In 1994, when this album came out, being “damaged goods” was an appealing concept. Now, in the 2020s, this concept album about an assaulter who deflects blame for his actions commits suicide to escape the consequences comes off as ham-fisted, narcissistic teenage poetry, like it always was. The only reason it is thought of in the terms that it is is because of the music, which never fails to sound every bit as excruciating as a washing machine trying to French kiss a lightbulb. Many say that Trent Reznor is a great singer because his voice is “human.” It isn’t. Kate Bush is a singer with a “human” voice; Trent Reznor shines and screams his way into the hearts of teens every bit as perverted and self-centered as he is because, like this album’s protagonist, they want to be able to commit horrible actions and never face the consequences. It’s 2020. It’s time to let this despicable album be lost to the septic tank of history. Spend your money elsewhere.

Underrated and hurt is a amazing song

This is one of my personal favorite Nine Inch Nails albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. This album also has great vocals, great drum solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album from Nine Inch Nails.

Best album ever. It’s the best NIN album there is, hands down. (I listen to it on Spotify) And to all you haters out there, be quiet because you don’t know what you’re talking about. Self-destruction is my kind of “good feeling”.

Could have just titled it as a double album. I've been wondering why iTunes doesn't have further down the spiral. It's cuz they include it here.

Best ever

This album is great. Millenials definitely grew up with this kind of music. I was 4 when it came out but millenials have older siblings, duh.

What are the best albums he has come out with. Late 80s to late 90s he was the voice of the generation. Millennials and so called Woke people would never appreciate this masterpiece since they did not lived in that era. Must have album for the normal generation X.

Nine inch nails is one of the best artists ever. The album really has a dark undertone like it’s followup the fragile. Each song can be pretty metaphoric to understand which that and the undertone make it awesome. Many of these are very personal. Trent really has a passion to write many topics for his songs. Classic album and songs. From start to finish this album is a ride, there are a few I the last half worth skipping tho, but it’s still worth. Overall best songs closer, the becoming, I do not want this, heresy, self destruct, big man with a gun, hurt ruiner. You’ll love this immediately, even if you love dance or electronic, no matter what kind you listen to you will love it. Burn is great too, only great deluxe track with dead souls
