I love Green Day, and ai love this album! True fans will appreciate that they decided to experiment. They really do have some good songs on here, like Sugar Youth, Father of All.. Oh Yeah! Donât hate this album just because it it different
Billie Joe is great, the songs are great, EVERYTHING IS GREAT
Yawn. Very sad
Out of all the Green Day albums I listen too this one i listen to the most .I donât hate the other I love them but this one itâs different has a different sound itâs a good change father of all, stab you in the heart and ready aim fire are great songs if you wanna try this album out try those songs the other songs are alright but out of all that itâs a great album I recommend it
This album is pure fun. It borrows from 50âs rock to Joan Jett, from 60âs pop to dance rock. It is Green Day as a punk rock pub band. If youâre looking for a rock masterpiece, look elsewhere. If youâre looking for something with hips, look no further.
I bought this with excitement and Iâve only listened to it twice. I love Green Day and all, but Iâm not really feeling this one.
I donât know why people are complaining. This album is great! I love the vibe and beat.
Why
What happened to Green Day ? This just sounds like poppy garbageđ€Šââïž
Sugar youth and Teenage teenager were good, oh yeah and stab you in the heart were ok, the rest is absolute garbage that sounds absolutely nothing like Green Day. Worst Green Day album, hands down.
Who wants to hear a band do the same thing for decades? Of course they change their sound, they GET OLDER, they learn and develop, I love this new sound because it is NEW! It's full of energy and fire, it's awesome. People who say "this isn't Green Day" sound ridiculous because you don't get to decide "what Green Day is," it's rock, it's punk, it's pop rock, it's whatever they want it to be, doesn't mean you have to like it, but saying it isn't what they used to be is irrelevant because that's the case with every band who have been around for decades. Look at the Beatles, they changed didn't they? Again, if you don't like the sound, that's fine. Just don't act like it's your call what makes Green Day Green Day. Love this new album.
Congrats to Green Day for coming with something different yet still having some punk vibes to it. Donât understand the hate from others doing reviews. Itâs good for a band to take different roads now and again.
No Features, No Swedish Songwriters, No Trap Beats, 100% PURE UNCUT ROCK!
This band is by far my favorite band of all time. Some of their politics I donât agree with but they are talented musicians. But man, I like Dos about as much as this album. And thatâs not a good thing. Itâs just an album that feels like it came and went. Covid did this album a favor as it took over the release and Green Day didnât tour on this record. I still have some songs I like. But it doesnât compare to any of their other records. Sorry boys. I am ready for the next one though
I am a gigantic Green Day fan and I know people hate this album but I really like it. Pros: good beat they tried something new which takes guts nice riffs and take the money and crawl is just amazing. Cons: weird effects on Billie joeâs voice and oh yeah was kind of lazy Overall this is a great album and a few of the songs are on my mixtape. I hate how much people hate this album just bc itâs different it has my suggestion for a buy 8/10
Wish all the boomers would stop whining about it being so different from everything else Green Dayâs done. Who cares? Yeah, other song are better, but what really matters is if the musicians like what they make. And graffitia is a banger.
Even the singer looks disappointed in this album.
Itâs not horrible by any means but itâs not really all that good either. It has some bangers like stab you in the heart, sugar youth, and fire ready aim. But then there are songs like oh yeah and I was a teenage teenager that are just meh. The other songs are pretty good I guess but revolution radio was better.
Fail
Sound wise theyâre there with the blasting guitars and pounding drums but this is easily some of their worst work lyrically.
You did some of your best work during the 'Dub-yuh' years, and prior. If Trump couldn't light your creative juices, then I don't know what will.
I donât know why this album is getting hate, itâs good music, it may not be like Rock and Roll but itâs nice good
Very Dissaponiting.They should have waited!!!!
0/10 Best track: None Worst track: All
How the hell is this Green Day this sounds like a 3 year old forced them to sound like the Jonas broâs and so 5 year old girls listen to this crap, It baffles me that this is Green Day and Iâm 11 THIS IS NOT ROCK THIS IS BUBBLEGUM POP like Backstreet Boys and Taylor swift
Whatâs all the hate about? Do you really want to hear the same Green Day sound for forty years? The truth is that this is different then their usual stuff. And it sounds great! The album really rocks! I know hardcore fans want the classic sound. I do too, but I like to see some experimentation. Who knows? Maybe next album will be classic punk with a modern touch! I am HYPED for 1972. Chill! Just enjoy the music. Best tracks: Father of all, Meet me on the roof, Take the money and crawl đ€đ€đ€đ€đđđđ€đ€đ€đđđđđđđđđ€©đ€©đ€©đ€©đđđđđŻđŻđŻâ¶ïžâžâ¶ïž
Garbage
i used to love this band with their albums from 39 smooth to american idiot, but i feel like after that they started to get kinda soft. i mean i tolerated 21st century breakdown and even uno dos tre and revolution radio but this, well i mean it just sounds like one big car commercial with poorly done balids in between. im pretty dissapointed
This album unexpectedly came out on my birthday and i speant the whole day lisining to it
When i first heard this album i thought it was alright, but then i listened to it more and more and than bought the cd (yes i still use cdâs). While i still prefer stuff like dookie and American idiot, this album is better than most people say it is.
This album is like taking Uno Dos and Tre and thinking, âhow can I make worse garbage than the trilogy?â Thereâs more musical talent from a garbage disposal than Green Dayâs horrible record. Itâs a symphony of multiple dumpster fires going on at once. Not sure whatâs happened to the great punk bands of the past.
