Soapstef1 - CD LOST!! THE HORROR!

I pulled this cd out of the garage to load it into Itunes for my new ipod and imagine my horror at discovering that its missing!! I am literally in tears and will be pacing my local record store to get another one (3 hours to wait!) no matter how much it costs. This album belongs on everyone's top 10...there is absolutely no doubt. It's absolute perfection!

Eddybilbo - Great album.Great band.

I listen to this album and love every song on it. Thank you Strokes for making amazing music!

bingcrowsby - One of my favorites

This album is simple amazing and one of the few you can play all the way thru now days

M-Roy O. Arne - Iconic

This album is, in my opinion, the best of the century so far. A fantastic buy.

*cristina* - Please just buy it!

This has to be one of my favorite albums of all time. Seriously, listen to it. You won't regret it.

That Punk Kid_713 - The world needs more bands like these

I think this should type of music should be more popular than the modern day pop. I just love rock and punk music like this. If you don't know if you should buy you should buy it anyways because this is one of those albums that get you through high school and brings back those memories when you listen to it.

KooksFAN11 - Brings back memories

I heard the strokes when i was four years old and i finally found them.

Chyea Brahhhhh - Classic Album

Yup

luckyjohnnyboy - Not a ripoff

Any true Velvets or early Lou Reed fan will find those elements here. I've seen Television and some other comparisons but I don't see it, for me it's an ode, a talented homage from one NYC band to another and it stands on its own

Shirisaa - new york's dolls don't fail to deliver.

perfect. but don't be the idiot that takes MY word for it. freakin listen to this and hear the perfection for YOURSELF. jules, albert, nick, fab, nikolai, you guys have made the very album that changed everything. thank you.

Ernest Flores - It's Hard To Explain

This album is amazing. Favorite band, favorite album. I can't put into words how this album makes me feel.

Leeeeoooooooo - The strokes! 🎶👂💖

I still remember when their first album dropped (is this it) . My life and music were never the same!

The Transporter... - Near Perfect

One of the best albums of the last decade, without a doubt.

Jamesniggalord - You already know

The praises of this album have been sang a million times. It's one of the best and I would recommend it to anyone.

Stevethemorro - Every Song Is Great! Trusts!

Ever since early high school, I've gotten into The Strokes, and every couple of months, I'm finding a new song or songs that I fall in love with. A definite buy from me and hopefully from you. Excellent Album.

jpdolan - Nice album

Pleasant enough album, not too much that caught my attention but a fair amount did. A good half to make my cruising and listening playlist some good stuff on it. 4-5 great songs and the rest are good. Last nite and barely legal are fun jams for sure to rock out to and hit the road to. Nice vocals and instrumentation is simple but fun to listen to

kurtsina - Old

I bought this the year it came out. I was 18 and loved it. It’s a great drinking record. There best one for sure in my humble opinion. Not hate if on anyone who thinks different. ✌🏻❤️

lkwray9 - Top 10 Best CDs

This is in my top 10 cds, if not first its in second place. Its great!

bcb71 - Completely changed my taste in music.

Because of this album I'm becoming a hardcore indie-rock fan. I bought a pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers because of this album (with a little help from a review on Pitchfork). The songs simply leave me in a good mood. There's nothing complex about this album, just good music. Like mentioned before me, you don't see albums like this anymore.

Fuzzmaster - Amazing album

Never gets old. I've listened to it hundreds of times and I like it just as much. Easy to sing along to with no 'skip' tracks.

philliephanatic92 - What an album!

This is not the most creative album of all time, nor the most ambitious. But it knows how to rock. I love the energy, the hooks, the bass, the drums, Julian's emotional delivery of his vocals. What an unforgettable album.

dreaa durann - amazing

my favorite album of all time

Jfjfjrhrrnb - Best album I've ever heard

Life changing great album

Jayfeather123 - I love this album

This album is brilliant, but where is "New York City Cops"? It's my favorite song by them, and it's supposed to be on this album.

a beautiful exit - Is This It

Best album of all time.

124680&&)(:/drfghvghij - One song missing

This album is missing New York City Cops

Sadguy12 - Classic

One of the best albums ever made

eshimelis10 - Wow

Good music that seems to hit that special spot!

Fcw233455566790633)63562:, - Thank you iTunes!!!

$5.99?!?!?! One of my favorite albums of the 2000's!

CristianJ44 - Is This It?

My God, Probably My Second Favorite Alternative Album Of All Time!

