taking the long way - These girls are inspiring!

I love these girls for speaking their mind and standing up for what they believe in! they are amazingly talented and have beautiful and powerful, emotional songs and I love them. Dixie chicks please reunite!

AidFelix - You Tell Em!

One of my most favorite albums! They really took a different route and it worked well. Like nothing they've made, which is awesome. Any artist that can change, but keep it real is an amazing artist to me!

chatty_307 - THIS is the Dixie Chicks!!

Love this album & have always loved them!! Just disappointed to their new album, Gaslighter!!!

tennisplayinfool07 - New Style for the Chicks? Maybe?

I was looking through the reviews and was very suprised to see that the song "Lullaby" got virtually no attention. I'm not much of a country fan, but this song is absolutely addicting. It's melody is beautifully unassuming and delicate. When listening to it, I find that my thoughts are lost to the poetic old south or simply a field of flowers on a lazy summer day. I think the Dixie Chicks should explore this sound. Their voices are perfect.

Music Journey - Great Album!

After taking a break from the music scene, the Dixie Chicks are back. The album is full of great songs, my favorite is "Not Ready To Make Nice." And, I don't blame them for still being MAD!! They are a great band, with a lot of emotion in their lyrics.

Dixie Fan 33* - Love It!

I love the Dixie Chicks! They have such great songs! I wish they still made music.

le freak 21 - CHICKS FOR PRESIDENT 2012!

been a fan since the first album. never listened to much in the line of country but they've always been an all time favorite! no matter what anyone says, they stand for what they believe and I think that's inspiring.. Bush is just mad he can't sing like them :)

Phoebe N Linn - This album is amazing!

This album is so catchy and fun. I would REALLY recommend it!

daisymaelover - Buy it. You know it's amazing.

This album reflects the pain and backlash experienced following a negative comment on our then-president, Bush. Each song is undeniably amazing. I'm not a Country fan, but I love this album. The best songs, if you're not one to buy a full album are: The Long Way Around Easy Silence Not Ready to Make Nice Lubbock or Leave It Everybody Knows Silent House

Meghan Moore - After a couple of years...

I still love this album. :)

Landon C - I miss them.

They were not afraid to speak their mind. That's bravery. Half of the people we listen to have different opinions than us but their afraid to lose their career. Dixie Chicks were real rebels. A big part of the south is conservative and very political and they believe if their not republican their not worth listening to. People take politics way too seriously. It's not gonna matter when you're dead. Dixie Chicks are an inspiration in sticking up for what you believe in.

JaeElle1 - UnDerRatEd

Great album!

Ericakol - I admire the Dixie Chicks

I grew up somewhat on my own and listened to the Dixie Chicks quite often for strength and self respect. Their progression has not only been steady, but inspiring. I love their ideals, their spirit, and their all around great guildance for women struggling to find a voice or power inside themselves. This album helped me realize and heal a lot of wounds. Speak out, be proud, and always follow what you know in your heart to be the right thing. Thank you Dixie Chicks, I admire you guys. Xoxo Faithfully, Erica

gkmess - Their best album, they should have never disbanded

I want to start out by saying that when the whole political thing with the Dixie Chicks happened i was still in high school and didn't really understand the political climate...and then I found Green Day. American Idiot changed the political climate in music. Saw an interview with Green Day where they mentioned what happened with the Dixie Chicks speaking out and being shut out by their own fans, and Billie Joe Armstrong said more bands really needed to speak out like that. That's how I found the Dixie Chicks. I say all this to make a point - the Dixie Chicks spoke their mind on the political climate of the time long before most people recognized the wrong that was going on, and top of all, through country music where this was taboo big time. This is the best Dixie Chicks album in my opinion and I wish they would have continued as a band and done another album like this. Now as an adult I view this album as a large political statement and I wish the Dixie Chicks were still around creating music like this.

geothevanni - I can't stop listening.

I must admit right off the bat that I was not the biggest Dixie Chicks fan, but after thoroughly listening to this album and then listening to their previous records, I can call myself and avid fan. Every song is a real piece of work. I am part of the majority that downloaded this album because of "Not Ready to Make Nice." And to anyone who has only bought that one song I implore you to take a gander at the rest. These three talented women aren't just playing music...they're telling stories.

Willowsmommy - Wonderful

Too bad country music and its fans aren't more forgiving. These women are amazing. Natalie Mains has an amazing voice. I have every album and am not much of a country fan.

THUKENOTthalico - I love them

"Made my bed and i sleep like a baby with no regrets and i dont mind saying its a sad sad story that a mother will teach her daughter that she oughta hate a perfect stranger and how in the world can the words thag i said send somebody so over the edge that theyd write me a letter saying that i better shut up and sing or my life will be over" I love them so much and i memorized that part cuz they so talented and i really wish the three of them would come back and give us another album but i guess thatll have to wait but otherwise rock on Natalie Emily and Martie i love you guys!!!!!!!!!

