2ndcousin - i like it but...

i love her voice in the EP...very relaxing at times and upbeat! i love to listen to it on my way to work in the morning. The one thing i miss is the Christian lyrics...as some have said already. I loved the way she would bring the Gospel message across and i don't see it here :( She had said that her songs would always point closer to Jesus...i don't see that here. i LOVE her music...just miss the old Joy.

California Cali - It Falls Somewhere In The Middle...

I don't know. It's starts out strong with One of Those Days, but by the beginning of Charmed life, it starts to fall flat. Lyrically, she's still a genius and I'm Gonna Break Your Heart is an original concept, which I admire, but vocally and musically, it's just not Joy no matter how much she says this is more like her. In fact, I think it sounds too much like what everyone else wants to be right now: aka Sara Bareilles, Colbie Callait, Marie Digby, Francesca Battistelli, the list goes on in this current trend of piano driven, raw vocalized female artists. I've never really considered her pop anyways so why the huge change? I also hate to bring up the question of what happened to the very strong faith stance she took in her previous 3 albums. [Note: I'm not attacking her faith personally or anything! I know lack of faith-based lyrics doesn't equal lack of faith!] I will give the full album a listen when it is released and hopefully be more impressed. I also hope that there are more obvious references to her faith in the full album. I just don't buy into the whole "trying to reach the lost" thing. Hard to reach the lost if you don't give them any lyrics at all that are even slightly different from what they can already hear from secular artists. All in all, this EP makes me a little sad because Joy Williams has been my inspiration since middle school. Still, giving One of Those Days a few more listens makes me hopeful that the wonder of Joy Williams as an artist hasn't been entirely lost.

mattniss - Fantastic

This EP is really great. The songs are simple and really catchy. Looking forward to hearing more!

dco929 - I miss the old joy

One of These Days has a really catchy beat but the rest are okay. Plus I don't see the point in her songs anymore. I mean you don't always have to sing a Christian song just because you are a Christian but shouldn't that be the main message you are trying to get across? I mean look at Brooke Fraser- she may not mention Jesus or God directly but you can clearly hear the message of salvation in her music (Shadowfeet for example). I'm really disappointed in the direction she's taken because she was one of my favorite artists and had such beautiful songs like Say Goodbye (Genesis), You Don't Have to Hide, and The Love of the Lord Endures. I'm going to miss her old music and highly doubt I'll listen to the new stuff because I don't care for most of it.

♥ ♥ - i liked 2 of the songs

really it's her best songs!

meeee7 - average

I expected more - it seems as if she is trying a little too hard to fit into the nashville "indie" scene. all the songs sound the same to me. She sounds good, just expected something a little more original.

BCDE2014 - Boundless Joy

Joy Williams has created a marvelous audio experience in this EP. Her sound is unique, while still demonstrating resolve and accessibility. Her talent can't be overstated.

LindsMusic - One of Those Days...A Marvelous Time Spent!

This EP gave me chills the first time I heard it, because of it truthful and to the point lyrics! It has been a long time coming for Joy's new music and it was Worth it!

andieliz - More Joy!

I have been such a fan of Joy Williams for so long, and I was so excited to get the new EP. It's so great to hear music from Joy again! The best part is that she's doing this herself. She released this EP herself. Part of the reason I love that idea is because Joy is so talented, it always felt like the record labels held her back just slightly. To see how much her writing has grown, just listen to the new EP. One of Those Days is one of my favorite tracks, but they are all wonderful. If you have been a long time fan of Joy, you will still love the album. If you are just stumbling upon her now, this is one of her best works yet.

i love joy! - Wonderful

incredible music. Beautifully composed and witty. The first song, One of Those Days, is my favorite and I could bop around to it all day. And it's appropraite for families too!

Egyptianpepsiking - Last time I checked...

You can't be a better Christian by singing about God or writing about God. Just by loving God. I love this music.

e. lindsey - Like summer strawberries or sprouts of green...

I feel like I'm sitting in a sunbathed room with Joy, beside her at the piano, as she creatively tells me about her days. Her words are sweet and real and whimsical and her music is fresh like summer strawberries. This is a new side of Joy that I knew was there all along...the creative and unique individual that has burst forth gracefully like that first sprout of green pushing itself up through the earth in springtime. An excellent album.

elmerk - She's Back...

Joy Williams is back... in a big way. Heard her on WAY-FM tonight, and what a breath of fresh air!

JGibson - Amazing

I tend to shy away from "Christian Artists" but this album is amazing! I don't care what you believe in---this music is relevant. This girl can sing and she is one of the best artists out there today!

