j_a - Boring and mediocre

I get the whole flexing their pop skills. But this is just mediocre. Extremely forgetful. This is what happens when lifelong groups try and get out of their sound. Like Tools last album. Sad to say but maybe the heyday is over.

DevilsInTheDetails - Not just another Foo Fighters album

Iā€™ve always been sort of on the sidelines with Foo Fighters. This is the first album that I actually liked enough to purchase. The songs have a much more creative and adventurous musicality than previous offerings. The cleanly polished sounds may lack some of the raw passion of earlier recordings. But they still shine. I hear the influences of some really great bands in this record. They range from pop artists like David Bowie, the Beatles and Beck, to Prog rock like Rush, and 80s alternative sounds like Tears For Fears and Talking Heads to name a few. I guess Dave grew up listening to the same music as me after all.

Nickshreddz34 - Nope

Nope

D-Rod44 - Remember when Kiss did disco?

Trying to make music in the style of todayā€™s clueless ā€œrock starsā€ Sad attempt to be hip. Donā€™t think this will age well.

Shawnathan H. - Best Foo Fighters album yet!

So this is very controversial i'm sure! But Medicine at Midnight is probably the most cohesive album in their catalog! Its definitely a departure, but it shows their true potential as a band, and their versatility as musicians! Also, the title track is FIRE!!

I am John Macaws - Awfully disappointing

Putting anything together for a quick easy buck

Jimmy the Taylor - Keep an open mind.

If you go into this expecting the Foo Fighters of the 90s and 00s, youā€™re not going to be happy, but if you keep an open mind, youā€™ll find this to be a very enjoyable record.

UhDA!! - Thank you Foo Fighters

Killing it as always! Will be in the Rock Hall of Fame in no time. Sick. No Son of Mine and Cloudspotter are my jams!!

curtv99 - Another side to Foo

Thoughtfully written rock songs with great groove, licks and melody. Solid change of pace!

janfoo25 - Very creative!

Most musicians get stuck in the same sound. Never grow or create with the changing times. The Foos are are not your typical musicians!

ThreePiecesOfCheese - Not bad but get back with Butch Vig and make a rock record.

At first I wasnā€™t sure what to think about this album because I sure did not like Shame Shame but itā€™s a good Pop album. There are some great songs on here but I donā€™t know if it is the running order of songs or what but it just doesnā€™t flow like a Foo Fighters album usually does. Not my usual cup of tea but I do like Making A Fire; Daveā€™s daughter does a great job on the backing vocal. Cloudspotter is a great song that reminds me of The Power Station or early Duran Duran. The standout track is Love Dies Young, great hook that will be some stuck in your head all day; I expect this song to be huge if released as a single. Overall, itā€™s a good album but Iā€™d like another Wasting Light and lose the keyboard player as a full fledged member. I understand some songs need keys but that dude just looks outta place on the rockers. šŸ„¶

Acedcold - I love the Foo Fighters

I love this Album! Awesome job Dave!

Ing - Grohl & Co keep it great

All the whining seems to be from people that only like a narrow view of music. Iā€™m sorry, but embrace diversity in music, grow a little ! The same loud rock stuff over & over? Well thereā€™s no need to buy but one album then! I personally just love that DG has the rocks to show he can do a variety of cool things and this album is just gorgeousā€¦ it is NOT some electro-pop fiasco like done are trying to say, itā€™s nothing like that at all. This has nothing in common with a sell out! This is still rock music. Kudos, more please!!!

LornaDoone30 - A little different but I love it.

I love the groovy feel of this album. This album makes me want to dance while rocking out. The same kind of feeling I get with early Van Halen. I really like hearing the band experiment and try new things.

BreezeyFingBaby - Not bad

Itā€™s my personal opinion that I still hear classic Foo in this album. ā€œIn Your Honorā€ was the pinnacle for me & Iā€™d be shocked if anything could surpass that album in my mind. But, not bad.... I donā€™t think it sounds as poppy as others are making it out to be.

movie-critique - Reviews

It should not be allowed on iTunes to review an album prior to its official release date. To judge an album by its first single, months before the actual album comes out, is unfair and very narrow-minded. THIS is is a GREAT album, and I am not writing this to balance out the bad reviews written weeks before the release but because it is. I don't think they have moved away an inch from what they have been for the last decades, a great rock band with unforgettable songs. No Son Of Mine, Making A Fire, Cloudspotter, Waiting On A War, Holding Poison are definitely in the vein of their most successful albums. And, since this never gets mentioned, I like the artwork a lot. This albums deserves reviews that are about the full album and after at least a couple of rounds of full listening.

