HannahJG - Did Van Halen Magically Disappear? What about the Bands who are ACTUALLY Rock?

Where's Rush? Muse? Smashing Pumpkins? Incubus? Van Halen? And Green Day made it on there? People who put this together must really have no brain.

Sebastian's Dad - A lot of odd choices

I agree with the few who have commented on Rush. Highly influential band who are only behind the The Stones and The Beatles for Album sales worldwide. Green Day? Under appreciated? I too think they are very good, but they are not as influential as say the Clash. I hope they may make it in, I think the hall needs more bands like them and Iggy and The Clash. Now to the songs... I agree the Prince solo at the end of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" makes this worth the price of admission alone. I find some of their choices curious. Do we really need TWO Bruce Springsteen and Mick jagger songs? I love Fleetwood Mac but do we need yet ANOTHER version of "Landslide"? To me the most spine tingling moment, other than the Prince guitar solo, was the Jeff Beck/Jimmy Page version of "Immigrant Song". Why isn't THAT on here? What about R.E.M. performing as whole unit with Bill Berry back on drums? Maybe these will be rectified on future releases. I hope so.

Metal Fan 1 - Metallica

I got chills listening to Iron Man.

cbh1011 - Hard to compare to Jim Morrison.... but

Eddie sure does a damn fine job. I love this version of Roadhouse Blues! Wow. 5 Stars for this song along.

Unsatisfied costumer #2 - Prince is a Boss🎸!

Prince's solo is only to be outdone by the video of this performance. He literally leans back into the crowd while not missing a note and sends his guitar to guitar "heaven" at the conclusion. Petty and ELO frontman Jeff Lynne are haunting and Steve Winwood's organ couldn't be more soulful!

TuRTle0420000 - When My Guitar Slowly Weeps

To anyone who is wondering lately what the big deal about Prince is, listen to When My Guitar Slowly Weeps. His solo starts at about 3:30. THIS is why he was one of the greatest musicians who have ever graced this planet with their presence. Even better, do yourself a favor and watch the performance on YouTube. He outshines every musical legend on stage. To the point where every musician on stage is simultaneously watching Prince while playing "with" him. Then he leaves the stage in only the Prince could. May he rest in peace. .

Elliebrutusmollie - Where's RUSH?

A lot of good songs here. But without RUSH in the Hall of Fame how can u call this HOF music??

postalone - Rock Hall of Fame ???

just think about this ,go on line and see how many great rock bands and sole acts that are not in RHF took till this year for Alice Cooper , its a joke people , been there its nice but don't take it to seriously just people with money and power making themselves look good , nothing else. Enjoy your music on your terms not theirs . Don't get me wrong good selection of songs great bands nice CD but take it for what it is nothing more.

Promokeith - I was thrilled

When I saw Metallica on here I knew it would really be a great Hall of Fame album. \M/ Forever

Bordeaux61 - Five stars for one song

A classical version of While my guitar gently weeps until Prince let talk his Telecaster, and kill everyone.

TuneZone2010 - So many greats missing

There are some good performances here, however, the R & R HOF has no credibility until musically innovative groups such as Chicago and The Electric Light Orchestra are inducted. Jeff Lynne (ELO mastermind), even performs on this collection showing his incredible talent and class honoring others. Wake up Hall of Fame and give those who have earned it their due. .

kwgtwrgtweyh - How about no.

you induct zz top, aerosmith, and metallica yet leave out iron maiden and rush? They're all equally good bands, GIVE ME A BREAK

snowdog_2112 - Where's RUSH? AGAIN ! ! !

The HOF and anything associated with it is irrelevant until they make the long overdue and obvious selection of RUSH. It's just embarassing and ignorant that they've been passed over yet again.

chancler682 - No Rush=Good

not putting rush on here was a good move. Having to listen to that voice makes me want to give myself a honey enema and sit on top of an anthill.