Neilio27 - The new JWY

Joy's new sound is now part of the indie trend of today like artists Sara Bareilles, Colby Caillett, Regina Spektor, and Feist. Joy however provides new twists to this modern indie sound with her own personal style while providing lyrics on a more positive level. This is now Joy's music, what she wanted to write and what she wanted to sing, no longer attached to any record labels that have a "say" in anything. Also, if anyone has ever met JWY then they would know how truly passionate she is for her music and that she is one of the mos real music artists you will ever meet. Lastly, this album will be a great start to her renewed music career.

kv0n - Beautiful song by a beautiful person

Her voice reflects her inner beauty, which can make anybody smile.

stlhs55 - Satisfactory

I was so excited when I found this new music of Joy's. So I begin listening to it and I must say I really enjoy her new sound, but I must say that I am dissappointed that her faith does not shine through more in these songs. Though, other than that I found it very good and love the new indie sound. Still, if she could have just pushed her faith through more I would have been more pleased. Four stars.

T-Bauer - Oh people...

It's kind of funny how people assume that Joy is less of a christian simply because her music has changed. Last time I checked...you weren't called to judge her...I mean, you don't even KNOW her. It's just interesting. Maybe instead of blindly judging someone, we should encourage this woman of God. My opinion may be the minority here, but whatever.

Cybergrrl9700 - Uplifting and Great Vocals

All the songs on this EP are great, positive lyrics from a real woman. Her voice is melodic and I it's easy to see why her popularity has increased since playing the song on Grey's Anatomy.

farmgirl14 - she's changed

I love her old albums newest album not so much. She's really changed she doesn't even sound like herself. I still like her music now but I liked it better before.

Slikshot - Not what I was expecting--in a bad way

I have faithfully purchased all of Joy's music, so I continued to follow suit with this release. Her career has clearly taken a new path. Her voice is still in good form and the production on this EP is professional. But for those who were looking for a follow up to her Christian releases may not be getting what they had hoped for.

natalie :]] - After a bit of a hiatus - Joy delivers!

I've been a fan of Joy Williams, this talented singer-songwriter with ever inspiring and uplifting music, and this EP shows nothing less. :) I would definitely recommend buying, and all I can say is that I cannot wait for her next full-length album. :] muchlove.

Jen3589 - Love it!

Great songs :)

Joni's Husband - Great!

This is a fresh, intense new EP from one of the most amazing voice talents I've heard in recent years. Get this album. It's totally worth it.

Joy Williams - One of Those Days-EP A MUST HAVE

Joy's new EP is awesome! I love her new style and I actually can hear her smile while singing her songs. I usually do not watch Greys, but it was a must watch when I found out "Charmed Life" was going to be playing on the show. I can listen to her over and over! I can't wait for her new music. Great Job Joy!!

Shearoe - Great collection of songs!

Have also loved Joy's voice- and absolutely adored "Genesis" so I've been waiting for something else. I love the style she's going for here and look forward to much more. I think "Charmed Life" is my favorite!

twomamma - One of Those Days

Great album!! She has such a unique voice and I love all of the songs. So worth the money!

Hikaro - "One of those Days" will make your day :-)

I've been listening to Joy Williams ever since I picked up her first CD in a Christian bookstore way back in middle school. I have to say, "One of those Days" is probably my favorite song of hers so far. It's catchy, upbeat, heartfelt, and more complex than the run-of-the-mill pop genre. Her love songs are quite romantic and joyous, but not to the point of being sappy or sugarcoated. I preordered the album so I've had the songs on my iPod for a couple weeks and always look forward to when shuffle mode brings one of these songs up :)

hebrews 11:41 - This new EP questionable..

I half-way like this album for a reason. The beat of her songs are really nice and catchy, but what happened to the joy williams that wrote lyrics pertaining to God? I'm not impressed with her new song's lyrics like, "I'm gonna break your heart". That is the only problem I have with this album...

dogluvr1990 - Amazing!!!

Joy Willimas is simply amazing! Love her voice, love her lyrics, love her!!! Awesome!!!!

crh7 - a new direction?

It seems like Joy has taken a new turn in her music, can't tell yet if it's for the best or not. Different sound, different kinds of lyrics, not sure if she's trying to stay in the Christian music genre or branch out... Still sounds great though! Charmed Life was in the beginning of the Grey's Anatomy Season 5 finale!

Leah_Tard^_^ - Mixed Feelings

Love-ove! The sound its so different and fun , her voice is beautiful but I am totally disappointed that its not Christian . It makes me so sad to see that:( Why can't you have the power of the Christian lyrics with the fun cool style?! Its so sad to me.

Cacity - A different side of Joy.