Joe Krollo - Miss my Fooā€™s

Been a fan my whole lifeā€¦ the last 2-3 albums have just felt like a complete departure from the band that amazed and inspired me for 15 years prior. ā€œWasting lightā€ was the last album that truly felt like a foo fighters record. I expect the band to progress, as doing the same thing over and over gets old. Where is the band that wrote ā€œThe Oneā€ on the Orange County soundtrack? This album here was hyped as a party rock albumā€¦ what?! Besides the opening track, the record is ā€œmehā€ at best with several tracks just feeling like stock.

Gage Em - If you love rock/foo fighters, listen to this

Idk about the haters in the comments but I feel sorry for them because this album is awesome! 5 stars hands down.

Craig's MacBook - I tried...

The previous I bought just because I trusted it would be amazing. I was disappointed. This one, I bought on blind faith, hoping for a pleasant surprise. Once again, I am heartbroken. I blame myself. I obviously have not grown the way they have. I am now that guy that listens to 10 year old music. Yep. I just be here in my front porch, yelling at passers by...

CrossSiclare - Grows on you!

The Foos are always changing things up. Theyā€™ll go heavy, technical, and now pop. Iā€™m into all of it.

Weaponx0824 - Great album

A lot of these reviews Id say are when shame shame was released. I like the change of sound. A lot of people cannot accept a band changing their sound. Also... Love dies young. A great song that I think should be a single off the album. Itā€™s super underrated.

priorfanoffoo - Sad Day

I have lived for the Foo for the better part of my life. To say this album is a disappointment is an understatement. I wish they would have spent more time focusing on the music and less time focusing on pushing their political agenda. They have turned out a disappointing album and lost some of their fan base because they chose Hollywood over the people who have been by their sides from the beginning. Sad.

DrVan - Groovy Rock

Itā€™s the Foos, and it is good!

3586 - Love this record!

This is one of those records to be appreciated in itā€™s entirety. A breath of fresh air from this band in early 2021 that could not have come at a better time.

DarkDirkk - Awesome!

I actually really like this new album so far, my favorite song in it is definitely waiting on a war.

K to the E ven - Love it!

The guitar sounds so good in the Medicine at Midnight solo. Taylor is holding back a lot in this album but otherwise, sick hooks and grooves all the way around. Grohl once again shows another aspect of his creative side. Keep surprising us!!

LunasnowA - Holding Poison and Chasing Birds

Holding Poison and Chasing Birds are so reminiscent of early Foo Fighters and I am all for that.

76V84 - It really grows on you

The Foos really try to break away from the safe-bet style with this album. Songs like Waiting on a War and Love Dies Young are instant classics, but others like Medicine at Midnight really creep up and I find myself randomly getting them stuck in my head. Not my favorite album, but it's sneaky good.

Dave Groowwl - Finally Sold Out

Bowed down to his liberal masters to protect 500 million. I am sad

Josh Henson - Awesome album

The Foos have played the same style songs for years. Itā€™s refreshing to hear some new sounding songs and theyā€™re great. Donā€™t believe the nay sayers. This album might be their best. If you want to listen to the same old stuff, then listen to their first few boring albums.

Nickname Em - Shame on me

When I first heard ā€œshame shame ā€œ I was not a fan. But after giving the entire album a few listens all the way thru, I am into it!!

Ringo Stingo - New Kind of Fooā€™s

I love the new album! Itā€™s definitely not your regular Foo Fighters but Iā€™ll take a dance party with Dave Grohl! Even with the new sound, thereā€™s still some classic Foo in the songs like ā€œWaiting on a Warā€ and ā€œNo Son of Mineā€. I really canā€™t talk bad about any song on this album, itā€™s exciting getting to hear this new type of music from the band.

shoppermomC - Chasing Birds or Emo national anthem

A flight of fancy as if the Beatles had a near death experience in the 70s and wrote a song about it. I like it.

diredirerere - JUST WHAT WE NEED!!

