good soundtrack except no gimme shelter by the stones which was played twice in the movie
I bought it so i could use it as a ringtone, but when i look on my purchased music i dont find the bell icon next to this song...so i bought this song as a ringtone and now i cant even use it????
AAAAAAAAWWWWEEEESSSOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE
THE DEPARTED IS A GREAT SOUNDTRACK AND IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF ITUNES WOULD MAKE THE MOVIE AVAILABLE TO BUY.
Disappointed I can't purchase my favorite version of "Comfortably numb" as a single. Some of the other sings are great too.
Wowie wow wow wow! I can't stop watching this movie, the music fits each scene prefectly. Turned me into a Dropkick Murphys fan. I might be wrong, but I think this version of Comfortably Numb comes from Roger Water's "The Wall, Live in Berlin".
jj
u red soz kno wut im talkin bout! this is our song! DO DA PAPELBON WIT THIS!
Written by Pink Floyd Performed by Van Morrison
Phenomenal movie, excellent soundtrack! They hit the nail on the head paring everything together with this!
This Soundtrack Is Pretty Good But My Con Is Itβs Pretty Short And Thereβs Only 12 Songs On It
wow! this song is just a pooooooo! crap.... so dont downlode this!!! trust me, u will think this is domb 2!
No! Just, you know what, no. Just, NO! NO! HORRIBLE! Just, just, just no jeez! NO!
But I'd rather have the freakin' movie on my iPod.
o yeah the sound track is real good too
this was the best song on the soundtrack and is the best song performed by Dropkick Murphys
I mean, they're all pretty good, but Let it Loose is the best. Just saying.
Im Shipping Up to Boston is greeat I love it
This song just rocks! You have to crank it up! LOUD! LOUD!
Disappointed I can't get "Nobody But Me" by the Human Beinz as a single.
This song is soooooo cool!
I absolutely love the Dropkick Murphys. My mom saw this movie and she said it was scary. But I don't even care.
DOUBLE AWSOME
best movie i've seen in a long time...severed hand or severed horse's head i can't imagine anything to get better than this. :) soundtrack was alright...
Even if you have not seen the departed I would reccomend this soundtrack. It has something for everyone. Plus the departed won movie of the year and I think the soundtrack is just as good.
Awesome
They sometimes play this song at the Spartan Arena! Go Spartans! π ππππ
this is the greatest song ever written
Great soundtrack!!First time I heard Shipping Off To Boston I thought it was The Mighty,Mighty Bosstones, out of Boston, sure does sound like them,GREAT song though,Comfortably Numb is brilliant,Sail On Sailor,One Way Out were standouts, and using Let It Loose by the Stones was a great choice, imo, one of the top 3 Jagger vocals ever, instead of Gimme Shelter, which he ALWAYS uses, except, ironically his Rolling Stones Documentary/concert-Shine A Light! The irony there is great, lol
what is the name of the song that is played at the beginning when collin is a kid and costello is in the restaraunt?
The movie was good - I'm Shipping Up to Boston was even better!
i didn't actually see the movie but i like the music.
As usual, Martin Scorcese gives us an excellent soundtrack to drive an intense, well acted film. One Way Out is an old favorite and fit beautifully in the bar scene with Leonardo and the cranberry juice. Choosing Sweet Dreams by Roy Buchanan to close out the film was pure genious.
the reason martin scorsese's crime dramas are so successful is because is makes them fast pased and never boring, and he has the best taste and picking out his music. One of the best soundtracks for one of the best movies..
I dont know how you can incorperate a Dropkick Murphey song into an academy award winning movie and make it work...genius. Martin is the man.
I THINK THAT LEEONARDO IS THE BEST THING SINCE MICROWAVE POPCORN<3 HE IS SOOO GOOD LOOKING I LOVE HIM IN THE TITANIC TOO<33333
Great soundtrack, but what alot of people don't seem to understand is why there are so many classic rock songs. The entire reason for so many is to capture the spirit of the time....
This movie is unbelieveable. I can't get enough of it, and the soundtrack is sweet too. I wish the soundtrack had "Well Well Well" by John Lennon on it though.
the song are the worst dont buy if you have a brain this is crap
Great songs that definitely fit this movie perfectly. Go buy this whole album! πππ
The movie and soundtrack are great but they forgot to put in John Lennon's song "Well Well Well".
Another song missing from the soundtrack is John Lennon's "Well, Well, Well"
All of these tracks are essential to a well-rounded modern music collection. This is the only album where you can find Badfinger's original "Baby Blue," one of the best George Harrison songs ever written, almost recorded by The Beatles for "Let It Be" two years earlier. Van Morrison's performance on "Comfortably Numb" is an absolute classic. Roy Buchanan, much forgotten by most blues guitar fans, is well represented here in "Sweet Dreams." All of the tracks on this album deserve to be on any playlist.
Obviously, the soundtrack should have included Gimme Shelter by the Stones, but let's get past that and look at the tracks that are on the album. Comfortably Numb is such a fantastic song and this life performance by Waters and Van Morrison with the Band at the dramatic Wall Concert is perfect for the movie. Sail On Sailor is a catchy tune: I don't claim to be a big Beach Boys fan, but I like the song. Let It Loose is another great Stones track, obviously not the caliber of Gimee Shelter but a fun one nonetheless. I LOVED the Sweet Dreams guitar version by Roy Buchanan- ends the movie with some quality shredding Obviously, Allman Bros. are a great band, and it's a decent song. Baby Blue is the unsung hero, easily the best Badfinger song, and incredibly catchy. Fantastic! Does track 7 need any explanation? THE BEST SONG IN A MOVIE, EVER!!!!! Dropkick Murphys were already one of my favorite bands, but with the release of the movie, I got a new appreciation for the song. And personally, I like the movie version a tiny bit better than the one from Give Em the Boot- grittier and more dramatic. I never listen to track 8, but you might like it. I dunno. Tweedle Dee and Sweet Dreams of You aren't hard-rockin but they're in the movie. I don't listen to them. Filler. The last two tracks are instrumental with excellent guitar playing. Fabulous acoustic tracks! Overall I recommend this to anybody who liked the movie. Other tracks missing that should be on here are Well Well Well by John Lennon (good song) and Thief's Theme by Nas (great song). And probably some others, but none worth your time. Happy listening.
There are some fine songs on this record, such as Comfortably Numb, but it is missing a very important song from the movie: Gimme Shelter! If Let It Loose is one here (which I don't remember in the film at all), why isn't Gimme Shelter, one of the greatest rock songs of all time? Along with I'm Shipping Up To Boston, that was one of the main songs of the movie. I'm Shipping Up To Boston is just OK, it doesn't compare to anything on the Dropkick Murphy's new masterpiece of an album, The Meanest Of Times. I feel the same about this soundtrack as I did the movie: it's good, not great, and the fans are making a big deal out of it.
it needs Gimme Shelter badly. This is the best Stones song ever and really sets the tone for the movie, so leaving it out was a bad decision, even if it is in all his movie. However, the rest is a great soundtrack, one of the best I've heard in a while (except for, like, Almost Famous), and it still showcases a great Stones tune.
You should buy the cd soundtrack than to buy this album. You can delete the tracks from your itunes library any time you like, and you can download the deleted tracks back to your library.
Very good album, masterfully done like the movie, but missing Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones.
I think this is their best song by far!!!!
Downloaded the ringtone for the iPhone, but it will not work?!? Any suggestions? It is under "Music," and plays, but I cannot get it as the ringtone. Thanks!