What were these guys smoking when making this album. Not decent at all.
I don't know if this is an Apple problem or an impatience problem, but the vast majority of reviews I read seem to be based off of the pre-release single. Come on, it's been out for 2 years now. The album: it's too short, and may have been rushed to complete their label requirements. 26 minutes? I have EP's that are longer than that. But as a collection of songs it's better than I expected; the songs are short but to the point, and they have something to say. The group does not just phone it in and are not afraid to try something new, which I always appreciate from legendary bands.
I donât fully understand why people hate this song but I like and totally recommend
Bland, Boring, Forgettable Corporate Rock.
But I do.
âFather of All...â: 8/10; Great song, but it could be improved. This song is easily the song of 2020, mainly because today we worry about rioting in major cities all across the nation, the song stating âwe are rivals in the riot inside usâ which seems very true in major cities. The guitar is UNREAL in this song. Lyrics sound like you put Billy Joe in a blender but itâs great anyway. âFire, Ready, Aimâ: 9/10; NHL BAYBAY this song is perfect for the NHLâs Wednesday night theme. For a song thatâs under 2 minutes, this song definitely takes the cake for this album. When Green Day has songs that are under 2 minutes, normally theyâre âehhhâ (except for âJadedâ) but this one is PERFECT. âOh Yeah!â: 10/10; BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM. HANDS DOWN. this song is a daily anthem for my life. It brings vibes from old day Green Day while staying in the new era of Green Day. It sounds like a little bit of everything that theyâve done in their musical career, with a twist of the new stuff. Rock on Green Day! âMeet Me On The Roofâ: 6/10; love the music video, Gaten Matarazzo was perfect for the music video (and stranger things is LEGIT FIRE), but this song doesnât really hit me as a... well... a hit. Itâs decent, but not as good as some other songs from this album. âI Was A Teenage Teenagerâ: 9/10; Alright, Alright, alright. This is a vibe for sure! I was skeptical for the first 20 seconds of the song, but then the hook hit and I knew that I loved this song. Iâm a nut for new music so I can see what a band is doing now and not judging based on what theyâve already done. This is one of those songs that is just f$@%#ng awesome! âStab You in the Heartâ: 9/10; from the first scream I knew this was a vine and a half. I love The Beach Boys vibe that it has in the hook, and this is a great song all together. âSugar Youthâ: 10/10; âOh Yeah!â is the best song on the album, but this is my favorite song from the album. The lyrics sound like theyâre pointed towards me when I listen to it because it totally relates to my life. Iâm never gonna â@$%# the prom queenâ. This song is an awesome banger that shouldâve gotten huge. âJunkies on a Highâ: 6/10; questionable. Itâs not a terrible song, but itâs not a fantastic song either. Itâs okay at best. âTake the Money and Crawlâ: 8/10; Okay! Noice! Noice as @$%#! Very vibe-ish! This is a great song and the lyrics are laughable (in a good way) and itâs awesome!!! âGraffitiaâ: 7/10; ...ehhh... okay I guess... this song didnât strike me as a fantastic song, but it wasnât a total train wreck... it was decent but I hope they can make more fantastic songs in the future like they have been for the past 30 years. Rock on and live on Green Day!
Some of the songs are good. But they donât sound like Green Day. I mean, they stepped out of their comfort zone, but should step back in. My favorite songs: - father of all... - oh yeah - I was a teenage teenager Simply awful songs: - meet me on the roof - graffita - take the money and crawl
I think that graffita and oh yeah weâre pretty bad but it only gets better and the top of the album is meet me on the roof
I actually been a fare weather fan but, I am looking forward to hearing this. Someone in the comments complained about the cover art. I actually think it looks cool and want a t-shirt of it.
People can say all they want about how Green Dayâs music has changed throughout the years. They arenât the same people they were 8-12 years ago. This album is great.
Weâre is the old punk sound
The above caption says it all
This is a good album. I am a pretty big fan though. A band changing their sound is not a bad thing. It took me a little to get into the album and the unicorn is okay I guess. I think on merch or even the back of the sleeve would be great but on the front Iâm kind of meh with it. I wonât say it is as good as revolution radio but it is a solid album. Iâd also say it is more punk to release what you want and make the music that you want to make than to release the same album over and over. That is my opinion. I think there is a lot of hate on this album for no reason or people did not give it a good chance.
I say this, even though They kinda ditched the whole punk title. I think the album is really good in its own way. Like for example if you really pay attention to the lyrics and stuff, it kinda resembles the whole mess weâre in take 2020 for example. Not to mention the reign of Trump.
I actually thought the songs were good I donât know why everyone thinks theyâre so bad
Iâm actually embarrassed for them. This is awful. This isnât even their genre. This is barely music. I donât care if they want to do something different- youâre Green Day, so start acting like it. I hope they get it together and start playing punk rock again.
This will be my favorite upbeat album for years!
Iâve got paranoia, Green Day... I will admit that there are a couple of good songs, but idk about this album. I was born in 2006, so if youâre trying to draw in new listeners, try going back to the early days. Iâve always liked grunge and punk rock, and my friends listened to some of my favorite songs and liked them almost as much as the newer crap they listen to (any sort of rap or pop). If anyone can bring back music like the 90s, itâs Green Day. I get that you wanted to try some new things, but itâs hard to dislike the pure sounds from the past. I wasnât a fan of this album, but hopefully youâll go back to your roots and write something better.
Doesnât sound quite like traditional Green Day, but still like it. Especially Oh Yeah! and Fire, Ready, Aim.
