I love this album brings a ton of memories and has my favorite shakira song of all time "Antologia". Sadly shakira's recent albums aren't up to par with her first 3 albums. She was a phenomenal Spanish songwriter, now she is just ehh.

I used to listen to this when i was little and i still do but she has a crisp, amazing, and soothing voice that makes her music sound wonderful! I also know how to speak spanish so i start singing along with her (BTW love un poco de amor) my favorite song. but everyone is obsessed with the "new Shakira" i mean like these songs are really good and they are not on the top 5 of shakira and she wolf cd is the top shakira cd WHY??????

Estoy Aqui is a fabulous song! Definately the best song on a super album. I was living in Mexico studing spanish when this song hit. It was EVERYWHERE. We even translated it in class. I highly recommend this song and album. I also love hips don't lie... you can't blame a girl for wanting to make it in America. Her voice is supurb in any language!

Imagine....a pre-teen little kid...sitting in his cousins room...rifiling through cds...and out of all the cds...he finds this one. He puts it in the big boom box and starts falling in love with this teenage girl that is singing so amazingly and singing her own songs.......greatest album ever...buy it!!! Its got me hooked...still a HUGE shakira fan till this day...that album was something special!

I like all of Shakira's new stuff, but now that I listen to her old songs I begin miss this style. The whole Caribbean sound the drums, I love it all. In my opinion Antologia is one of the best songs in the album.

25 years later and still an amazing album ! Still makes me cry and feel happy I love her !

I have loved Shakira from the get go. I remember singing all these songs for my friends because they totally rocked back in the day. They still do. I still like her stuff, but these songs show off her writing ability as opposed to her dancing ability.

This is the first Album I heard from Shakira. And since I first heard it I was in love. Not only is she beautiful but she has an amazing and unique voice. I highly recommend this album. You will not be disappointed.

In Pies Descalzos, Shakira's music exhibited a unique style, blending Latin folk music with Rock en Espanol and Latin Pop. All of these different elements came together to create diverse, catchy songs with poetic lyrics if you know Spanish. Her old songs are not quite as danceable or head-sticking as her more recent work, but Shakira's first (notable) album makes for a very satisfying musical experience that should be part of everyone's collection. Best songs: Pies Descalzos, Suenos Blancos, Estoy Aqui, Se Quiere, Se Mata, Donde Estas Corazon, Te Necesito, and Un Poco de Amor.

This is her best album in my opinion because the songs feel more natural and have a more acoustic/ pure sound than her more modern songs. The best song on this album is Un Poco de Amor, really catchy!

I can't honestly decide whether Pies Descalsos or Donde Estan Los Ladrones? is the better album. :) I first heard Shakira at a young age, with her lovely Spanish songs that are poetic, intelligent, and simply beautiful. Her songs in English are good, but I prefer her old stuff. It's just so much more meaningful. The songs on this album are powerful. I recommend the /whole/ album. :D

I do not know which one is better, Pies descalzos? or Donde estan los ladrones? They are both so good I can't pick between them. Shakiras old music is better than Shakiras english songs.

this is a great album but people think that this is her first album but its not. shakira's first 2 albums were called magia and peligro.

these are the songs that helped shakira get to where she is today. if you don't buy the whole thing make sure you at least check out estoy aqui, pies descalzos suenos blancos, and antologia. these were her very first internationally successful songs and are well worth $0.99. The first Shakira song i heard wasn't hips dont lie, it was vuelve. I must say, this album is a lot more powerful than a lot of Shakira's other ones.

I LOVE this Shakira! i remember being in 4th grade and my sister playing Shakira everywhere we went (on cassette of course). we didn't owned the cd until way later. by far the best album along with donde estan los ladrones which Shakira herself has said in interview is her favorite album.

I remember listening to this when it first came out in the 90’s (I was living in Panama in the U.S. military). Absolutely raw and fantastic album when she was still relatively unknown. Shakira’s next album Donde Estan Los Ladrones was equally as good as this album. So many good memories flood back listening to this awesome music. If you like Shakira this is an absolute must have album!
