Arboretus Biography

Arboretus is the solo project of Hampshire, United Kingdom based multi-instrumentalist Alex Fawcett, also known as the guitarist/vocalist of Oceanus. The sound draws mainly on guitar-based ambience, shoegaze, drone and post-rock amoungst many other influences. Arboretus in its current form was conceived by Alex in the lonely Autumn of 2009. The sole purpose is almost one of an autobiographical sense - in that the music is designed to paint a picture of memories, nostalgia and the daily ups and downs of life - no more, no less. Arboretus seeks to expose the beauty in the simplicity of all things; be it a fragment of happy memories or an overwhelming dread on the horizon. In June 2010 Arboretus contributed one track featured on the Hawk Moon Records Volume I compilation. October 24th 2011 saw the release of the debut EP entited Soundscape de Nostalgia Official Soundcloud page
