I think they meant to genre this as pop. As a pop group, yes, they...decent. As a country group...horrible. Stop trying to make country music something it’s not. There’s a genre for this. Put it where it belongs.

I don’t love all modern country, but I also find a few Dan + Shay songs that really hit home for me. Country music is more than just instrumentation. It’s about how you’re feeling and expressing it through music that makes you feel good in your heart. A lot of people that claim music isn’t country, probably haven’t even been 5 mins out of their hometown before. Country music isn’t just a look or a type, it’s a way of life. Country music takes a lot of different shapes and forms. Be open minded. I don’t see you y'all climbing the country music charts putting out some booming songs and albums ;)

For people saying what is this doing under the country genre, not everything has to be twangy, tear in my beer, country. This is a lot like Rascal Flatts and that is why I like it. If you look at the progression of country music, there is a lot of pop influence, but this is much too mellow to be played with Katy Perry and Pink! If it’s not your cup of tea, move along and listen to something else.

I don’t typically like or listen to country music but this album completely changes my mind!

This duo srrated out being very good but either they, or their label, decided they needed to reach a lower IQ and coincidentally reach a wider demo. So they stood on the middle of the road between AC and country. (remember, music and creativity isn't important...reach and dollars count) Then, in a moment of insanity, the ACM voters decided for whatever reason that a song featuring the laughable line "But when I taste tequila, baby I still see ya" should win not just one award but two...in the face of so many well writen songs that were passed over. At first listem their harmonies sound amazing...but when you listen more closely, you can hear the doubling and what sounds like an old Harmonizer....or maybe it's autotune. This is not to take away from their excellent harmonies...but do they need the extra electronic help? Mostly it's matter of opinion, but I'd like to hear D&S get back to what they did in their first single. Be real.

Under pop genre? Great. But people need to stop calling them country. I looked at Florida Georgia lines reviews and everyone was giving them one star because they had some pop in their album. Why tf does dan and shay (more like shay and shay) not getting that when they are completely pop. Annoying and f’d up.
