I know rap...okay? - Huey lays down the standards

If you haven't heard song # 12 already, its arguably one of my favorite rap songs of all time. I can really relate to this, because i live in the hood, and have no parents, adn was doin rocks for a while, but after hearin this sogn i've changed, for the better.

mannella65 - Notebook Paper

it has some pretty good songs on it like pop lock & drop it remix, glad 2 b alive, when i hustle, those are my favorite songs on this album.

Babyboi Vegas - at least half the album good

Moviewhiz1 - Notebook Paper - Huey

My next review is newcomer Huey, a rapper known by the phrase one hit wonder. Notebook Paper is the debut album by him, and I must say wow. During the start of the album I started to feel the beat, but I kinda lost it after track 4. Most songs are the same nothing is unique. The only ones I recomend are G5 and Pop, Lock, and Drop It. Notebook Paper 2/10 Bout Dat 4/10 Aye 6/10 Pop, Lock, and Drop It 8/10 Closet Full of Clothes 0/10 2 Nite 3/10 G5 9.5/10 G5 (RMX) 10/10 Money Ova 6/10 My Zone 7/10 When I Hustle 7.5/10 Luv n Ya Life .5/10 Nobody Loves The Hood 4.5/10 Glad 2 B Alive 6.5/10 Pop, Lock, and Drop It (RMX) 9.5/10

Anonymous979 - Huey - Notebook Paper

Huey is here with his debut album "Notebook Paper." After the hit single, "Pop, Lock & Drop It" hit the streets, he became recognized as an artist and began his new career. Let's see how he did. 1. Intro / Notebook Paper: Nice intro to the track as he introduces the title and creates a track off that title. Good track with a booming beat. 3.5/5 2. Bout Dat: The track is ok. It's just more of what you're hearing in today's hip hop/rap music. Bragging about his money and how his albums gonna sell a lot of copies. 3/5 3. Aye: This isn't the best track. This is probably the worst track on the album as the beat is irritating and it gets very repetitive. One word sums it up; SKIP! 1.5/5 4. Pop, Lock & Drop It: First single off the album and it's a pretty good one. It's a nice dance track that has definitely been in the clubs for a while. 4/5 5. Closet Full Of Clothes: Hot track here as Huey flows nicely. He spits hard and the chopped & screwed hook goes along with the beat nicely. 4/5 6. 2 Nite: Another good track here as the beat is hot and the drumbs add a nice touch. 4/5 7. Tell Me This (G-5): Awesome track here though the interlude at the end should've been left out. Nice beat and this is another song you can sum up with one word; HOT! 4.5/5 8. Money Ova: Yo Gotti is definitely creating a name for himself as he adds in a great verse here. A good track that Diamond also flows nicely on. Huey still does his thing. 4/5 9. My Zone: The track is ok. Kind of a tone down from the last few. Nonetheless, still a good track. Huey flows nicely to the beat. 3.5/5 10. When I Hustle: R&B singer, Lloyd, adds in an amazing touch to the song. This is the R&B song that all rappers must have and it's a hot one. Best track so far. 5/5 11. Luv N Ya Life: Not a great track but the beat is pretty good. It could've worked for someone else, but as for Huey, not so much. 2.5/5 12. Nobody Loves The Hood: A nice personal track here that is self-explanitory by the title. Huey shows a different side here and I like it. 4/5 13. Glad 2 B Alive: Great track here as T-Pain adds a nice touch. The beat definitely fits T-Pain more and it's a hit. 4.5/5 14. Pop, Lock & Drop It (Remix): One amazing track to end an album on. The best one on the album and Bow Wow owns the song. T-Pain may have been better. I don't know! A remix that totally smashes the original into a wall. 5/5 All in all, Huey put out a nice album here. For a new comer, he's definitely one to keep your eyes on. He can't be put up there with rappers such as Lil Wayne (my favorite in the game), Bun B, Young Jeezy, 50 Cent, or many more. He is still putting out a name for himself and may be good enough to pursure this career without hesitation. Overall Score: 3/5

Mr.Phenomenal14 - Horrible Spend Yo Money On Some Real Hip-Hop Music

This is very horrible i listen to only 5 tracks and its all crap spend your money on a Ludacris,Lil Wayne, Jeezy ,T.I. or Common Album

Gangsta Musik Reviewer - wow

I can name sooooo many rappers that should make a mixtape called "Da Worst Of Da Worst"

