Kevin Au - 5 Stars for McPhee!

I absolutely love Katharine's two performances featured in this collection. Her rendition of "Somewhere" is absolutely beautiful and her duet with Andrea Bocelli for "The Prayer" is breathtaking! Can't wait to hear the material David comes up with for Kat for her upcoming album.

yo-mo - $11.99 ????

The music sounds great but why would anyone want to pay $11.99 for 9 songs... I guess Mr. Foster thinks his music is worth $1.33 a song. It makes me choose not to purchase the DVD that I planned on purchasing at Bestbuy today.

Draegonfly - Hit Man David Foster and Friends

A bit disappointing after seeing the DVD special on PBS station, was expecting to have many more of the artists that were on the special like Michael Buble' and Josh Groban to be on the CD. Would have loved to have more of the songs on the show that they touted or led to believe was on the album. Thought the special misled the CD's magic. The songs on the CD are great, and he is a great musician.

FlashWriter - On Katherine McPhee

Yes, I know this is supposed to be a review of the Album, but this is an aside concerning Katherine McPhee. I think her involvement with David Foster may be the best thing that ever happened to her career. While she is a beautiful and tallented singer, she hasn't seemed to be able to understand where her musical strength lies and who her audience really is. Foster understands. David Foster gets it. KM's strength is NOT in pop, but in jazz and more adult contemporary pieces. Her rendition of "Somewhere" is tremendous and ranks with the best who ever sang this song. I've stopped ignoring her, she's on my radar now. I hope her association with David Foster will mark a transition from being a rather forgetable pop singer to a remarkable musical artist who can stand with the best of them. Certainly, her performance here and in other venues since she's been associated with DF, seems to mark that transition.

koolerbeans - Worth the buy

This is a CD worth buying, but in stores though. For a few extra bucks you also get the DVD of the David Foster and Friends concert. The songs, however, included here online are still amazing especially the 'Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire' with Kenny G and duet with Michael Buble and Blake Shelton of 'Home'. It's a shame that CHARICE's Whitney Houston Medley isn't available on iTunes, but it is on the CD/DVD and well worth your money. The quality of the CD/DVD is just AMAZING. All artists sound like their songs are recorded in a studio, not in front of a live audience. So I highly recommend it!

Shaneh - Pay the Extra and go get the DVD/CD combo

I was there the night this was recorded, the concert was the most amazing experiance of my life. The songs sold here are great but there are twice as many songs on the DVD of the concert. Spend the extra $$$$ and get the DVD/CD combo I promise it is worth it!

DPinFL - Completely solid recordings by great artists ~

Mr. Foster has masterminded some phenomenal musical experiences, and this is no exception. Although I prefer a studio recording to 'Live', these selections are quite balanced and crisp. For some reason iTunes has chosen to omit the name of the duet partner on The Prayer

IloveJosh17 - I am Forever grateful to David for JOSH!!!

I am totally syched about fresh Josh Groban tracks. I have yet to hear the whole thing, but I'm already sure that I will love it.

Joe Felix - Great Collection of Songs by Great Singers!!!!!

I've been waiting for this album to come out for so long. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! But I recommend to buy the whole album with the DVD. I'm very much impressed with Charice's live rendition of I Have Nothing/ I will always Love You. This would make a nice gift for music lovers!!!!

VegasRun - Prefer McKnight/Secada version of Troubled Waters...

Groban sounds muffled or too covered or something on "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." McKnight did the same song with Jon Secada this year at the ALMA Awards and it was spectacular.

tomau589 - Katharine McPhee

katharine mcphee's live rendition of 'somewhere' is absolutely wonderful and the rest of the album is great too. i would highly suggest this to any classic music lover. and by classic i mean huge hits in the past not classical! at least get katharine's song and the prayer by andrea

denver_guy - Katharine Mcphee = AMAZING

Both of her performances (Somewhere and The Prayer) are simply amazing. She has such a beautiful voice. Has anyone else watched her Disney Princess medley on YouTube??? Awesome! Can't wait to hear what Foster comes up with for her new album!

shelly9558 - Peter Cetera

That voice, those songs, that talent. Loved this medley and his vocals were spot on. I play this over and over again in my playlist.

FunksG - Brian McKnight

Bridge Over Troubled Water is an amazing duet here with Josh Groban and Brian McKnight. I am not necessarily a big Brian McKnight fan but I gotta tell you his performance in this duet is stunning. I would think that Josh Groban would be hard to stay with but McKnight stole this hands down. I am completely impressed. Fantastic.

Teacher89 - Brilliant!

I have been a fan of David's since the '80s. This CD is brilliant with its combination of band and symphony. Peter Cetera has always been a favorite, and his medley is an amazing highlight.

htinla - Excellent performances! Charice is special!!!

This album is an amazing showcase of David Foster's music performed by an impressive collection of singers. Most notable of these is 16 year old Charice. She's the newcomer of the bunch, but in this show she makes a dazzling introduction into the American music scene - it's the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Download the album here if you must, but look into getting the combo CD/DVD for the complete and thoroughly entertaining HITMAN experience. It is worth more than every cent.