KarlyLovesGreenDay - For the Person Hating on Green Day

Green Day is an excellent band and by saying the don't belong on this record is an outrage. Green Day went from zero to hero and they didn't get there just because of looks. Their album "Dookie" reached number two on the "U.S. Billboard 200" and charting in seven countries. Over 16 million copies were sold world wide. "Dookie" was also ranked 193 best album of ALL TIME, that isn't easy to do. Their album "American Idiot" charted in 26 countires and reached numer one in 19 of them. It's sold over 14 million copies world wide and sold 267,000 in it's first week of being released. Not to mention that "American Idiot" has been turned into a BROADWAY MUSICAL. By saying that they don't belong on this CD with the other legends on here is wrong. Obviously that person doesn't know the history behind Green Day.

rosasky - PRINCE!!!!!!!

If nothing else, you must by this version of While my Guitar Gently Weeps because it contains the most amazing Prince guitar solo at the end. He really showed what he can do here. And if you have not seen the video of this performance that is even more amazing the the track because Prince is like in a trance. He almost falls of the stage and keeps playing and exits in a way only he can pull of. Just watch it. He is the coolest. Case closed.

David Barnett - Best of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Agree, the selections are getting more bizarre every year. Dr. John and Tom Waits but no Rush? No prog rock at all beyond Pink Floyd? As for Green Day and DMB, they're too new. Eligibility begins 25 years after their first release.

MusicMahem - Greatest album

Rock has been around so long and it always will

Ragnarok - Rush? Oh Wait...

Green Day? Where is Rush? I mean they're only the greatest Progressive Rock band of all time. Yet Green Day is here? Really?

TheRealJacePeterson - GREEN DAY

Green day will be in the hall of fame as soon as they are eligible. They are so under appreciated. It is the only song worth buying. It's a GREAT cover.

pk rules - Nickelback??

What?! No Nickelback?!?!! That is seriously messed up, they are like the best rock band ever, they should be on here!!!

# 1 Reviewer - Blitzkrieg Bop!!

this is the only song you should get, Green Day is one of the best live bands in the world, period...

music rox my sox off! - Um, I can't think of a title. So, *random title here*

Geez, practically all of these songs are good, for their different genres anyway. Sure, I'm not the biggest fan of, I don't know, Green Day and Metallica, but that's because I don't really like that kind of music. However, I love the rest of the artists (Cream, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, just to name a few). If you are a true Rock 'n' Roll fan, then I suggest you buy this. And for the love of all things good in this world, please, please don't comment on this if you like, I don't know, artists like Justin Bieber and only artists like Justin Bieber, because honestly. Nobdoy who actually likes the music on this album will value your opinion.

AngmX - misogyny?

just Stevie Nicks????....where are Aretha, the Supremes, Madonna, Tina Turner, Etta James, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, BonnieBonnie Raitt, Brenda Lee, Patti Smith and Gladys Knight???

achtung95 - Yes.

Just because U2, Aerosmith, and Green Day are here

Barsoom Carter - Nice, but...

This is the "best" according to...whom? I certainly would have included some songs by the earlier performers - not just "classic" rock - that we hear on the "oldies" stations all the time anyway. That said, I do like some of this. Maybe next time a little Gene Pitney, Brenda Lee.

XTCFan6 - Puzzling

Great compilation, and keep in mind the hall doesn't make sense ... Bon Jovi, The Cure, Rush, Moody Blues, ELO, Chicago, Joy Division, New Order, Kiss, The Monkees, The Wings, Brian Eno, Hall & Oates, Donna Summers, The Smiths, Peter Gabriel, and many more aren't in, while the Pretenders are. But it isn't that which confuses me. Well, that too, but I received the actual CD of this ... it contains 51 songs, 31 more than this. What's going on?

Algrensan - Green Day

To the person freaking out about Green Day. They are not in the Hall of Fame, they inducted The Ramones and performed the songs.

Jacob Zeigler - What About Paul?

Does anybody care about Paul McCartney? He's the most famous performer there; you couldn't have completed this concert without Paul! He's only the most awarded musician in modern musical history!

tomigunn - It's from a live show you dolts

This is a recording of a live concert at the induction ceremony. It's not the HOF's compilation of the greatest of rock and roll. Learn a little before you start whining about "Where is Nickelback?" And seriously, Nickelback? Of all the artists not represented in this compilation THAT'S who you're worried about? Yikes.

l.kuby - RUSH!!!

NO RUSH...NO SALE!!! Been with them since the beginning and will not give up on them...

