A Trak Biography
-A-Trak (born Alain Macklovitch March 30, 1982) is a Montreal-based DJ and turntablist. -A-Trak won the DMCs World DJ Championship in 1997 at the age of 15, making him both the youngest and the only Canadian winner of the competition[1]. -He was the first DJ to win all three major DJ competition titles (DMC, ITF and Vestax) and the first DJ to win five DMC championships[2] -He was later asked to join the now-defunct DJ crew Invisibl Skratch Piklz, and is a member of The Allies. -He cites the DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince album "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper" as his introduction to turntablism. -A-Trak is the current tour DJ for rapper Kanye West. He uses Serato Scratch LIVE. -A-Trak is the younger brother of David Macklovitch of the band Chromeo, with whom he runs the record label Audio Research.[3] -A-Trak attended Montreal private school Stanislas from the elementary level through lycée. -He is also affiliated with the Fool's Gold record label.
