This was the TV Special that turned me into an Elvis fan. I played the hell out of this "RCA Quadradisc". Had the best sound of any live album I had ever heard. Elvis was in good shape and his performance was top shelf. Best songs: Steamroller Blues, My Way, Welcome To My World, and American Trilogy. Elvis' last #1 album 2x Platinum

My Dad had this vinyl when I was a kid. So glad it's on itunes now! Classic Elvis.

Should you get this, or the standard version? I'd say that the Blue Hawaii extras are worth the price. What you're hearing is the live broadcast, then the pre-performance dry run. After the pre-show, you also get 5 extra Blue Hawaii songs. Is this album perfect? - No. But you get so many classic songs, and it's raw & real. Picture hanging out all evening w/ Elvis, the band, & a bunch of people on their honeymoon. This was an event, and it's been nicely captured.

Elvis at his best. No fixes in the studio. No overdubs later. Only this performer and his excellent band could be recorded and it go straight to tape then mixed and released with no mistakes no flaws. Excellent.

A lot has been written about this classic Elvis concert, but all things considered , good, bad, or just average, it remains the pinnacle of Elvis's career. The last peak in his career while he was on this earth !!!

Even though it is a historically significant concert and broadcast,Best-Selling live album, I still think this performance is quite overrated.Elvis' voice sounds flat and nasally at times, and songs like "Burning Love" and "Something" are tossed off like items on a shopping list. They are sung with NO passion of emotion, just a plain old tired Elvis voice. If you want GREAT live Elvis, Either buy "As Recorded At Madison Square Garden" or "In Person At The International Hotel."

So good! One of the best performances of his career. It is as though I am there listening to this. Amazing vocals!!!!

Buy another version from Elvis. The trumpet in this song totally destroys this otherwise beautiful song. You'll be sorry if you buy it.