ABSOLUTELY A GREAT FOO FIGHTERS ALBUM! CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM LIVE!!!

Loofighter83 - Donā€™t let the bots fool you

Donā€™t be swayed by the negative reviews, this album is great. A little different from a regular Foo record but the songwriting is there. I actually think the singles are the weakest songs. Cloudspotter, Medicine at Midnight, and Holding the Poison are classic Foo Fighters songs. Most of the negative reviews are from November of last year. I donā€™t know how you can review (and not like) an album that you havenā€™t heard.

123PleaseComeForMe - FULL ALBUM REVIEW

Iā€™m gonna be honest, I had no idea they had released 3 singles until I was browsing my phone while trying to do schoolwork, and saw a foo fighters album from 2021. I was like ā€œCool! When did they release this?ā€ Turns out it was that exact day, Feb. 5th. I was like - ā€œwhoaā€ and I listened to the whole album immediately. At first I was skeptical, and thought it was a ā€œmehā€ album. Then I listened to it a few more times, and now I absolutely love it! It is an amazing album, but you will have to stick it out a few times before you can really enjoy it. I canā€™t stop playing it now, and have already learned all the songs on drums. šŸ¤˜ rock on, foo fighters!!!

RRH 9 - Too much mushy

Like their hard rock this reminds me of other soft rock artists

DAS_Architect - What is Everyone Complaining about?

This is excellent new stuff. Why do people want to stay in the past. Every musical group transitions to test themselves. This is an excellent new album. Quit whining.

SBS - Spotty but had great moments

There are some great songs on M at M, but the songs are so disparate that itā€™s tough to get into a solid groove. Cloudspotter is by far the best rock song on the album, and for me, a great Foo song that will endure with their collection of greatest songs. Overall I give it 4 stars for general quality, but album-wise, canā€™t hold a candle to Wasting Light, their last great album from top to bottom. I love these guys and will always be a big fan, but for now, realize that the greatness comes from a song here and a song there, over the past 3 albums.

Artman706 - Enjoyable!

Different but fun! They are getting flac for a new sound but I actually really enjoyed this album!

Bmcnm - Canā€™t get through it

Weā€™ve tried and tired to listen to the new album, canā€™t do it.

JonEHutchins - Tried and Failed

I have tried three times to get through the album and it's like chewing sand...you can do it, but it's not very pleasant. Waiting on a war has so many repeating lines that it makes me skip the song entirely. I agree with some reviewers say that it doesn't have much soul. I love Dave, but this just falls flat and is disappointing overall.

Jason Farabaugh - Thank god for the Foos

Best album since Wasting Light. Thank god they're still at it and still evolving and experimenting with new sounds after 25 years.

@nickpetersonmusic - Itā€™s ok.

Thatā€™s ok. Itā€™s ok. Some good tracks. Some bad. Itā€™s a an ok Foo album.

Pops&Mojo - Dave has earned the right ...

to do whatever he wants. He has been making music for decades and it's not anyone's place to tell him this is no good. It's what satifies him, maybe musically, maybe financial, which I doubt, he doesn't strick me as someone in it for the money, so I'll say, Dave I'm glad you're around. You are a bridge from 90's grunge to today's music, and I appreciate all the years of your contributions! So do whatever you want to do, haters will hate, even when the hater's have no credentials to criticize. Nice to have new music to consider, thanks

Rja99yo - Whereā€™s the rest of the band

Sounds like bedroom demos that the rest of the band didnā€™t want to be bothered with.

thrashmaniac6 - LOL

Good thing I never really liked this band.

Leakey3 - Stunning

This album is amazing. Every song is creative and emotive. Buy it.

Kyles ipad12345678901 - Unbelievable. Garage. Hard pass.

Heā€™s waiting on a war? Weā€™ve been at war for 20 plus years. Non stop. Done with this band. Seriously guys, whatā€™s wrong with you.

Behobo - Wrong medicine

Opinions of oppression by way of mandate makes you a looser
