Literally every song on this album is knocked out of the park. This will always be Skillet’s opus.

I first heard Skillet when I was seven years old at Winter Jam, eight years ago. The songs they performed were all on this album and they were Rebirthing, Falling in the Black, Whispers in the Dark, The Older I Get, and Looking for Angels. I loved their music immediately so when the concert finished, me and my mom went to their merchandise table and bought the Comatose CD. I have absolutely loved Skillet ever since and this, in my opinion, is their best album so far. Don't get me wrong, Rise is an amazing album and Not Gonna Die has the coolest intro ever (you actually miss it if you skip the last minute of the previous track) but I guess the songs in the Comatose album just relate to me better. That and the sentimental value of this album.

I love Skillet, and am a fairly newcomer to them for about 2-3 months. When I first bought this album at 16 years old, am 17 now, didn't like it as much. It grew on me within like 2 weeks and I love it now. Easily their best and most succesful, but Awake is my favorite and this comes a close second. My favorites are Older I Get, Those Nights, Rebirthing, Comatose, Yours to Hold, are my 5 best. If you get into them this and awake are the ones to buy. Overall terrific, check it out if you haven;t listened to it. Another highlight is the symphony too, kinda like what Metallica did live. It's really cool. Awesome band

They sing so good on this album! I know this is like the only album by Skillet with Korey singing but I got to admit she’s really good! I like Rebirthing, Whispers in the dark, Those nights, The last night, Looking for angels and Comatose. Korey sings in The last night and Rebirthing. It’s a great album! I found out about it last year. The best ones are Whispers in the dark and Those nights

I have always loved this album since October 13, 2006. I don’t know what they do but they have mastered it very well. Comatose or the last night are one of my favorite songs in there if I had to choose. I also love there other albums like awake and alive, Legendary, and even there new album dominion. It also has gotten me through the toughest time in my life. If you are struggling then I would very strongly suggest this album to anybody. Thank you skillet. I have abs always love your music skillet

One of my favorite rock albums ever! Along with awake and rise albums

No matter if your going through a tough time, or you just want to hear some good Christian rock, this album is great.

Comatose is literally on fire. The first time I heard this song was in a Naruto AMV, Obito Uchiha.

This album is truly one of Skillet's best. I love "Rebirthing" and "Whispers In The Dark". John Cooper does a great job on each one of the songs. I can't wait untill their next album

After listening to the songs a couple times, the music has really grown on me. It's so different, and that's what makes it beautiful. "The Last Night" actually has made me cry a few times. The messages in these songs are so important.

This is Skillet’s last album that was any good. Where Collide was sorta relentless, this one is more resigned and introspective, judging from songs like “The Older I Get” and whatnot. There are some really great tunes here, but “Falling Inside The Black” and the overall approach of the record was a dark sign of the joke that they were due to become. Which is a shame really, cuz this album is a rewarding listen to one of Christianity’s oddest contradictions in music.

Wow. That is the only word that can properly describe this album. The lyrics are full of so much passion and care. I love Skillet and everything that they stand for. God Bless!

This album is great. A little of rock but some of them aren’t as rock as others. My 2 favorite songs are “Yours to Hold” and “Say Goodbye”. Those are the songs I love.

The lead singlet had gone insane and ruined this band for me.

Simply put, this is the greatest album of all time. Skillet has not yet surpassed these songs in sound quality, lyricism, and Skillet-ness 1.) Rebirthing This song starts out the album strong, with epic strings and an insane chorus. 2.) The Last Night The tone quickly changes from a banger to a much more serious song. This is about a girl who struggles with cutting and suicidal thoughts. God is telling her that there is hope. 3.) Yours To Hold Beautiful ballad. Really gets going in the second half. Johns vocals have never sounded so sincere. 4.) Better Than Drugs Another banger. The chorus is catchy, and the verses are deep. 5.) Comatose The title track is both sonically and lyrically stunning. Wondrous melodic hard rock, with a beautiful message. 6.) The Older I Get A sad, regretful song about fights in a family, and how they are meaningless. Truly a beautiful song and one of the highlights of the album. 7.) Those Nights This is the greatest song in the world. Skillet creeps into alternative/emo here, as John sings about his childhood and his best friend. 8.) Falling Inside The Black It took me a while to get used to this song, but it has an amazing guitar line and Korey adds her vocals to the chorus. 9.) Say Goodbye Out of the ballads on Comatose, this one is the best. Piano mixes with guitar and strings as John struggles to say goodbye. 10.) Whispers In The Dark I feel like this song should have been the closer, it's so freakin amazing. Right from the opening, there's flaming guitars, heavy vocals, and overall awesomeness. 11.) Looking For Angels This is the only song that is a puzzle to me. John sort of raps the verses. It's a bit of a strange ending to an unforgettable album.

I saw them in concert back in 2010 then picked up this CD a couple years later and I still enjoyed today. My favorites are rebirthing, the last night , better than drugs, comatose, the older I get, those nights, say goodbye in whispers in the dark. It's not as good as awake but it's still one of my favorite skillet albums

This was the album that got me into hard rock and heavy metal. It’s that good. Every song on here is unique. I recommend this album to anyone who wants to hear pure rock and then pure ballad. Buy it. It is one of the best albums out there. Favorites: ALL OF THEM!!!

I've been a fan of skillet for a very long time, and this by far is the greatest album they've made, and my favorite album of all time, it has the perfect balance of feel-good songs, emotional songs, fun songs, and inspiring songs, the lyrics have more thought put into them than any other music I've ever heard, definitely the perfect album, and will be very hard for them, or any other band to ever top.

I love skillet and that's saying a lot because I don't run with the crowd I'm a Eric church all the way to nickleback kinda guy but man did skillet nail this album with a balance no other band I've heard could of rock metal and true lyrics and meaning the roots of skillet reach into every age group and setting keep it up guys cause failure anthem is comin up hot they're takin the world by storm and y'all both write amazingly

There's only like 2 songs I dislike on here. The Last Night was my favorite, it was emotional and sad and adorable all at the same time and it was nice to hear Korey sing too.

This is Skillet's best album. It just barely inches out Collide in my opinion. I’ve listened to both over a dozen times and I can now say that Comatose just feels more complete to me. Collide is their 2nd best album without a single doubt in my mind. There’s gonna be people out there who are gonna say they like Collide more, and I can understand that. Just to me Comatose felt more complete and more like an album rather than just a collection of songs. I know they’re a "Christian" band, but they don’t even talk about God in most of these songs. Plus, even if all the songs were about God, there’s nothing wrong with that. If atheists listen to those songs, they’re simply there because it’s good music. And the songs that are about God aren’t even noticeable, which is probably one of the reasons why a lot of non-religious people like them. I think this fully deserves it’s 5 stars. There’s going to be people who are gonna disagree with me, and that’s ok. Not everybody loves symphonic hard rock. That’s a very specific genre. But even if it isn’t your cup of tea, you will enjoy at least a few songs off this album. This album is just an all around great album. Every song feels different and has great structure, great track listing, meaningful and deep lyrics at times, and very unique at it’s time. Not very many rock or metal bands had strings or a boy and girl vocalist back then. Obviously now there’s plenty, but still this album holds up regardless of that which is pretty crazy. Yes there’s better albums out there, that’s not a hard question. And yes this album isn’t the album of the decade, but it’s simple enough to get the job done and is well worth coming back to over, and over, and over again.

I discovered this album when I was young, maybe that's why I'm so fond of it. But every song on this is good, worth the buy. Very uplifting for those who need it!
