Vito Priante Biography
Vito Priante is an Italian operatic bass-baritone. Vito Priante was born in Naples in 1979. After studying literature in Naples, he made his debut in Florence with Pergolesi´s La serva padrona in 2002 and performed at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2003. He is a welcome guest at renowned opera houses such as La Scala in Milan, the Bayerische Staatsoper München, the Teatro La Fenice, at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genua, at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, at the Opera de Lyon, in Edinburgh, Cremona, Lisbon, Madrid and at many festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele or at the Ravenna Festival. His most important roles for example include the title role in Le nozze di Figaro, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Publio in La clemenza di Tito, Alidoro in La cenerentola, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Escamillo in Carmen or Schaunard in La Bohème. Among his current projects are Figaro in Venice, Escamillo at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden or the participation in Mozart´s Requiem in Rome. Vito Priante is also a much-admired concert singer.