Shadysgirl66 - People can be ignorant.

This album is 5 star. Masters of music clearly. Some even fall into genius category. Every inductee, presenter, performer, that comes about the hall of fame and shares their gift with us, (no matter the genre of their music) are representing the spirit of rock n roll. Rock n Roll would not be if every single genre of music were not represented. Each genre has developed from one before it. You may not love A certain artist or band but believe that your fave is assimilated with them is some way or form. This album has some of the greats performing the Greats. Don't miss Prince on Harrison's Weeps or Eddie Vedder on the Doors Roadhouse and Green Day rocks the Ramones! Aerosmith and Kid Rock are just doing what they do! Rock n Roll, Blues, Rap, Funk, Metal, it's the spire of music that brings people together. Should never tear them apart. The artists themselves would be disgusted if they read these rants. Peace All.

fortytwoDoctorWho - ?

The only problem that I have with this is that Greenday's "Blitzkrieg Bop" is virtually unintellidgible. Other than That, Great Album!

independent thinker - More Please!!!

Please, where are the others' great performances...Patti Smith in particular for me...she is so awesome!

Kbunker - Other than a couple tracks there is not great audio quality

This sounds like a live album recored in 1970 when there was not great ability to record live shows - this album doesn't have consistent audio levels or clarity. Save your money.

Traviolie - Green Day's Blitzkrieg Bop

My only reason for checking this out and purchasing that one song haha.

Donovan Murray - Prince solo amazing

Whenever my friends and I debate the who's better Prince or Michael Jackson, I show then the video of Prince at the Hall Of Fame. It is absolutely incredible. According to Rolling Stone magazine, Prince was not familiar with the song until listening to it the day before the show. Prince is an unbelievable guitar player!!!

erson.man_08 - cool album!

I love all these old school songs, def fun to listen to when you want to listen to some really good old rock songs.

fitman30 - The Best Of Rock And Rool Hall Of Fame live

classic

Skynyrdfan5 - Some people have no taste...

Did I really read a review saying Nickelback was the greatest band ever? Really? Of all the bands that have ever come about, a group who's songs sound similar is the greatest ever??? Uh no. Rush is an excellent band, but not the greatest band ever either. That distinction belongs to Lynyrd Skynyrd

Jrcjdidtie - Buy My Guitar Gently Weeps!!

Prince the legend and his AMAZING guitar solo!!! No one can come close to this man! Prince 4Ever 0(+>

Maizy13 - Every artist on here, deserves to be on here.

Each one of these people and bands have changed and affected rock music in their own way. Whoever says that any of these musicians shouldn't be on here, you're saying that they haven't done a deed to the rock music world, which all of them has. Why don't you stop complaining, stop thinking about each band's resume, stop pouting about who is not on here, and just enjoy all of the good music.

Varkflyer - No KISS

No KISS, No Rush this isnt the HOF its a joke. Album is not bad left off Genesis though

aphishphan - Prince...

So I just watched the Prince guitar solo and I must say it was pretty decent. However, as gifted as a musician that he is, it is not the greatest guitar solo I have ever seen. I would suggest watching some Phish shows, The Dead, Moe., John Butler, and so on. Maybe why people like this so much is because it is a Beatles cover. Not that I am knocking this because frankly I love the Beatles too. Im just saying there are so many gifted musicians out there... But on that note, I am buying this album just for the Prince solo!

MusicAcademy - While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Prince on fire!!!

Cover was great and got historic when Prince hit the stage dropped a killer solo, threw his guitar into the stands and walked off, and to see the other smile in joy. Finally the mp3 has been released. Awesome.

BRSB - Woodstock - James Taylor

Heard James sing this on Howard Stern and I've looked for it ever since. Amazing! James Taylor always delivers.

mattmi - Prince solo

The ultimate best guitar solo

ScottySauce - The Doors with Eddie Vedder!!!!!

If you can't have Jim Morrison at least you get the next best thing. Such a powerful song with som of the greatest talent in Rock and Roll History. Jim is smiling down at this tribute wherever he is right now.

Dinxkvzykc - Best?

There's a lot of the best stuff here, but... there's a whole lot more that ISN'T here.
