Iva Biography

There are three artists under name IVA: 1) Sincere, sensual, and sexy, IVA is a shining star with the voice of an angel. Her sound is charged with purity and soul, her stage presence elegant and electric. Originally trained as a classical singer, IVA began her career on the operatic stage and later performed at prestigious classical venues including New-York's Lincoln Center and the Aspen Music festival. IVA is now a rising rock music star. 2) At the moment it is a unity with a brief, but concise name "IVA”. Though the beginning of this musical story is to be found years ago, it is still does not cease to open the new doors to the musical and spiritual experiences. The fragrant and exciting 18 – at this age Vita (Vita Ivaskevica) composed her first song. Of course, the melodies and notions have resembled earlier. This is to be testified by the first memories – with the mum’s hairspray as imaginable mike in her hands singing the melodies of Latvian and Russian musicians that were played over and over again in her room. The band “Soli Deo Gloria” has been an integral part in a “self - cognition” trip. While this time the songs „Mīlestība vienā dienā nenotiek”, „Marta un Marija”, „Golgāta 2000”, „Afišstabi”, „Atvadas” are composed. These years the band travels all over Latvia to perform in churches, festivals, camps, bookstores, cafes etc. - wherever people are willing to listen and to hear. The “America period” follows. During that time the sound of mandolin starts to play a meaningful role. Introduction to “bluegrass” cannot leave indifferent. Folkmusic like a mighty wave crosses the musical tastes and understanding. New rhymes, impressions, more emotional performance. The songs “Traveller”, “Confession”, “Not Alone” come up and the totally new direction has been set. The amazing run within melodies and sounds continues. Now it is an intensive studio work recording well known and brand new songs. They confirm to all of those who have been waiting for years – the album will see the daylight soon!
