"Upgrade" is the third track off of "The Incredible True Story". Logic has “upgraded”, both monetarily with his rising success and metaphorically with his new, heightened perspective on his own life. By referencing an ‘Upgrade’, he is also thematically connecting to Thalia, his narrator in Under Pressure, and AI of Thomas' and Kai’s ship, which got a software upgrade in the skit at the end of the previous song, “Fade Away.” This track features samples from the Apollo 11 lift-off countdown (also sampled by Frank Ocean, and Jay Z/Kanye West), as well as The Singers Unlimited’s “Clair” song.