Mz. Incognita - David Foster an Experience

David Foster is more than an artist-he is an experience! His best work shines in the words and music he produces mixed with the talents he finds to perform them. If exploring raw, honest emotions are not your thing, then this isn't for you. Loved "Somewhere" and "Wildflower". I love music I can directly relate to.

ccinaj - DAVID FOSTER-HIT MAN

David Foster is absolutly amazing, and so is anybody who has had the honor to work with him. His preformances with his friends was absolutly amazing and ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that he as ever done is absolutly stunning and perfect. This should not have a four and a half star rating, it should have a perfect five star rating. Anybody who gives less has no taste in music.

JebcoD13 - I had no idea!!

I have herd so many of these songs but never knew who wrote them. I was watching on wttw 11 and couldn't fall asleep because it was so good. My three favorites are Charice, Andrea Bocelli and Katharine McPhee with The Prayer, and Peter Cetera. This is amazing Wow!! Later, JebcoD13

seestarrs1 - Where Michael Johns!

Where in damnation is Michael Johns!?? He was there too that night... Oh, that's right...he was forced to sing "St. Elmos Fire" poor guy.

Jingay - worth it!

the best show ever...cd is alright, but the dvd is super good!

Scott Swail - A Strange Brew

I'm a big fan of David Foster. I have no idea what he, or the record company, was thinking on this collection. Other than housing some of his good friends and proteges, the songs are disparate in style and in production. Other than 'love' and 'whistfulness,' I'm not sure why these songs and artists and styles are together on one CD. Some are Foster-penned tunes; others, like Bridge Over Troubled Water, with McKnight & Groban, which is a bit of a strange pairing, are plucked from the vault. As with some of his past CDs, this one is suitable for most Otis elevators. Foster is better in the contemporary world when he has a bit of an edge on the music, not this maudlin product. He is also better when he focuses on his symphonic style. Buy this if you are an absolute diehard fan, or you're over 80. Sorry Dave.

couldnt decide on 1 - 5 Stars for Kat!!

This CD is worth the money, but Kat's performance is outstanding!! Best on the CD by far...

jaymierusso - What a Show!

I saw the live show at my grandparents house first, I fell in love with this show, we got the DVD/ CD for christmas! - There are triple the amount of songs on the dvd, even songs you didnt see on the live telecast! This is sooo amazing, they truly are the Greatest Performances- PS: Ok.. How could Taylor Hicks win idol over Katharine Mcphee! I have loved her from the start, and i always knew she had this potential. My new favorite song is the prayer, i love it. - Katharine is in it too. Charice is unbelievable also! David Foster truly is THE HIT MAN. If I were ever to have an album, David would be my song writer. (Too bad about Whitney Houston, otherwise she could have been on here too.) GET THE DVD AND CD, MUCH BETTER!

db playlist - What a Joke.

$11.99 for 9 songs, PUHLEEEZE!!!

Me, Teri, Loved it! - ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL ALBUM!

I love every single song. Relaxing and positive.

bgdl26 - Great songs and great talent

A great collection of songs sung by some amazing talents. Who surpised me the most was Katharine Mcphee. I always thought she had a nice voice but didnt think twice about her. Her version of Somewhere is stunning and surprisingly not oversung. Her duet with Andrea Bocelli was gorgeous. Charice is very impressive and of course Celine does an excellent job as well. I did like Brian Mcknight and Josh Grobans Bridge Over Troubled Water but felt it lacked the power I was hoping for, but overall well worth the buy.

blackhillsmusicvideo.com - Bridge

Bridge over Troubled Waters.... WORTH IT!

jsaylor - Great singing Live

Kat McPhee makes this record. I am amazed at what her pairing with David has brought. From her performance live on idol past season with him to this showcase i am so excited for her new record with david.

ajh112 - AWESOME

i've been waiting for this to come out ffor so long. Foster is extremely talented and is very good at recognizing talent. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with Josh Groban and Brian McKnight is performed very well and brings much energy to the song. Charice's performance is excellent as well as Celine Dion's performance of "Because You Loved Me." Katharine McPhee and Andrea Bocelli were an excellent pairing to sing "The Prayer." McPhee's version of "Somehwere" is sung nicely. Overall, the CD/DVD is awesome and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys these artists. *Also as a side note: for those of you who are giving this 1 star because you are angry at the price iTunes is charging--this review is supposed to be about the CD...NOT the price. if you're angry at iTunes write it somewhere else...don't give the CD 1 star because you're too cheap to pay more.

burgergdiddy - ok

this compilation is o.k. he's not the only one writing hits.. good lord.. what an EGO.. the hitman; im sure..

CarolinaMaybelle - I liked it!

I dont think you can go wrong with David Foster. The Blake Shelton tracks are my favorite!!!

arnoldApostol - TWO THUMBS UP!

This album is AMAZING!!! But buy the CD with included DVD live concert version... it's sooo worth it!

maksisu - Worth it

It's a little expensive, but worth it for the best quality live Charice performance out there.

Mr. Musics - Love it

I wanted to see the real concert but it was too late so my aunt jsut bought the cd. The time during my birthday party, we just kept playing the dvd over and over again n d visitors werent bored n said they liked it SO MUCH. OMG diz iz d best album ever with inspiration. The songs are really awesome even though they're old and David Foster is the best in the world!! yah!! If you buy the album u will really really love it.. I was touched by this dvd too and the cd.
