This is a wonderful Christmas album! Those one star reviewers need their ears cleaned out or something! I have been listening to this album daily, sometimes several times a day! 'By Christmas Eve' is my favorite! Do yourself a favor and listen to this album, if you love Christmas music, you will not be disappointed.

A Legendary Christmas is MAGICAL from start to finish! It feels timeless, nostalgic, and could go toe to toe with any classic Christmas album of yesteryear. John's voice combined with Raphael Saadiq's beautiful orchestration makes it impossible to not be in the Christmas spirit as you listen. A great mix of classics and originals. My personal favorites of the latter being "Bring Me Love", and "By Christmas Eve." This album is the perfect soundtrack to your holidays. Highly recommend it!

Love the songs and his remakes. Some should become season classics like "Purple Snowflakes." Reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the last song, "Merry, Merry Christmas" which I found to be dreadful.

John brings a tasteful and elegant album to the table. It encompasses a sort of classy composition without being too in your face. On a scale of 1 to 10, if one was an angry face with two thumbs down, and 10 was "your first time on a rollercoaster", i'd give it a "finding a 5 dollar bill on the ground". Would listen again.

If you appreciate creative compositions and holiday music, this album does an amazing job of combining the two. This brings me back to what music is all about. Really enjoyed the TV special too.

John Legend has an undeniably great voice that’s well suited to Christmas music, but you should really be buying this album for his original work, which fuses the best of his repertoire with Christmas flair. Example: “Waiting For Christmas” has the same upscale-urban atonal progressions that made Ordinary People such a classic. “By Christmas Eve” is my and my wife’s personal favorite. It puts a very modern spin on the home for Christmas trope while feeling both fresh and familiar at the same time. It’s really hard to describe but there is something that’s very evocative of John Legend’s music that transports you to a different place. It’s an excellent album.

This guy is a big supporter of pro-crime LA DA George Gascon. And then when someone attempted to steal his Porsche, he asks and receives special treatment. Unreal. I used to like this guy, but now I can’t listen to him. I’m done supporting artists that support policies that make it so much harder for everyone else to live.

I honestly don't understand what some of these one-star reviews are about. This is a solid Christmas album. I'm not a huge fan of John Legend, or even Christmas music in general -- I'm more of a "put on the Peanuts Christmas CD and call it a day" kind of gal this time of year. But I honestly loved this! He brings Nat King Cole level chops to some of the old classics, and the jazzy originals are very nice. I even liked his re-imagining of "Christmas Time Is Here," which normally I'd consider sacrilege to remake! This is a romantic, snuggly, snowed-in kind of Christmas album, and I am here for it. Worth the buy.

It’s great and beyond time for JL to do Christmas his way. Love the covers, as well as the original pieces . Finally someone that truly exemplifies family and children, and is great artist— doing Christmas. A Classic for me.