This CD is definitely a different side of Joy. But, I LOVE IT! I am a fan of her new style...but, I did hope for a little more spiritual encouragement as far as lyrics go. As far as a 4-piece EP goes, this is a fun album! Along with what everyone else is saying, I, too, can't wait for Joy's full album release.

andrewdrodriguez - Best transformation imaginable

I am very excited about the new sound and new direction. The Civil Wars is really good. Good choices Joy Williams Yetton!

gueranegra - well done

instead of slapping together a quickie, Joy Williams proved why she's not just another wanna-be indie like singer with this EP. it's nice and laid back; and it has all the goodies: good lyrics, good music, and good singing. i can't wait for her next full length album.

Drawntothemagic - A surreal world of beauty

I've been following some of Joy's releases on her myspace page, but heard "What Can I Do (But Love You)" and "Charmed Life" for the first time yesterday. I have not turned her EP off since then. I love the surreal soft sound of her music, with "charming" meanings. This EP contains 4 amazing songs from Joy Williams, and i eagerly look forward to more releases in the future!! (I definitely recommend this to any one) with soft soothing sounds, its a must-have in my honest opinion.

Kara Lynell - Wow!

I've been a fan of Joy's for years and have heard her in concert. I have enjoyed her music, and am loving this album as much as all the rest! :)

yettonother adventure - Grey's Anatomy

Joy's song "Charmed Life" is featured in the opening scene (for 2 minutes) of the Season 5 finale of Grey's Anatomy (episode 523 - "Here's to the Future")

Mag Jr - One of These Days

So excited to hear GREAT new music from you!!! Cannot wait to hear more!!!

Bon09 - A unexpected surprise!

During my teen years I was greatly influenced by Joy's encouraging lyrics and challenges. I was more than happy to hear that she had come back and more as herself. I am happy to see my favorite artist performing her best! This is a great album to add to the collection. I believe there is more where this came from! Good job, Joy! And thank you for allowing us a peek into your heart, again!

Jwginn - One of Those Days is ear candy...

These songs are crafted very well and Ms. Williams has developed and grown as an artist. The songs are accessible without sounding market driven. The beauty of each song is the raw feel - making it seem as if you were in the room as the song is being sung. Ms. Williams has arrived!

marktaken - jessiegirl42

O MY GOSH SHE IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD I LOVE ALL OF HER SONGS I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT HER AND IM GONNA TELL MY FRIENDS ALL ABOUT THIS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Pottr_Nerd - One of Those Days

I love this album❤️🔥👌

Joseph is a Junk Bond Trader - Wait.....is this a pop record?

Joy William's voice is conversational. But not conversational like a boring talk with a coworker in the elevator that serves only to fill the void created by your lack of things in common. Her voice speaks to you with the sincerity and concern that you hear in your best friend's voice over the phone when they know you're having a harder time than you're letting on. I find myself soothed by the warmth of Joy's vocal articulation and feeling as if I'm the one being listened to by her. I can't help but swing my head side to side and sing along with the "hey hey's" and "ah's" of "One of Those Days". This EP makes you dance like a pop record, but closes your eyes like an indie release. As I listen, I smile as I think, "Thank you. There's hope yet for pop music." This EP is living proof that pop is not a "four letter word".

pbapottery - new chapter, still joy-filled

love the shift to subtlety. whether she's delivering overtly spiritual messages or exploring the other areas of her heart and mind, i'm royally impressed with the purity of her voice as well as her song-writing ability. sincerely hope that the charmed life continues and that she has additional opportunities to share her authenticity - which includes both Christ-centered themes and pragmatic messages from day-to-day life. keep following where He leads, joy - and thanks for doing what you do.

abic323 - Love It!

I really liked this cd. Short but sweet. I especially loved the song One of Those Days. The lyrics are really easy for a lot of us to relate to. Its really encouraging.

Sassy Mo - One of Those Days - EP

At last, some BEAUTIFUL music with melodies and lyrics that please the heart and ears. Can't wait for more and more. Keep it up, Joy. I've already nearly worn out my computer listening over and over to these four songs. LOVE THEM!

hugetaylorfan - thanks joy

this music is so peaceful, it's great anytime!

EastCoast!SwitchfootFan - Charmed Life

Okay so I'm basically only reviewing "Charmed Life" because that is the song that I've heard a lot. I heard it on Pandora, and from the very beginning of the song I was like "Oh my word, this is GOOD!" I really like the piano in it, and Joy's voice is so sweet. Different from her old work, in that it doesn't have a guitar as a main instrument, but rather the keys (something high and plinky, I'm not sure what that would be) take over. I think hear some bass in there too. Nothing heavy. It's a good airy, spring-like song that makes you feel happy!

Bryciferous - Review

This EP is delicious. I love every song on it. 'One of Those Days' is a beautiful, peppy pop song. 'Charmed Life' is amazing as well. Very happy with my purchase.