Arndog1360 - CLEAN VERSOIN

please get the clean version for this song.. click yes for clean version

sheafree - One Hit Wonder

Huey's album Notebook paper is so far the worst album ive gotten all year. i thought this would be a great cd and Huey would throw some good beats down (which he did but his rhymes werent all that great). the album relies on beats and beats alone, where as most albums have catchy hooks and great verses. this album had one smash hit, but couldnt come up as a good all around album. 3 best songs were 1. Pop Lock and Drop It Remix 2. When I Hustle 3. there is none. only 2 good songs. the rest were just pretttty bad and its a shame because it looked like he had a good thing goin on with the pop lock and drop it dance. oh well. this album is like most albums to come out these days: pointless and not very creative. i recomend u get only the 2 songs i put and not the album.

guzman530 - just another little rapper

these little rappers better get their lyrics checked and Huey sounds like he was writtin' the whole album in the first grade, and i don't care who he wit', this is garbage

bmeheadbussa - So-So

Yea Pop, Lock and Drop It was tight, but thats about it, and I think he killed it by doing a horrible remix. This album is aight it aint nothin special, I mean what kind of title is notebook paper? It looks like he put everything into Pop Lock and Drop it and tried to roll of that success dont waste your money and buy this. Wheres the heart, and the soul, and the beef these days in these rap songs?

21Vjm23 - not a one hit wonder

Oviously every song not going to be as good as pop lock and drop it. Not to many bad songs. He defintly isn't a one hit wonder. He can actully rap. Calling him a one hit wonder like calling Maino, Ace hood or Dolla weak. He's a new rapper and this album is great for a debut album.

mdevin93 - seriously...

just make a new genre for the 2000 rap/hip hop (if u can call it that) just not under rap or hip hop its embarrassing its just like putting john mayer under the punk rock section

TheRealest808 - great cd

dis was a great cd

J-Pegs - If you get nothin else

Get When I Hustle. That song is a lil addicting. Also Pop, Lock and Drop It and Aye are ok, but get them if you really don't think it can get old. I don't think Huey will make another album. Nelly murdered him on the track Cut It Out with one line. The line was... "The new St. Louis, yeah, that's funny, but I'ma stick to the old, the new don't make enough money."

cutiitete - .....

i agree with some of the other people who say buying this alubm is a waste of money. huey (no offense to him) is nothing more than a 1-hit-wonder...u no like its a wonder how he made that first song because he has no actual skills..now i liked pop lock and drop it...but it was just another dance song...so him making an album was totally pointless because if you dont know who huey is...you probably dont need to waste your time tring to figure it out...trust me he wont be around that long

kalin - fdjghk,jkhdsasdfs

nj smurf blows

RIP Pimp C, Free TIP - JESUS

Game said it best in the song One Blood: Turn on the TV All you see is the A/ Yall n*ggas better make up a dance to try to get radio play Now Huey isnt from the A, and all these one-hit wonders should just make an album together. THAT would sell.

WESTISDE RESIDER - Nobody Loves the Hood or Stupid Reviews

For all of you guys just writing reviews on the song "Pop Lock & Drop it" are saying "why bother" and "Mindless Crap" etc. but have they really listened to the FULL ALBUM??? Have they listened to the genious construction of the song "Nobody Loves the Hood" about Huey's life in his hood growing up and he dedicates the song to all of those people that still love the hood. Huey still believes the sun can shine in the hoods despite it's bad reputation. It has a great beat to it and an awesome background singer in it whose name I don't know at this time. But the bottom line is LISTEN TO EVERY song if you want to write an album review not just "Pop Lock Drop It" and then say he "is terrible"...If we wanted a 10 year old's opinion we would get one but please people leave educational reviews. Thanks for reading!

WooHoo17 - Great Debut!

A fine album for Huey. He is soo hot! Also he looks cool. Like in the music video of pop lock and drop it, and when I hustle. Here are 5 notable tracks: 1)Pop Lock & Drop it-This is the first single off of the album. Also his first song. 6\10 2)When I hustle-Good song with very amazing lyrics, and background. 5\7 3)Pop Lock & Drop it remix-Way better than the original! Also I love bow wow and T-Pain! 10\10 4)Nobody Loves the hood-This just may be one of his best songs. Also not as hard as your advarge Huey song. 4\6 5)Glad 2 B alive-I love T-Pain. Like everyone says he da man! 5\5 Final Thoughts: This is a great Debut album for huey. I can tell someday he’ll be like Kanye West. He may need to work on using different lyrics. I mean the G-5 thing is getting a little repetitive. He needs to Improve. But all and all this is a good. Album.

$Tha Carter JR$ - Quit Hatin

stop hatin on huey yeah its true pop lock and drop it is a fruity song but closet full of clothes represents his lyrical talent for real though check it out and everyother song too exept for pop lock and drop it

The One 19 - please someone spare us

its just as catchy as the other cds produced by the creative people who make money by raping music of its originality and creating recycled trash. huey should be shot for the good of music, along with the other 11,000 people who are him (plies, baby boy da prince, hot rod, MIMS, young joc, and Lloyd, just to name 6). god help us all if this is supposed to be music we listen to

$l3e9y - one hit wonders should make albums...hate all of u haters

#$%^ all da haters huey, dont listen to them they jus jelous becouse they dont have ur talent...keep makin good music

SierraCat18 - pop, lock & drop it ROX!!!

