OMG!!!! The whole album is kinda iffy. SKRIllEX, just go back to the good stuff that made you famous. Leave the trap to Diplo, and leave the rap to EMINEM, and take care of the dubstep.

I am not impressed with this album at all. There are only 1 or two songs that I find are just okay. I don't feel pumped up like I did on his previous albums. I am pretty dissapointed.

Just amazing

this album was a good collection with diverse songs. people dont understand that skrillex didnt change his style really... the people he did this album with like diplo and other artists influenced the way it came out... if he did songs with kill the noise and sirah again it would be the same result as bangarang, right in, promises, etc. people just need to know that he is a good artist and is going through a revolution of not so popular music... he did some hip hop and trap music in this album to attract a new audience and satisfy more people.

This is the worst album I've ever heard. All songs sound the same too. Anybody can sit at some electric thing and press a button. It made me want to 😭, I'd rather eat💩.

RECESS!!!!!!!

This album is not like Skrillex's other EPs, which are just head bangers all the way through. This album tells a story with meaning, and explores many other styles and genres throughout. I think this change is what Skrillex needed. He takes a fresh, new approach on his music.

Y’know, this album isn’t perfect by a long shot. (F*** That, looking at you.) But for what it is, it’s worth your money. And it is some good dub step. Watch for the drop on All is Fair. It will leave your head spinning.

Honestly, I love Skrillex. I think he is amazing. But, to tell you guys the truth, I think that it's great how he also made different songs besides drum step and dub step. He also made hip hop and a whole lot of other stuff I can't explain. But anyways, I love his all his albums, especially, "Recess". Great job Skrillex. Keep up the good work.😀

So the new Skrillex album is out. Is it good? Is it bad. Let 's find out, with a song by song review #1: All is Fair Love and Brostep This is a great start to the album. It's fast paced and and is constantly changing, which I like. (4/5) #2: Recess Amazing. If this Skrillex did one thing with this album, it was focus on beat drops rather then bass drops. It's change that I'm not exactly ok with. But if he was going to do it, I'm glad he did it like this. He focused on the sound rather then the beat. And it just melts my ears. (5/5) #3: Stranger Another great song. It sounds really warped and distorted but the beat just make me want to dance, which is the first time since Rock n Roll that a Skrillex song made me want to dance. (4/5) #4: Try it Out Probably the only song in the album with a proper bass drop and it shows that Skrillex can still make a fantastic drop. This song, like All is Fair Love and Brostep, keeps pumping up the energy throughout the song and it works really well. (4/5) #5: Coast is Clear The album has been really good so far, so what does Skrillex do? Give us the worst song he's ever made. This song is terrible. It fails as Dubstep/Brostep song and as a rap song. This song is so boring and the lyrics are really stupid and lazy. The only good thing about this song is the beat makes it kind of catchy. But other than that, this is Skrillex at his worst. (1/5) #6: Dirty Vibe The first minute and a half of this song is really good. But then we get, another rap section. And this one is as bad as the previous one. Except this time, the lyrics are better but it's less catchy which makes it so bland. This song could have been really good but the rapping just ruins it for me. (2/5) #7: Ragga Bomb This song is good. But that's it. It's not bad by any stretch of the word, but it's not amazing. The only really good parts are the drops themselves. They're pretty great but it's nothing that will be in Skrillex's greats. (3/5) #8: Doompy Poomp I used to not really like this song. But since I first listened to it, it has kind of grown on me. It very plain, but half way through the song after the "boying" it gets pretty good, with an ear melting chorus. It's okay but like Ragga Bomb it's not one of Skrillex's best. (3/5) #9: F**k That Oh my goodness, I love this song. And I really don't know why. I can't really explain it. I can see people not really liking this song-as it feels like filler for the album, as, it is short, and not really grand-but to me it's fantastic, and my personal favorite song on this album. (5/5) #10: Ease my Mind This song's alright. The vocals are really good, but everything else in the song just seems like it's missing something. Like Raaga Bomb, it's good, but not one of the best. (3/5) #11: Fire Away This song is a fantastic closer for the album. The part after the vocals just melts my ears and really gets into your soul. And when it's on piano it sounds beautiful and soothing. F**k That is my favorite song on the album, this is my second. (5/5) Final Thoughts: Overall, this album good, but slightly disappointing. The album has good songs, but the okay to bad songs almost out number the good songs (5:6). I think it's worth buying, but just keep an open mind when listening. If I can praise Skrillex on one thing, it's that he innovates, and this album is no different. (3/5) (P.S. I don't hate rap music).

