I gave a disappointed review for Smitty's last album "Stand," because I knew he could do better. When I saw a new Worship album was going to be released, I was excited because his Worship albums are incredible; this is Michael W. Smith's niche. He can arrange great scores and play the piano very well, and when he has a choir backing him up and he's energizing a packed audience, the listener is covered in goosebumps and filled with soaring spirits. A New Hallelujah is a different experience from his previous worship albums, this one was recorded in Houston rather Canada and the hymns are contemporized with electric guitars, percussion, and the African Children's Choir. None of these editions are overbearing, but add energy to the experience. I did not buy A New Hallelujah on iTunes, I got the CD instead, but I highly recommend you snag this album along with his other two worship records.

Rarely does a Christian CD impact me as much as this one...very glorifying to our Lord Jesus. Well done, Michael!

This album rocks. I saw Smitty in concert with Steven Curtis Chapman and he did several of these new songs. I had never seen Smitty in concert before and now I have great respect for him. He is an incredible man of God with a heart for leading others in worship. I have the other two live Worship CDs and this one is the best yet.

again "smitty" uses other artist's work to make some money....its just sad that so many "christian" artists like w just can't be creative enough to make their own music...they just ride the coattails of their contemporaries to put out a "worship" album. this is just another reason that the contemporary christian music scene makes me want to throw up.

How does Michael W. Smith do it? This is another incredible worship album that can only come from a veteran like MWS. The new song "Deep in Love with You" pretty much sums up Michael's heart not only for this project but how he strives to live his life everyday based on several recent concerts of his that I have had the priviledge to see. Unlike many praise & worship albums these days, this one will leave the listener in awe of the Power & Majesty of God as opposed to the talents of the singer/songwriter.

This is definetly Michael's music, because it's so touching. Wonderful worship music, and possible the best I've heard in a long time. What I would give to have been there! The Children's Choir adds a beautiful touch.

This was very beautiful and worshipful and appeals to all types of musical tastes.

Most of the songs on here are good. Dont get me wrong... But the only thing is i hate it when someone takes an already amazingly popular song from another artist and redoes it(Amazing Grace, Mighty to Save) Both versions of these songs are terrible. Well not so much Mighty to Save but Amazing Grace is absolutely horrible! I liked most of the rest of the songs tho! Overall pretty good!

My favorite CD ever!! All of these songs touch me so deeply. This cd helps me to realize what a great Lord and Saviour we have. The song "Grace" absolutely brings me to me knees. I thank the Lord that He put this great gift within MWS and that He allows God to use it for His glory!!!

We could all take a pointer from Michael when it comes to this...hasn't he been doing this for like 50 years...and it keeps getting better! I love songs written and sung from the heart...if you do too, check out "Carry Me Glory"

I was fortunate to go to a college where MWS would just drop in and visit. Having heard him play in the background during a prof's lectures and adding depth to the worship involved to our chapels, listening to this CD brings me back to that amazing time when you knew God was in the room with you. Way to go MWS, and thank you for reminding me of that time once again!

When I bought the song Healing Rain, I thought it would be the full version. This version just repeats "Healing rain is falling down, healing rain is falling down. I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid" over and over and over! There are no verses.

Wow! This album is amazing. It makes me want to get down on my knees and worship the Lord. Michael W. Smith has a way with words and music. I recommend this album to anyone who loves the Lord and wants encouragement in their relationship with Him. My favorite song on this album is "Healing Rain". It is SO good! :)

The originals on this album are quite good and probably worth the price of the entire album. But the covers are absolutely horrible. Do we really need yet another version of Majesty or Mighty to Save? Playing those at a worship event is great, but please don't put them on an album. The P&W scene has gotten incredibly lazy. Someone writes a great song, then dozens of other artists, unwilling or unable to write their own originals, put "their" spin or interpretation on it.

This album is very anointed and amazing. Michael W Smith does an amazing job with this album, you can literally feel the presence of God in every track..Wow

I loved his Y'shua references in Prepare Ye the Way. I pray that the Church rediscovers its Jewish roots and that the Church and Messianic Judaism become echad (one) under Messiah.

This album is awesome. It is filled with the Holly Spirit and will touch everyone who listens to it. I love the way Michael has gone back to his roots for the album and his love for music is evident. Praise God for the wonderful arrangements and may they touch your heart as much as they have mine.

'A New Hallelujah' is an absolutele favorite of mine. It is a very genuine album for those who believe in the love of the Lord. From the first song to the last one, Michael W. Smith gives us a work of art featuring the African Children's Choir, Coalo Zamorano, and Israel Houghton, to help create a true and beautiful masterpiece. How the demons must fear this leader of praise!

I have all of Smitty's other CD's and worship tracks, but I would have to say that this one is his best yet. A Must have for any Smitty fan!!!