Dude, i love pop, lock & drop it remix! All my girlfriends wish i had all the songs by huey. Huey ROCKS!!!!! - Ciara :-)

toughcritic82 - DO NOT BUY

This album is terrible 2 stars is being extremly generous

True hip-hop - This is horrible

This man has no talent at all. If you want real rap check out Mos Def or Talib Kweli. Those men rap because they love it, not because some stupid big record company offers them loads of money. Huey and all those like him have no real desire to rap, they are in it for the money. This is part of the reason hip-hop is dead.

MJMusik - Not that bad

Listen, if you really are so down on rap music in general, stop writing reviews for it and find a new genre. Huey's got some tight songs on this album. 2 Nite is my favorite. Take the time to listen cuz I was actually impressed by this album in general.

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO? - HUEY IS HOTTT

HUEY IS HOTT man pop lock and drop it THAT WAS MY SONG!!! CAMAMILLA PRODUCTIONS haha

truth speaker - People!

I hate when people say that Black America today is the way it is because of hip hop! Wrong! People do what they want because why? They have their own brain cells.. All it takes is a person to grow up in an enviroment where its cool to go to jail and no one ever sat down, took the time out to tell them that a=good and b=bad.. Everyone blames things but the truth.. Those one hit wonders didnt make it because people like to shoot others down.. Can you at least give some of the black artist props for makin it and being able to feed their kids? Thats a problem, and believe me.. Hip hops has absolutely nothing to do with it.. We steady keep pushin each other down so when we keep doing that you lose artists. So keep makin your comments about hip hop and keep on shooting each other in the foot.. And then lets see where we get.. Good job Huey.. I love the album and the majority of your songs!

Quikflow - 5stars for effort on money ova

For some reason, the best song on this CD is money ova, and it's the least popular which is ridiculous. That song kicked every one of the other songs butts off this list. I totally recommend you get money ova, it's like a great rap and party song. Another song that's extremely good is lil' jon and the east side boys, "What U Gon Do" which is probably the best party song. So I recommend you save your money for getting something worth buying especially these songs. Check my pro. to see what music I like too. :)

j scrillla - hhahaa

makes me ashamed 2 enjoy rap..haha friken country greasy horrible rap southerm music

btaznpride - Notebook Paper-Huey

Southern rapper Huey is from the STL (St. Louis), which has created Nelly, Murphy Lee and Chingy, among others. Here is his debut. Intro/Notebook Paper: Bangin beat, but only an average intro. 3/5 Bout Dat: The beat is a banger and he shows you how he's "Bout Dat", a threat/boasting track. Good. 3/5 Aye: Beat was not that good, and the song follows suite. Skipper. 1/5 Pop, Lock & Drop It: First single that got him on the map, joining several different dance songs (Lean Wit It Rock Wit It, 2 Step, Walk It Out, and several others). The song didn't grow on me and I wasn't feelin the beat, as others. 3/5 Closet Full Of Clothes: Beat is light with smooth flowing horns and synth. Nice track. 4/5 2 Nite: Beat would have sounded better with an R&B singer on the hook or somewhere on the track, beat at times can get tiresome. Average. 3/5 Tell Me This (G-5): Beat is smooth flowing and good. Huey does well with this threatening track. 4/5 Money Ova: The street banger, it is extremely hard and Huey shines along with Diamond (of Crime Mob) and Yo Gotti. 4/5 My Zone: Average track that was a feel good joint. 3/5 When I Hustle: The ever so smooth Jazze Pha production, moves smoothly with Lloyd on the hook. The typical chick love track on the album. 4/5 Luv N Ya Life: The high life track with average production. 3/5 Nobody Loves The Hood: Emotional track, that has nice production, good track. 4/5 Glad 2 Be Alive: Beat is tiresome, it has lyrics about what goes on around. Average. 3/5 Pop, Lock & Drop It Remix: Bow & T-Pain get on the remix, T-Pain sounds out of place, Bow does a nice job. Average remix. 3/5 Wether Huey is just a one hit wonder or lasting southern artist, the beat or production is what seems to determine how good the song is. Lyrically he is the average southern artist, making catchy hooks with production that makes you like the song. Rating: 6.5 out of 10

$hiz - cool but...

the album has good beats and stuff but wat is wit all the cursing i mean really wat up?

K55 CEO - Its straight

I guess this cd is cool if you like rap alot. I mean its good but its not like he t.i. or somebody else. He really needs to step he game up but i must admit the song closet full of clothes is bumpin. I would recommend that you buy that song and that song only dont waste your money on the whole cd.

