Found the cassette while deployed during the Operation Desert Shield in Riyadh. Played the hell out of it and still a great album. Her vocal range really helped tolerate the lonely desert nights and a fan since then.

I have 17 of her songs, all old songs, I have almost every song on this album. For a 15 year old who didn't know Mariah Carey's vocal abilities, the first time hearing these songs, I fell in love. I will never stop singing them, and never stop listening to them

This and music box are essential Mariah Carey albums. I just love the 90s vibes and you truly believed she was one of the greatest singers of all time. She was certainly the greatest singer of the era. I was a young teen when this was released. No cares in the world; days seemed like they lasted forever. This album is part of my mental time capsule of a great decade, and certainly an amazing decade for “real” music.

To call him this album a classic would be the understatement of the century. Almost 25 years later and I can still listen to this album DAILY! "Alone In Love" is one of my all-time favorite songs!! That, Prisoner, Sent From Above, Vision Of Love, All In Your Mind... Wow. Just wow. If you don't own this, GET IT

A fantastic singer manages to hit it out of the park on her first try (she certainly had a lot of assists with popular producers at the time). Despite all the theatrics and perfection that went into this album, the vocals are what stand above it all. In particular, "Vision of Love," "Don't Wanna Cry," & "Vanishing" were jaw-dropping vocally. The rest is very good too, even if some of the songs have dated musicality ("Love Takes Time" and "You Need Me" especially). Don't ignore this album if you love fantastic vocals and buy every song if you're a Carey fan.

This is the first CASSETTE TAPE I ever bought with my own money and the album will always have a soft spot in my heart for that reason, but I actually love this album for the songs.

I remember walking around in New York and hearing Vision Of Love for the first time. It had just been released. I had a radio walkman and they played it on the radio. I was so blown away by that song I had to go sit down somewhere on the sidewalk next time they played it. One of my favorite songs of all time. Ultimately I got the whole album and the whole album blew me away.

Mariah at her best! 😍😍 what a great way to start an awesome career. If you're a fan, this album is worth every penny. Besides it's where it began. I honestly can't skip through one song. It's that good. My favorites are I don't wanna cry, vanishing, all in your mind, & sent up from above. Especially the infamous vision of love. Great body of work! 😁👏

Legendary debut

At least in my humble opinion. It takes me back to my teenhood when I needed something to help me through the rough times. Though the album was a bit older in genre than my generation was listening to, it did the job. Ms. Carey's voice transcends and delivers such a powerful message. I really wish she would go back to this persona, if only for one more album. A must have for any music fan, along with Music Box.

I listened to We Belong Together and it mdde me want to go back to the beginning of her career, and I don't regret it at all. 90's Mariah is legendary. My favorite songs from this one are "Vanishing" "All in Your Mind" & "Vision of Love" but the whole album is great. Buy it I recommend it! I'm 16 and I love this music much more than anything that's been coming out lately. Buy it!!!!!

It’s no wonder that over a third of the songs on this album hit number 1. Throughout the album Mariah showcases her incredible vocals. Not a single time did I get bored while listening, which is rare for me. With a mix of ballads and dance tracks, this is the definition of what an album should be.

Those of you who are calling Ariana Grande the 'new young mariah' please reconsider and listen to this album all the way through. Ariana is the same age now as Mariah was when this album came out . Mariah recorded this album when she was 18-19 and it was released when she was 20,Ariana recorded her album at 19 and she turned 20 around the time it came out. Mariah was FAAAAARR SUPERIOR a vocalist than ariana is, mariah WAS better than Whitney and Celine. Ariana is talented,she isnt into the whole electronic dance music thing,and has a real voice,but calling her the new Mariah Carey is stupid and incorrect. Ariana 'belts' in head voice,she is more airy than Mariah ever has been, her 'lower' register,isnt low at all and she sounds like Britney Spears,Jennifer Lopez or Paula Abdul (A.K.A WEAK) Ariana doesnt have any pf the power or resonance that Mariah has always had. Even in Mariah's weaker years ,she is still superior to Ariana. This is one of the best debut albums(Christina Aguilera did the same early success in '99) Mariah's voice was at its best during this era. Probably her best album too. This album is 23 years odl and NEVER GETS OLD. Ariana's album is 3 months old and is already boring and not memorable ...no hate on Ariana,im just tired of all the comparisons. especially 14 year olds saying 'Ariana sounds like mariah carey,but better!' you are FOOLISHHH

Absolutely amazing. Not words as to describe Mariah Carey's voice. Just... OMGOMGOMG!!! I love all of the songs. There is not one I didn't like. Some I liked more than others, but there wasn't one I disliked. I love what Mariah has to talk about on the album, especially in There's Got To Be A Way or Vision Of Love. Topics like hope and world peace. I also like how Mariah talks about love in a way only Mariah can. I could go on forever. Loved this album so much. A fan since 2014. Might actually buy my own copy just to hear it on the stereo.

This album came out when I was in such a dark place in my life. I love the whole album but their was one particular song that spoke to my heart, “ I can’t let go “ I listen to this over and over again. 25 years later it can still take me back to a time when I thought my life was over. This will always be my most favorite Mariah album even today.

I love Mariah Carey and her 1990s stuff. I will forever. This is one of her best albums. I first heard “Vision of Love” when I was 1. Even though Vision of Love was not the first song I heard from her, she is still queen. Her high notes, soulful singing, and beauty is amazing. Love the first album by her no words needed soo good

I didn't even know about this album till July of 2013. Besides one song, every other song is my favorite I can't choose between them. I'm a little sad though "There's Got to Be A Way" has not been viewed on YouTube a lot, and it's not a lot of people's "most remembered" by her. Ummmm hello listen to the lyrics, listen to her vocal range, listen to the belting notes that not a lot of people in the music business can hit besides her, how can people like other songs over this one?
