Being a big fan of both The Dark Knight and the Hans Zimmer/James Newton Howard match-up, naturally I was very excited to see a collector's edition released! This is a dream come true for me, because a few of the newly added tracks were the ones I had been looking for! I thought I'd just have to deal with not having them, but when this album was came out, I worried no more! It includes all the compositions from the original album, plus other tracks that you might have been looking for, as I was. And of course, we have a couple remixes, that I really don't care for. I prefer the original tracks. I'm not a fan of when compostions get twisted into that techno/dance-ish mess. But besides the remixes, this album is great!

i wanted this collection for so long, but i couldnt find it anywhere. A few weeks later, i'm wandering throughout iTunes just looking for a bunch of music and here it is. it is so much better than the regular edition. but this album!! it is the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend!!!!

…BUT. If you’re going to listen to Hans Zimmer, listen to his good stuff. Like this and Crimson Tide. But other than that, Zimmer is musical junk food. Like he sounds good but he’s not good for you musically.

I loved the 1st album when it came out. Test out the new tracks, if you were into the first album, then you will probably like the new tracks...

I was wondering how to get the end credits theme from batman Begins and the Dark Knight and now we have it on this album. Definetly a neat collection of music from Hans zimmer and James Newton Howard. The electronic and brass score together makes for one good movie. I recommend the whole album, but the new ones I would choose Bank Robbery, You Complete Me, Buyer Beware, A Watchful Guardian, and all the other new ones. The score to this is just incredible to listen to because zimmer is a master at electronic, organ, or epic work and Howard is known for his melodic, dark, and fantasy driven themes. Like John Williams' new Indiana Jones soundtrack collection, we fans of Batman have been waiting for something like this since the movie came out. My most favorite Batman theme of course is the end credits to Bamtna Begins and the Dark Knigth, plus several other compilations from both and of course let's not forget Danny Elfman's groundbreaking score for Batman, one of my most favorite film scores and zimmer's and howard's score takes that one to a whole new level of enjoyment for the more darker, psychological driven Batman films of Christopher Nolan.

I love this movie, I love this soundtrack (every single song), and I love the music that Hans Zimmer and James Howard have created. Anyone who doesn't like the soundtrack or the movie is on drugs and doesn't know what they're saying.

Oh wow. Thank you itunes all I've wanted was A Watchful Guardian. It is by far the best track ever! I love it, and I think everyone agrees. And I'm even happier you guys decided to sell the track alone, not just by buying the whole sountrack. Click yes if A Watchful Guardian is the best score piece ever.

It’s a Outstanding soundtrack but why do there need to be two soundtracks of the same thing essentially just some added tracks instead of just doing one whole one also not a fan of the remix’s those complaints aside it’s still outstanding. Just to name a few Why So Serious,Like a Dog Chasing Cars,Agent of Chaos,You’re Gonna Love Me, & I’m Not a Hero. Etc.

In my own personal opinion, this is the best soundtrack of 2008 (originally released on December 9th, same day as the DVD). As big a hit was the original soundtrack, This collector's edition tops it in every way. It was instantly realized that there were quite a few unreleased tracks, most noteably the "Bank Robbery (Prologue)" & "A Watchful Guardian", which comes from Commissioner Gordon's line "he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector....a dark knight". (silent GUARDIAN, WATCHFUL protector) To my surprise, it didn't get nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Score, even though it is worthy. If you haven't purchased the album yet, or even if you have, pick this one up. Buy the actual collection from the store, its best to have everything it comes with. If you are a big fan of film scores, this is for you. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

This is a great soundtrack though I wish they had released it ealier so I didn't have to spent 10 extra dollars on the first album.

The orchestral movements make me feel sophisticated and classy, while the music itself has dark undertones and creates eerie tension. It's a great combination.

For this, you get 28 tracks from The Dark Knight. If you enjoyed the music at all, I think you should give it a try

I'd give the soundtrack 5 starts. However, there's no digital booklet included. It used to be advertised that it came with a digital booklet. Now, I finally get around to downloading the album and no digital booklet! Had I known this, I wouldn't have wasted my money.

This is a score to a movie that does not need a remix, I don't see myself or anyone else going "ence ence ence techno techno bs noises". Please, we rarely get to enjoy classical music as it is. Yippy there are some really bad sounding club mixes on here, shame on the artists that decided to be a part of this. Zimmer and Newton did a wonderful job of scoring this film to give it the life and feel it needed, adding these unemotional mixes makes the whole thing feel cheap and degrades the movie experience. If you liked the sound of the film then buy the soundtrack, not this cheap attempt at money.

If you already bought The Dark Knight soundtrack, that covers the majority of these tracks. Unsure why the producers feel the need to add techno remixes of tracks; they don't add anything to the soundtrack and are decidedly out of place among the orchaestrations of Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. On a side note...track 14, The Dark Knight, only appears on the album but not in my track listing or folder. WTH iTunes?

Fantastic dark and bruiting!!!!

The first disc is completely the same as the original and limited edition. The second disc's 10 first tracks mainly has the hero theme in Buyer Beware, and twice in A Watchful Guardian. Harvey's theme and more of his right side appears. Track 19, Gonna Love Me, is when Harvey talks to the Mayor and the fake Batman slams into the window, and the penthouse scene with the joker and Batman, (action theme is from Scarecrow showdown in Arkham in Begins) Track 18,Decent, is when Gordon comes home after Joker is capture. Halfway to Hong... is when Alfred goes to the new batcave and discussion about Rachel and Harvey. Chance is a part of Harvey's theme forshadowing Two face. You complete me is Batman's interrogation of the Joker. The Ferries mainly has harvey and joker in the hospital and when two face becomes vigilante We are tonight' entertainment is the boat scene with Joker failing his plans and his new scars. Buyer Beware is like Artibeus, Track 5 on Batman Begins and Batman stops scarecrow. A watchful guardian is the hero theme when he jumps Two face till the credits and the credits theme is altered and stops after joker's theme. It is a good soundtrack that should have been ordered a little bit better. I sort of like the first disc better. But it didn't have the hero theme appear three times. Enjoy.

This soundtrack is phenomenol. When I put in my headphones it transports me back to the movie. I get chills every time I listen to it. Best music i have ever heard. Thank you for being amazing Hans Zimmer!

People think the actors are what make a movie. But it's really the music. This soundtrack is aewsome. Every time you hear that siren sound, you know the Joker is lurking somewhere.

Seriously, if you're going to buy this, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing it elsewhere. You can get the bonus disc by itself here but for this 2-disc set, you're going to want the collectible hardbound photo book that houses the discs. That's the whole point of this set is for collectors and the book itself is awesome. But, if you don't want to spend the $40+ and you don't have the original soundtrack already, by all means, buy this.