White=Blanco - CLEAN

Hey, this album is tight, but Itunes, you need the clean version. Get it soon please

Old Skool Rap Fan - Yup I Was Right

one hit wonder like always

tony0987654321 - wow

this is a great album everybody should buy it

TheRealKashifG - It's Wat it is.

Aye yo yall bucks don't see da brighter light on his album. Try listenin' ta "Nobody Loves The Hood".

MELO21 - luv it

i luv listening to ur cd its so funny. this is one of those cd's u listen to and u say how did u get a contract at all. i dont even like one of ur rediculous songs and they dont even make sense. hahaha love listening to it when im down because u can always make me laugh.

Its_Jay - Let me ask you a queston:

For the song "When I hustle", do you think Lloyd has done some hustling in his days? Don't get me wrong, the vocals were hot as ever, but i can't imagine lloyd really hustling; maybe huey

EN78 - Gahhhhbage.

Speaking along the lines of a previous reviewer, you can tell who comes into the hip hop game for the love and who does it for the money. This guy Huey, who has the same name of one of Donald Duck's nephews, has no love for this music. Just for the money. I hate artists like this because he's just another carbon copy of the last garbage hip hop artist who makes corporate slave cookie cutter music for a buck. F*@& you. Thanks Huey and everyone who made guest apperances on his album cuz after all, birds of a feather flock together, right? Huey, you're garbage.

big boi 1221 - Yeah

Okay, I'm not quite sure what to make of this album, but I'll try my best to give an honest review. First and foremost, this album bangs. The beats are very southern, and are generally hit or miss. They are all good to ride to, but some of the songs are very predictable. Also, the lyrics follow a similar pattern. However, Huey switches up topics once and awhile throughout the album, and his flow and breath control are remarkably good for someone so young (19). The album is fairly decent, as When I Hustle, Nobody Loves The Hood and Glad 2 B Alive are the more uplifting, thought out songs while 'Bout Dat, Aye, Money Ova and My Zone are the more gangsta songs. Preview the album first, but this is a decent album and a good start to a hopefully lengthy career. Worst song: ironically, Pop, Lock & Drop It (Can't freaking stand that girl).... 3 1/2 stars

ACORN31 - Definately Worth Gettin'

Sure a lot of people will hate on HUEY for the Club Banga, Pop-Lock-& Drop It, but thats exactly what it Is and what it was put out for - TO GET THE CLUBS POPPIN'. Dont let those "POP" lyrics throw you - HUEY IS A LYRICIST and can throw down wit the best of'em and can easily flip tha script from some hood type ish... Like "MONEY OVA" to some Tupac'esque "Glad 2 B Alive" and than there's more than enough Club Bangaz like - "CLOSET FULL OF CLOTHEs" , "AYE" , and "TELL ME THIS" - and then the Collabos - Lloyd and Huey on "WHEN I HUSTLE" is tha ish and c'mon Diamond and Yo Gotti on "MONEY OVA" - THIS ALBUM IZ THA SH!T and for those who dont know - PLease dont think this is the same type of album as Nellys "POP" albums. HUEY definately has a future hopefully people wont sleep on him over some dumb ish.

NITA2007 - i've heard betta

it ok but not perfect there iz only two good songs on the cd which are pop lock n drop it and when i hustle.

AAfreak - Great!! I-Tunes get the clean version for the weaklings

Good album, but PLEASE itunes give us these songs in clean versions some people, like my little brother cant listen to explicit music. For another thing, get Cyclone, by Baby Bash and T-Pain thats one heck of a song that you need to add i would buy it!

kjw723 - very impressed!

this is a great album. all the songs are good are catchy. everyone who hates huey really didnt listen to this album at all. he is off the chain

Mr. Icecube - horrible

Huey is just another example of what secular hip-hop is branded by. I have honestly never heard such a morally deprived album. there is no reason to buy this album. I'll tell ya right now that I'm a fan of hip-hop, I like the way it sounds, but you just cant get by the aweful lyrics of people like this. Now there are some good rappers out there like T.I., Ma$e, Chamillionaire, Grits, Everyday Process, and the list goes on forever. But Huey is just plain wrong, just take a listen to the 30 sec. clip of his song "Aye." In the 30 seconds that you listen to this song you can automatically tell that he doesn't give a damn about what he says. People need to step up a little, this kind of music makes you feel a dirt bag. And it gives black people a bad name, I'm sick of people like Huey who are jumpin around talkin about hoes and drugs and money being the thing that rules their lives. there is more to live for. and this crap music needs to stop.

knozhizbeatz - good, really good

this is definitely a solid album with better than solid beats, the lyrics could be better but w/e. There are some great people featured on here. Everyone shoule get pop, lock, & drop it remix!
