水田直志 (Naoshi Mizuta) is a Japanese composer and musician known for his work in the video game industry. He was born on January 3, 1972, in Tokyo, Japan. Mizuta is notably recognized for his contributions to music in various video game franchises, most notably in the Final Fantasy series. Mizuta joined Square Enix (formerly Square) in the mid-1990s and started his career composing music for racing games. He gained prominence when he was assigned as the composer for the mobile game "Final Fantasy XI" (2002). His compositions for this massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) received praise for their atmospheric and evocative qualities, enhancing the gaming experience for players.