Carl Crofton - This is fire

One of the greatest albums of the 2000’s

Strokesallday - Best album ever

Ever since I listened to this album as a little kid, I felling love. To this day 10 years later, I listen to this album every single day and the crazy thing is it NEVER GETS OLD. Every track is memorizing and I think this is one of the best albums ever made hands done. Best track is "trying your luck" and is my favorite song of all time. Even though the strokes later albums were not as good as their first, I will always until the day I die be their biggest fan.

Mr. KIRE - The Strokes

Th Perfect Album...

TheCharlieVerse - ;)

I love Last Nite and Someday but does anyone else like Modern age as much as i do like its a great song

JMPond - Game Changer

This record launched in a time of over-produced, mindless pop, and put a cigarette butt in the eye of the music industry. A smart, snarly, and unbelievably talented group of guys. The sound and production is as good now as it was then -and as it will be 30 years from now. This album transcended indie, pop, and 'alternative' into something that is undeniably 'cool' without trying. Top 10 albums to have for the apocalypse.

atrump1803 - best album

life altering

TakeItOrLeaveIt2 - Favorite Album, Favorite Band

It's 2014 but I only got into this band a coupe years ago and needless to say I wish I could go back in time to see them live at $2 Bill. Every song on this album is great although I wish it were the British album version to get New York City Cops put on there. Best $10 you could spend.

Awesomeband - Speechless.

Just speechless.

jfar22 - Revival of R&R

Wow. Quiet possibly the best album ever made. I love the hell out of this album. Every song slaps. I can’t believe these guys don’t get enough attention.

Peter Gnade - Best album of the decade

The Strokes defined music in the 2000s. Of course, this album lead the way. I can't get enough of it. There literally is not a single bad track on this album. Fav tracks: Hard to Explain, Alone Together, Last Nite

ChrisGonzalez15 - Album of the 2000's

Hands down the best album off the 2000's maybe even the best album of the 21st Century.

Sean Wolahan - The greatest album of the 2000s. Hands down.

No review has come close to capturing the magnitude of this record. Sure I could list off some adjectives before every other noun, but that won't express my emotions quite as powerfully as I wish I could. There’s just a thread of youth through the whole album, I wouldn't describe it as portraying innocence but rather the line between a stage of innocence and being an adult. It brings you to the point between maturity and immaturity, where you’re still young enough to do what you want but ones responsibilities have yet to become incredibly complicated. Exploring themes of young love, meaningless sex, virginity, commitment, rebellion, looming responsibilities, and just the general relatable experiences of growing up. It feels so nostalgic and dear to me, although I hadn't listened to it until a year ago. It’s something that makes me appreciate the age I’m at and not want to waste a minute of it. It’s such a refreshing perception of the joys of life rather than the darkness that people who “get it” see, which is a great thing that the genre needed. A common complaint is the production. What with its staticy guitars and the robotic filter clouding up the whole record. Now, I never thought of this as a disadvantage. It adds a very melodic and hypnotic feel that flawlessly laces the fast paced style alongside the arm crippling rhythm guitar. All of this is not only unique and a cool new take on the genre, but it also adds to its lyrical perkiness and sense of wonder. The robotic voice filters tone down the brutal nature of Casablancas voice; rather than his scratchy screams coming off as a head banging delight, it presents itself in a more innocent style. And the guitars create a speedy and upbeat tempo while still managing to present itself within a melodic and immersive cloud that layers actually every instrument, the more I think about it. It’s such a refreshing and unique take on the alternative rock genre that I have yet to see done at quite the same level of mastery. Every second is filled with its own charm and each instrument comes in when they need to and feel so perfectly synchronized to the point where I can’t find a single note out of place. Needless to say, The Strokes have mastered their own mysterious sub-genre to alt rock and have yet to be properly challenged to their own throne.

Manoutabox - Quite simply my favorite album of all time.

This is my absolute most favorite album. I cannot express the joy this album has brought me.

kitty - Brilliant.

Here's to hoping this band will never become mainstream. I never realized Julian was featured in LonelyIsland's "Boombox", but after watching a Mojo Youtube video listing their top "The Strokes" songs, I was hooked. Awesome album. Worth the 6 bucks.

Hhvhgv - Greatest of all time

This album is magical in every way

mcginnjw - Awesome

I forgot how great this album is. This is the best garage rock album of all time.

TheToxic35 - Where is "New York City Cops"?

This album is great I just wish it also featured New York City Cops but When It Started is still a good song. Definitely recommend for rock fans in general.

Mike1654321 - Best Album Ever

Every single song on this album is great. Listen to them all. This album is unbelievable.

Asian Mafia 420 - A classic

This is the album that seriously changed my life and I’m so glad I’ve found The Strokes. Their music is simplistic yet always makes me feel some sort of way. Thank you Julian Casablancas for doing what you’re doing.