Does anyone else find it sad that Christian artists have stopped using there own creativity and just covered other people's songs to make a hit record? I think it's a shame that all it takes these days is the ability to write three originals, cover two Hillsong, a Tomlin, and a Delerious...and boom you have a new cd! No wonder the world finds Christians to be fake, when all we do is copy other Christians or pop culture. Let's be more creative folks!!

This album is awesome! I love track 12 with Smith sharing! I love his heart! I got his single when it came out and couldn't wait until this album came out! I am so happy to have it now! I love GREAT praise music! I love BIBLICAL lyrics with POWERFUL music!!! Some of my favorite tracks include Shout Unto God, Amazing Grace, Majesty, and I LOVE Mighty to Save! The first time I ever heard that song was at a Chasing Cadence show and it BLEW ME AWAY! Praise God for such great bands and men who love the Lord and desire to sing His praise!!! Go check out Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Enfield, and Chasing Cadence (my favorite!) Love you all!!!!

Love this album I know every song!!!!!

This album has the sound of unity in Jesus Christ. The arrangements, performances and talents are amazing, yet secondary to the purpose of the album. The cover songs are great, but I think Smith's songwriting on this album is exceptional. This is an album you will listen to over and over again.

Do I hear.... Copycat?!? Why did Smith have to go and copy Mighty to Save... The Stand was bad enough... When he writes his own hit song I'll applaude him, but this copying of songs then selling albums of them is a low way of trying to making money. Smith, get a life by not copying greats songs of other artists.

This is one of those albums that has the Spirit of God written all over it. You can literally enter into God's Throne Room with a spirit of rejoicing, worship and intimacy. It's all there.

One of the best CD's I have ever heard. I have my favorites (and they stir my emotions), but every song is great!

I went to Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman;s concert yesterday here in Massachusetts ( which was AWESOME) and i bought this cd there and i LOVE it! all the songs are awesome! A New Hallelujah , Mighty to Save, Shout Unto God, Help is on the Way, and The River is Rising are the highlights!!

Thank you, Smitty, for a great worship album with fresh new worship songs that really allow me to connect with God. It is so wonderful to have music like this that can and does encourage one's faith. You are a great encourager and I pray that God keeps you grounded and in the palm of his hand. I remember listening to you when I first was saved 22 1/2 years ago. You music encouraged me then and it encourages me now. This is definitely worth a purchase!

It is good to hear Michael back on his game. This worship album does not disappoint. Every song is awsome.

Deep in love with you, repeat all day!

The Title of the albumn in and of itself shows Michaels desire to sing a new song to Jesus. Deep in love with You is also new. Michael wrote that with his wife and Christa Black. In other words, family and friends got togeather and Jesus used them to write new music that everyone worships Jesus by. That pleases the Lord. God did not say every single song has to be new. Jesus inspired original writers to write the song, someone else hears. It touches their heart. Then they worship God their own way. So many timesI have listened to worship songs that have already been written, and they say exactly to God what I want to say. When I sing them. It is me singing to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Michael W. Smith has been very successful in pulling the body of Christ together in worship. All his worship albums have been hugely successful. He has an incredible ability to arrange the charts and recruit players that freshen familiar songs. I just saw he and Steven Curtis @ the United Concert Saturday night. He did many of these songs. Those of you "criticizing" him for not using all new material don't seem to understand worship leading. He uses familiar songs, just ilke he did in his previous worship projects to draw in the people. This is a "live" recording. In order to capture the people, they must know the material. GREAT ALBUM!!

With international flare and a cross-cultural cry to worship God, Michael has really upped the ante on the standard he set with Worship and Worship again. Michael W. knows how to raise the bar and this album is no different, so if you love Michael W's previous work you will undoubtedly feel blessed by A New Hallelujah. I have always liked MWS work, but ever since he started doing praise&worship, I love him even more! Yeah some of the songs aren’t his, but so what! (I'm sure Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, and the rest don't mind!!) The point is to worship, and wow, there are some intense worship moments!! From track 4 “Mighty to Save” all the way down to track 11 “Grace”, great worship! Love the new “I Surrender All” arrangement, and also that Coalo Zamorano was a part of it!! Israel Houghton is great as always in “Help is On the Way”… If u don’t like the praise&worship genre/style, then u probably won’t like this. But fortunately I do, and I really enjoyed it!! Get it!!!!!!!

I cannot believe that anyone could even THINK that Michael W. Smith would be making this album and using other artists' songs to make money! When you go to one of his concerts, or listen to him talk about his new album, it is SO obvious that the sole reason behind the creation of "A New Hallelujah" is to bring glory to our great God. I strongly believe that this album far exceeds his other two worship albums, as you can feel a huge amount of passion in each of his songs. He's not in it for the money. He's in it to worship God!

Many of these songs I have loved for a whiel including "Shout Unto God", "Mighty to Save" and "Majesty" He adds a new feeling to these songs making most of them better. His new songs are exceptional too. Before, Smitty only had a few songs that I liked while most of them I didn't. This one however, I like nearly everysong.