Liesl Ludwig - love this

I think the Dixie chicks are awesome!!!!!! I love them

Trust and Us - ❤️

❤️

Putt4Eagle - Held Accountable

This album isn't some musical memoir of the unjustly accused. It is a defiant middle finger to great majority of the fans that made the Dixie Chicks who they were at the peak of their popularity. It both rallied non-traditional fans to their side and further distanced the country core. The Grammy Awards from a liberal Hollywood voting block were as predictable as the direction of sunrise in the morning. Few celebrities are every challenged by a fan base to this degree. Micheal Jackson and R Kelly can be p*******es (allegedly) and still draw crowds. This is not so of the country audience. Freedom of speech can be a dangerous thing, particularly when it is not weighted with some sense of practicality. The Dixie Chicks can take solace in Malibu. Memphis is another story. Top of the charts but significantly lower dollars and smaller crowds are the price you pay for defiantly and repeatedly biting the hand that feeds.

Short Stop 50 - Yet Again

America is made up of many different listeners; some will like what they hear and others won't. But lets face it, we are an opinionated group and thank God we are for that is one of the qualities what makes us a strong nation. I hope none of us ever loose our right to speak our minds. Inevidibly there will always be those of us that are listened to more than others and those are the ones that will bear the actions of those around them that will let them know what the rest of us may or may not be thinking for ourselfs. With that said, it is time for us all to move on... I have been listening to the Dixie Chicks since they started and I can say, in my own opinion, that they are one of the most popular and talented group ever to set foot on stage anywhere. This album from beginning to end is like the others before it, EXCELLENT; I for one hope that their next one is coming out soon; very soon! Keep up the Great work Dixie Chicks.

harvardboymc2xxx - Classy and Captivating

This would be one of my most listened to albums. As a music lover I have only come across a few that are really great, and this is one of them. The way that each song was written is truly beautiful. Its inspirational. They have overcome so much, and this is an amazing rebuttal. "Not Ready to Make Nice" makes you want to scream. “Easy Silence” makes you want to cry. And “I Hope” makes you want to help them make the world a better place. They are an amazing group of ladies, and this is some amazing stuff. I am not a big fan of country, but this album wouldn’t have been made if the country music industry hadn’t turned against them. So thanks for being ignorant and evil.

qallaxor - Dixie Chicks

I find it absurd that people say these ladies "alienated their fans who made them who they are" because it sounds like since they're musicians, they should allow their actions to be dictated by their fans. Newsflash: these ladies are human and have their own opinions. They may not have agreed with some things that were going on but that does not make them any less of a good band. That said, this album is very, very powerful and raw, and words fail to describe how strong this album is.

duffyluva123 - <3

This is a true band. They went from the peak of their career, down to a low. But did they give up? NOO!!! They brushed off their shoes stood up, and made the greatest comeback i have ever seen in my life! My absolute favorite band. Love Natalie Maines!!! My singing role model!!!

kal__8 - they have balls.

I love all of there songs on this album they each have an amazing statement N.R.T.M.N. was truley great and wonderful. I think it was so unfair to what happened to them. Heck she was just saying what most people were thinking. Im not saying it was right for WHAT she said but i dont think she should have gotten punished for it, and look at that 2 years later G.W. Bush is the most hated president in History...hmm who called that one?? This album is amazing and has tons of meaning to it i would recommened it with my life its great...

Hopeful, Talented singer - Better Than EVER BEFORE!

I aspire to be a country singer and i used to hate country, but not anymore thanks to the lovely and talented Dixie Chicks and plan to preform one of their songs soon.

sjsharksfan39 - The Only Good Thing That Came From Thier Comments

Their comments in 2003 decrying the War lead to a lot of controversey and being absolutely shunned from Country Music. I don't know why, but that controversey still goes on today and I'm not sure if the Dixie Chicks are ever going to get back together. Still, there was one great thing that came from that, and it was this album. Like them or hate them, they were wonderful song writers, and not all songs here were because of what they said. Yeah you have the obvious ones in Not Ready to Make Nice, Everybody Knows, and The Long Way Around, but there are songs on this album that talk about many other things such as: Silent House - This is a song about Natalie's Grandmother who had Alzhimers and it's a really personal and deep song Voice Inside My Head - Probably my second favorite song on the album, behind Thin Line, which is not included on the Itunes release but should have been. It's a song about giving up someone for Adoption or Abortion, and again it's a really personal song. This is just a fantastic album and probably thier best album. It's a shame it probably is thier last.

edward_emanuelson - .

This is the album where they jumped the shark.

party kid - Dixie rocks

I really miss them they had tallent unlike many country stars they knew what they were doing all because of her big mouth she destoyed it eh what can you do.

Kayakerk - Never going to buy another song from them ever

I don't care how many "celebrities" they parade on their music to get back in good graces. Once you open your mouth you can't take it back. Hopefully the music industry will boycott them as I certainly do not want to hear them anywhere, including on a CMA award show.