At first, Sonny was like, buh baaaaaaa rah rah rah urpy urp ido rewerr!!! But now, he's like, dun dun dun dun dun doon doon dun dun... And then at the end of the song, he's like, just messing with the original repeat of one sound making it sound weirder than it was for him. Some say he grew up, but I say he's just plain old changed! But still... He's skrillex, my idol and hero, and I will say from the heart that he still makes some pretty nice music if you ask me, just not as many sounds now, just one sound being repeated over and over at a fast pace... But still he's an AMAZING MAN!!!

While I'm not saying that I like every song on this album, Try it Out, Recess, and Ease My Mind are some of my favorite tracks of his. Especially Ease My Mind. That is just a masterpiece of a song. Everyone that didn't like this album says things like "I didn't like it because it's not like his old stuff." Ok well we have enough songs that sound like his old stuff so do we really need anymore of them. Ever think that maybe Skrillex enjoys challenging himself by branching out to create something new and unique? I like Bangarang too so rage about that too I guess. His songs are just on a whole nother level compared to other EDM artists. I end up coming back to his stuff all the time because I just get tired of all the other generic EDM tracks that are out there. Skrillex is one of a kind and I love that. Keep it up man, someone out there in the world still appreciates your hard work!

It's not a great album. But some good songs.

I enjoy listening to all of Skrillex's music, but just listening to this album reminded me of Kesha's Tick Tock. This music should be listed as Hip-Hop instead of Dance. Skrillex is NOT a pop artist! Hope Skrillex can improve in his music because right now, hes not doing good as he used to. 1/5

Incredible grooves and nice beats! Skilled changes it up a bit from pure dubstep to funk pop, but I mean c'mon?! Who would make nothing but dubstep for their whole life?!?! I certainly wouldn't. Highly highly highly recommend to give it a listen

This album is my favorite album of the year, and I have seen some pumped up albums this year. It took me a long time to review, but I was busy. AIFILAB, Recess, Stranger, Try It Out, Dirty Vibe, Ragga Bomb, Doompey Poomp, F--- That, and Ease My Mind are my favorites. The unmentioned tracks are not that good. That's my two cents, but I will always support my boy, Sonny Moore! #KeepItComing

Ok let me start this off with I am a fan of Skrillex, and his dubstep is some of the best I have ever heard, but this album is a tad disappointing, considering only a portion are actually dubstep. Recess is ok, and All Is Fair In Love And Brostep is a good song, but the rest are just ok. There are many different genres in this track, but I like it better when Skrillex just sticks to his insane dubstep tracks. Stranger is sort of like EDM, so I do kind of like it. Dirty vibe is sort of like trap, which I find kind of catchy, but the lyrics/rapping section ruins it. The album is good, but a few songs I am disappointed on. Still a fan of him though!

Hey guys Abandon Ship is out

Liked a lot of the tracks once I listened all the way through them. Some of the vocal stuff doesn't suit my liking. That's just my opinion. But when Sonny does his vocal chop thing it's absolutely epic! He doesn't need to hire outside vocalists to rap or sing in his tracks. My favorite parts are when he uses his own vocals and chops/pitches the hell out of them. It's crazy how good he is at rhythmic tonal stuff. His bass drops fall under the same category....except sound texture and complexity play a roll as well.

This is 90% garbage.

I'm so upset! I just started listening to skrillex last year, and I LOVED him. His old songs were PERFECT. But now... I'm so disappointed! It's to much hip hop n rap. You can hear the difference of his new songs, to Rock n Roll will take you to the mountain or his old songs. But really! This is terrible! I loved ️skrillex before, but now... I don't think I'll ever listen to this garbage.

As a long time Skrillex fan, this album shocked me. Not in a bad way either. I've been following his music for 5 years now and I'm glad to see him test his potential. Don't look at this as him giving up, see it as an opportunity to stick with him and give him positive vibes so he can continue to give us the music we crave.

(A letter to Skrillex, from a devoted fan) Skrillex, you are freakin awesome. You helped me explore dubstep: a genre I couldn't understand and, quite frankly, hated with a passion. Your blending of reggae, EBM, rock and hip-hop made me fall madly in love with the chaotic beauty that dubstep embodies. That being said, your new album isn't really that great. There are only a few songs that I LIKE, none that I LOVE and all the rest are rubbish. (I bought the “Try It Out EP” so I’m kinda over that one.) Every album an artist puts out is usually some evolution of either themselves, their styles or both... You seem to have regressed with this work, and I'm gravely disappointed in your apparent lack of effort. I understand the need to pay homage to your genre's roots, but if this is really what dubstep used to sound like when it started in the U.K. (which I highly doubt it is) you can keep it. Take it, cut it up and snort it down with whatever drug you happen to be enjoying at the time because it's awful and I want no part of it. Love, your faithful and hopeful fan.
