This is one of my personal favorite John Mayer albums. This album has a great flow, track after track. Also, this album has great vocals, great drum solos, and great guitar solos as well. Finally, the instruments wrap around the vocals like no other, and intertwine perfectly. Definitely looking forward to the next limited play album, and extended play album from John Mayer.

I always enjoy JM's acoustic performances and this album was no exception. If you're a guitar player like myself, there is no mistaking the talent behind these songs and that signature percussive finger style that defines them. It is my opinion that songs like Queen of California and Something Like Olivia, when stripped of their production value reveal some awesome arrangements that showcase just how good Mayer is as an artist.

Great acoustic arrangements if you're into that kind of thing. With the issues Mayer is having with his vocal cords, I'm happy to still be able to get any new material from him. People my age (middle) see this guy as a diamond in the midst of a trunk full of costume jewelry; a real artist in a world full of "artists" rehashing the work of real artists from years past.

This isn't much of a review but I just love the man. For every Mayer basher there are 100 that know who he is. His talent isn't matched and his songwriting and melodies are for me as good as it gets. I'll always be a fan.

I personally think John Mayer is better at Acoustic songs, and I'm so happy that he released these songs! I feel that John Mayer should really consider making a complete Acoustic album. If he does that, he will have made his best album yet!

I had the pleasure to watch John perform live and he is by far,one of the best guitarist alive! John decided that he had enough of his old pop sounding songs and went into a secluded state for a year to right something that he belied would have great meaning, and these songs are great! When people say that these performances are lazy you should see the videos! John really puts his heart and soul into these wonderfully crafted songs of his. Just because its not as popular as his old stuff doesn't mean that its not great quality with soul!

Best musician of this generation. This EP album further proves it.

People complain about this because they want a remake of something he's already done. John Mayer has come far enough in his career that it's no longer about just getting on the radio. John gets to record what he likes, whether it's covering Hendrix or writing folk songs. I love his versatility as a musician and a songwriter and can't wait to hear what he's doing next. I honestly think he's under rated as a musician… perhaps because there are people who just like to hate him personally. Who knows, maybe if SRV had pop songs on the radio people wouldn't have taken him seriously either. I love the versatility… but that's just me.

if u loved his new album just as much as i did than u'll love these versions as well.....some are more similar to the album version than others but they're all beautiful stripped down versions. John gets to showcase his crazy talent on the guitar a little more as well

I love John Mayer and this EP is amazing!!!!

But i think this rather be in born and raised deluxe edition but overall is awesome.

I blindly download everything John puts out there. I have since before Room for Squares came out and I was pulling live tracks from Eddie's Attic off of Naptster. I am rarely disappointed. I listened to the first two songs on this EP though and they sound like he was forced to sit in the studio and record the tracks. It sounds like he has no interest in being there. Whoever on his team told him that these tracks were ready for release did him a disservice. At times it's like he is not even singing and almost as if he is just saying or reading the words. The Village Session EP he released a few years back is one of my favorite compilations of his music. It's just him and a guitar and the way he turns a verse and modifies the delivery of some of the songs is incredible. I was hoping for much of the same with this EP, but it's not in the cards. If I were him I would pull this from the shelf, go back in the studio with a little heart and then re-release another EP. Quality is usually never an issue with John's music, but in this case it is.

Great acoustics that are just enough different than the studio recordings to make them great, and "Go Easy On Me" is lyrically and melodically genius. Good stuff.

John Mayer's acoustic versions of EVERY song are always phenomenal- they never get old!!

It's John Mayer, so right off the bat, it's awesome. That goes without saying. It's nice to hear different takes on songs. Honestly, it's one of my favorite things to get ahold of an album like this and hear the subtle differences. The new song is still settling in my head, but so far i think it's gonna be great. This version of Something Like Olivia is by far superior to the album version. Fantastic. But at the same time I like the Born and Raised version of Queen of California so much better. The original version's vocals are just so much more engaging. I also realized while listening to this album that the lyrics on Born and Raised are not quite as solid as his last two albums. Battle Studies is actually my favorite album of his btw. But like i said, it's John Mayer, so it's just amazing. If it were a lesser musician there would be no value in nit picking.

Most of this album is acoustic which is awesome. Acoustics by John Mayer is never a let down. Awesome EP also awesome new song. John Mayer will never fail to bring me happiness.

Like all of you I am pumped when JM releases something new, especially a spinoff from Born and Raised, which at least at this point I consider to be his best record yet. But I must say "Speak for Me," exceptional on the album, stinks on this EP. He dips back into that old and intolerable habit of tweaking a melody just for the sake of tweaking it, making it so much worse as a result. The melody on the album version is great. it should've been more closely replicated here. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Go easy on me is a very cool track though. Very excited for this next chapter of JM's music.

JM's guitar has rock, pop and near blues DNA. Every great talent likes to test their boundaries. I guess this is JM"s "gonna find myself another me" time.

I love John Mayer! His music is amazing! I met him recently in Montana! He is a great artist.

Just kidding! There is no problem. The only problem is I love ALL of his songs, so I have to buy them all. He is amazing!