Elsonn - Great album

These girls are great!

Ana-Alicia - Brilliant!

Dixie Chicks are one of the few artist that continue to release better and better albums through the years.I first listened to the DC when their Fly album came out and thought it was a great country album;then I heard TOTW and loved the new direction they took it and it became my fav from them, and then this album came out and exceeded all my expectations. This album is now one of my favs of all time.I love that they made this album personal and put alot of emotion in it.Something we barely hear these days. This album reminds me of old 70's rock like Fleetwood Mac and Zeppelin.Great job on this album DC;this album will never get old.I truly recommend this album for people who loves real music and want to hear the emotions and lyrics of what these girls went through after the backlash. All the songs are brilliant, but my favs are:Not Ready to Make nice,The Long Way Around,Silent House and Baby Hold On.

Kep014678 - I heart chicks

I love this group wish they would come back and make another number one cd.

0ld Sch00l - Free Speech!!!

These women are a perfect example of what America stands for, and what we have lost. They were brave enough to stand for what they believe in. Yes Bush was a horrible president, and everybody knew he was a joke when he even ran for president. I think the war was a conspiracy, and I stand behind them and what they said. Beautiful music from the heart! Love them!

katkw - Taking the Long Way Around

Love it! What talented musicians! Enjoy.

happi6 - looove them

love the 1st 9 songs keep it up.

loveevol46 - They were great!

I don't care what their political views were, I love their music. With the way country is going now a days, we need them back!

OnlySethDavis - Awesome.

Wonderful.

swansong7 - I like these Chicks - a lot.

I will admit - in my indie coolness The Dixie Chicks were a tough sell. I never really gave them a chance until I saw the documentary "Shut Up and Sing", which is largely about the creation of this album. I was really moved by some of the songs as they appeared in the film and downloaded the album. I am not disappointed. "Silent House" is a dark fiddle driven tune that has an "old timey country" feel. "The Long Way Around" is a getting-the-hell-out-of-my-highschool-town anthem that can resonate with anyone who took the less chosen path. "Lubbock of Leave It", a rocking tribute to Buddy Holly, speaks of small town hypocrisy and how the outlandish, in time, becomes the norm. If my son is in the room and I hear "Lullaby" I start bawling my eyes out. While there are a few rather formulaic pop country songs here and there, the bulk of the album deals with some pretty tough themes and the songs are very powerful. I am glad I opened up my mind and gave this album a chance.

Foster826 - Incredible Album

I was a big fan of the Chicks from the very beginning, but with the release of Taking the Long Way, I became even more of a fan. Each song is absolutely incredible and the lyrics are so true. You really feel what these girls feel, and the emotion comes across in every song. It's a shame that country radio has stopped playing their music and that so many close-minded people have stopped listening to their music, but they still have a large fan base. Also, if that stuff never happened, this album would have never happened. I believe that this is one of the best country albums of all time, and I applaud these wonderful ladies for their talent and standing up for what they believe in.

bindigok - Best of 2006

Deserves the Grammy. This is what music should be, they took a hard time and turned it into art. It's well written and produced.

kdf120 - Love this album

I think this is their best album, I can see why they would take so long to do anything because one day they were on top of the world the next they are the doormats of America! I love them always have always will!!!

lcallahan25 - Your Music Rocks

I am so ready to see you all make a comeback tour!!!!! I loved seeing you guys out in Texas and Alabama.

BillyLee - Still great

Love the chicks, and love this albums.

Joan Kerr - Taking The Long Way

This CD Is Really Great!! The Song Not Ready To Make Nice Has Hit Home For Me In How i Really Feel About some things in My Own Life. Worth Getting :-)

Jes colt - Great

Great album is all I can say!!...

<3Emmy - Impressive!!

I have to give this album applause!! This album is definitely the pinnacle of their music career. They have put their hearts and souls on the line and the emotions they have felt over the whole Bush catastrophy out for everyone to see. Their bravery in doing so astounds me and shows us that their sisterhood has not been weakened by the whole situation, but only grown stronger. I am impressed by their strength and that their songs on this album emit the raw feelings that they must have. They are not afraid to vent to their fans and share their feelings and I think their fans appreciate this quality about the album just as much as I do. The songs 'I Hope' and 'Bitter End' remind us of that. The harmonies of Martie and Emily beautifully accompany Natalie Maines' strong voice throughout the whole album. The wistful lyrics long for the carefree moments before the bitter taste of reality of the Bush controversy came flooding in. I love their endurance and the brutally honest lyrics that come pouring out! This album is very impressive and I still love to listen to them today. I am proud to call myself a fan and will be eagerly listening for their next album!

la-land-e-dan - Great Album

This is an amazing album and the story behind it really adds to the emotion in the music. Buy it!!!

JenVanV - FANTASTIC
