The Red October Biography

There were 2 bands called The Red October: 1) The Red October were a Post-Hardcore/Screamo band from South Wales. They formed as The Red October in the October of 2004 after playing in bands with various members. The band consisted of Jack Skivens - Vocals and Guitar, Luke Briffett - Bass, Paul Smythe - Guitar, Kris Riddiford - Drums. 2) The Red October was a metalcore/post-hardcore band from Buffalo, New York, United States. The band formed in early 2009. After a few line up changes, they found the right fit that clicked. Only after a couple months and endless shows, the band put out a three song demo produced by Chris Flury from the popular Buffalo band Settings. After its release, the band continued the process of writing and expanding their creative abilities. In between the writing processes The Red October played shows after shows such as S.C.E.N.E. Fest in St. Catharines Canada and with bands like Emmure, Every Time I Die, Our Last Night, Eyes Set To Kill, and many, many more. In the fall of 2009 the band went into the studio under producer Mike Hatalak from another very popular Buffalo band It Dies Today. The Red October put out a six song EP in 2010 called When All Else Has Failed and has been released on iTunes and sold in the popular Hot Topic stores.
