This music will pull you into Skyrim. It becomes the lifebeat of the game. It’s its own being. I let this game just sit and listen to the music, it’s that good. Very atmospheric and ethereal.

I’ve listened to it literally every other day (at least) since release.

I never thought that they could make a game like skyrim. A game where you are so mesmerized throughout the whole game over and over that you can't help but play it again. And what about that stunning soundtrack? I use it to study, I use it to sleep, Absolutely and undoubtedly, 5 stars.

With its combination of what is made to sound like 90 people singing and an epic orchestra, Jeremy Soule has composed one of the greatest soundtracks in video game history. Listening to the music brings back memories of powering up your computer and turning on Skyrim and waiting for the song to end before you click start just because it makes you feel like a true adventure (until you take an arrow in the knee). Definitely worth the buy.

It is more than a soundtrack or an album of music. This, detached from the video game, could easily be held as a musical masterpiece. I purchased the signed, physical copy from the composer and have worn out the cds. It is a brilliant score.

It’s true—I have never played this game. A song from this soundtrack came up on a Pandora station, and I was hooked from the get-go. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was from a video game. This is beautiful music though, and can easily stand by itself.

Best video game soundtrack ever made. However, I bought the album so I could listen to "Skyrim Atmospheres" but it refuses to let me play it even though it's downloaded and I own the whole entire album. It just makes me a little upset as all.

I found myself finally drawn to buying and playing Skyrim after hearing the music. When my husband heard me playing, he would stop in the middle of the room and just listen. He asked, "What is that music? ... It's beautiful!" Even the big bombastic adventure themes are just lovely. Whatever you do, do not judge this whole work by the first track. Try "The CIty Gates", first. I remained overjoyed that this music exists. I listen to it, beginning to end, at least once a month.

I bought this and the Oblivion soundtrack on my old device but it won’t let me redownload them. It just says purchased. I have looked through my downloads and even purchased not on this phone and can’t figure it out.

I dont even play, but now I want to because of the soundtrack. Chill, non distracting atmospheric sounds for brain heavy activity... like long tedious papers.

I know this review will probably be buried by the ones from 7 years ago praising this album, but I need to say this. The first three songs on the album are not available in the USA. I bought the album and was offered no warning for this. I am now unable to play these songs. Beware before you buy. The album is great but this is a glaring problem that feels illegal.

The music from this game invokes a deep sense of tranquility and relaxation to the listener. The music to this game is literally what makes this game so amazing. I sleep listening to this. Workout to this. Of course play the game listening to the in game music. And I just can't get enough. Hans Zimmer lost the year Skyrim came out. To the artists and composers that made this happen... Believe me when I tell you that millions of nerds around the globe will pay SCHMONEY for another game with music THIS GOOD.

I’d imagine most consumers of this album are familiar with its content from playing the game, but if anyone stumbles on this review that hasn’t ever played the game or heard its soundtrack but still appreciates atmospheric music, I URGE you to purchase this album. When excluding the combat selection, you’re left with some of the most mind blowing chords and progressions that is the Elder Scrolls V soundtrack. You’re hairs will stand straight up when succumbed to this album’s beauty.

Loved this music even before purchasing the soundtrack. Soule is an astounding composer, and I’m glad I finally bought this album. *Caution: will bring a tear to your eye if you’ve played Skyrim.*

It's definitely worth the $16 buy! I listen to it almost every day; it's the perfect blend between epic ness, righteousness, and plain beautiful composer! But beware, this music will swing your mood to be sucked right into the world known as Skyrim in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V. My definite, absolute favorite is "From Past to Present"!

The month was November. The year was 2011. I had just graduated from High School the Summer past. My friends were all asking me, “Mark, why haven’t you bought The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim yet?!” At that point in my gaming life, pretty much the only games that interested me were shooters and racers. I foolishly said “I don’t play RPG’s.” And then a friend of mine, who I still play Xbox with to this day told me “Mark, listen to me, you have to get this game, it’s one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played.” And so, I finally caved and went to GameStop to pick it up. I remember that night so vividly, from almost the exact moment I sat down, I was completely immersed into that almost transcendent world. The sights, the sounds, and you guessed it, THE MUSIC! I found myself just aimlessly walking around exploring the vast environment that was Tamriel, and I couldn’t believe how incredible it all was. I’ve since listened to some of Mr. Soule’s other work (Morrowind and Oblivion), but Skyrim still remains my favorite. Even after almost a decade later, I still can go back and play this wonderful creation and feel the same awe and bliss as I felt all those years before. I’m not sure when The Elder Scrolls VI will finally be released, but one thing is for sure, if Bethesda doesn’t bring back Jeremy Soule, it would be a HUGE mistake.
